  • 1000 Days for the Planet is the latest project from world-renowned scientist and UN Ambassador for the Environment, Jean Lemire. Lemire explores the world from his 50-foot sailboat, the Sedna IV, stopping everywhere from Alaska to the Philippines. Along the way, the series reveals the extraordinary beauty of the planet whilst helping us understand how our living environments function, and ultimately ponder the great challenges we all face.
Exploring life from ocean depths to mountain peaks, and from vast savannahs to the heart of the jungle, this series is beautiful and challenging. 1000 Days for the Planet is a journey around our vast planet to discover life’s extraordinary diversity and to bear witness to its fragile balance.

Thanks for a Documentary covering such important topics. An interesting mix of an issue where things are significantly improving(whaling) and one that is still getting worse(plastic pollution)

I just LOVE these docs, we have the ability to change the future of all life in the oceans around this majestic planet & it almost makes me want to cry, hearing such a touching comment from 1 of the people working to collect valuable data from the whales & sea water samples, he says, that after such extraordinarily fantastic experience, swimming alongside 1 of the oceans biggest animals like the whales, quote,
"u know that u could die happy" ☺️🤗 dude, bless ur heart maan!
Id absolutely give anything to be able to have just 1 min to swim in the ocean alongside whales or dolphins etc!
It's probably a wish for many of us & have it on our bucket lists!!
So... IF WE can get as many nations as possible to appreciate the devastating impact we have on our planets oceans, to understand the whales habitats, the devastating long term affect of plastics in oceans & to appreciate the importance of the entire ecosystem of these animals, we might, might just be able to get a grip on things like plastics in the oceans & reverse some of damage done & ultimately change peoples indifferent & nonchalant attitudes & help improve the quality of the oceans, help bring those dangerously low population numbers of whales back up, so we're saving more lives than we're taking from our planets oceans!
Admittedly, this isn't something which can happen over night, but if we do what's necessary RIGHT NOW, then we certainly will flip the tables! Help save our oceans & our oceans animals! IT IS TOTALLY WORTH SAVING & TOTALLY POSSIBLE for us to change the ways in which we live & affect every single life form on our BEAUTIFUL MOTHER EARTH!!
Please HELP us to protect the Planet & every species living on it!! It's possible! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻
☮️Peace Out whale & ocean lovers!
    🌊🐬🐳🐋🌍

Gosh, the state of all that plastic in the oceans and on Midway island.. Poor babies. The eternal problem of human selfishness and indifference.. We don't deserve this beautiful planet! 🤧

This is a woke bunk. There is far more important issues than whale conservation. Soil conservation is number one. Insect protection - we can live without whales, but human species cannot survive without the pollinators. Whale conservation is such a big, politically correct topic, every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to throw in their five cents into it. BFD.
