HVL won that game against Tennessee. That’s what big time players do. People gotta understand she transferred and started playing a new position after having sets ran for her to get looks her whole career. Learning the POINT is NOT easy. Of course it was going to be a learning curve. She has taken the growing pains IN STRIDE and is clearly coming out stronger AND better for it. You not gone knock down shots when you not in rhythm. HVL was getting the ball off her spot, unset, and rushed most of the season. When she off the ball and got space to operate in rhythm she is lethal. Only 2 players on this team has led their team to Final Four averaging a DUB and was a All-American. And that’s Angel and HAILEY. Y’all think that talent just vanished?! 😅 If LSU wanna repeat they gone need HVL scoring in March. The ball need to move more and kick out more and no one should care who shoots. 5 chicks that can all score 20 is a lethal combination. If they let HVL work off the ball more in spots in big games she definitely gone produce. Just look at the track record.
I think they will let her work more off her spots and sets. The WNBA pro scouts wanted her to learn the PG position and get some reps there in the event she has to play the position from time to time in the pro game. People were looking for Alexis Morris production from HVL at the point not taking into consideration that Alexis had played in Mulkey's system two years before moving to the point. Her transition was smoother because she didn't have to learn a new system. HVL had to not only learn a new position but a new system it has a learning curve no doubt. Now that POA is coming along with some production from the PG Hailey can play more off-ball and not even bother with getting the ball up the court because Makila and POA can take care of that duty. They can't repeat without HVL that's a fact they gonna need her shot-making in tight games and she proved her value in the Tennesse game.
I'm most impressed with HVL's playing, especially lately. She's done a great job of playing her position at PG. She's really calm, and I love her three point shots. It's good to hear Coach Mulkey recognize her contributions. I'm so proud of her and happy for her success. 💜💛
How can you say that? She don’t have more championships then Geno, she don’t have more number one draft picks or 1st round picks then Dawn. Only one maybe two of her players are talked about in the WNBA. Tara has been rank number one more weeks then her? So what are you look at besides those jackets she wears on game days?

But with Symia coming back and Big Girl coming along it might be possible for her to develop more of her face-up game which she will play at the next level. It seems like all of these seniors in the 2020 class are having some doubts about moving on to the WNBA. Maybe they will feel more comfortable after the season ends.
Rather or not they stay or go it’s up to them. As a coach you still need to have the conversation of if their game is ready for the next level and what you think as the coach. I don't feel the WNBA is a great league. Reese is probably making more revenue, exposure, and fun at the college level. Maybe she'll decide to stay longer at LSU.
Reese is not interested in furthering her academics to do graduate work I think that is the main reason she will opt out plus sometimes you just outgrow college.

I'm afraid someone is asking HVL to play point guard, they are called pro scouts who are tasked with doing the evaluation for pro teams. They asked her to put herself in a situation to learn and play the PG position because it is their belief that she will be tasked with running the team from the point at different times during the season. That's what HVL said and what Mulkey confirmed. Pro scouts already know what she can do as an undersized shooter and scorer.
These young women need to move on. Time to grow up! College is fun but you have to start making decisions for yourself. People wanting you stay in college are being selfish. She did talk to Angel two summers ago when she joined the team. Angle told Kim she would commit to two years and that's it. Think that's the reason Kim is preparing for her departure. It's Angel and her situation and the indecisiveness of her peers that might be giving her some doubt as to whether entering the draft is a smart move. Then it depends on the projected market she would go to. Everybody keeps bashing her game talking about what she is going to have to do in the post when in the pros I don't believe she will be playing in the post. I'm like this Reese has NEVER wanted to play the five. When Maryland team members started leaving the program and she knew she would be moved to the five she hit the portal. She had previous knowledge that LaDashia a bonafide post was coming to LSU to play the five then she knew she'd be able to play the four and she did well. This year the person who was going to play the 5 got injured so she was forced to move to the 5 and Aneesia had to move out of her desired position from the 3 to the 4. Now with Big Girl coming along and Symia coming back, Angel might be moved to the four but I don't see that working with the lineup they have now because Anesia wanna play the 3 and you got Flaujae at the 2. I mean you could move Makilia to the PG. I think she moves on I don't see an upside to her staying in Mulkey's system.

What? She was learning a new position. She also got injured this season which prevented her growth there. She isn't the first player to struggle early on learning a new position before getting really good. She deserves a lot of respect for her willingness to take on such a challenge. She could have stayed at Louisville and kept scoring a ton, but she embraced this challenge. Hopefully she continues to improve her game.
@cajunomics350 Unfortunately, HVL doesn't have the luxury of time on a team with such high expectations. She's terrible at the most basic fundamentals of playing the 1. Passing and decision making. Her learning has cost this team dearly.
@antonioluckett4924 A preseason number 1 has fallen as low as 13 and is predicted to be a 3 seed in the tourney. No way a team with as much talent as LSU should have the losses they do. She hasn't lived up to hype. It's as simple as that. I'm glad she performed great against TN. I really hope she can keep it up.
