Gamers watching this might recognize the Spencer 1882 as the _BioShock_ series pump shotgun. The only thing they got wrong was moving the ejection port to the side.
In 1892 the sole repeating shotgun being used by the Provost Guard at Ft. Leavenworth were Spencer repeating shotguns which supported some 90 Parker and English double barreled shotguns. In 1893 bannerman said that 6,000 were in use of the prison guard type.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Phil Schreier, a great guy and he loves the old stuff! He deserves our respect because is the last casualty of the Spanish American War and has the scar to prove it! :-)
