Beautiful photographs. One thing I've always wondered, though: why doesn't each lens have its own permanently attached cable release? They're cheap compared to everything else in large format.
From my understanding, yes...Including Selenium toning... Even still, it's very important to make sure that all unexposed silver, is removed. Careful, and thorough fixing is in order.
Your first two shots turned out better than what I got I think. I still would have done color though for you. You forgot to do the park bench by the tree like you said in your first video from 2 years ago. Nice work! Happy New Years Andy!
Well, doesn't lay with colour. I didn't forget the park bench. I elected not to bother, due to no leaves on the ground...Time was fleeting. I wanted to get as much done before the sun sunk behind the mountains. I was planning to back the following day, but it was raining. There's always Spring! Happy New Year!
@@cipriandragoi9166 XRAY has much more contrast. Catlabs 80 is a bit more grainy (which I found a little disappointing). As far as sharpness goes, the edge goes to Catlabs...but only because HR-U has double-sided emulsion, which makes is very slightly soft. But you can only see this difference if you do a side by side comparison of the negatives, with a loupe.
@@analogueandy8x10 thank you so much! I guess I'll stick with x ray, and get familiar with it and try to get the most out of it because of cost reasons.
Love the images, especially the first one! Happy holidays, Andy!
I'm working on a large version of the first one! Thank you! Happy New Year!
I love the print. I'm really enjoying the look of salt prints, I have to give that a go sometime.
Beautiful negatives and beautiful print

That is something that I have thought about many times, too.
Happy new year Andy!
Thank you! To you, as well!
Beautiful print !!!
Concerning longevity of salt prints, does gold toning solve the problem?

I keep feeling dejavu about this location. Has he been here before, perhaps on a snowy winter day?
LOL I've been here many times, but not on a snowy, wintry day... yet!

How would you compare catlabs 80 to x ray HR-U or similar ?
Catlabs 80 is panchromatic, and HR-U is orthochromatic.
@@analogueandy8x10 thank you for ultra fast reply! Other than that are other main differences in grain, sharpness, contrast

@@cipriandragoi9166 it's pretty hard to beat price-wise for large or ultra large format orthochromatic film! Cheers!
