I was half expecting induction coupling, along the lines of vcr head coupling, not brushed. But I guess with the currents you are coupling I see the logic of using brushed.
Your video was very helpful. I would like to ask you to help me visualize how 5 independent signals (5x12) could be conducted to a stack of 12 independently rotating rings/disks on a common shaft. I am an amateur artist attempting to create a moving sculpture piece. The rings would be more or less 1/4" thick and 1 1/2" to 24" in diameter. The common shaft diameter could vary but smaller of course than the smallest disk. This seems a little backwards or upside down from your video and I can't seem to wrap my head around it. If you have any thoughts even if it is that it can't be done, I would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.
Please explain this issue in my packing machines. A lot of slip ring has been failure during a weak. Firstly I would like to explain. My machine three phase harness cable is too far from transformer, there power cable is too remote from machine power input
Could Slip Rings could be used in a flying saucers to isolate the stationary operators compartment from the spinning propulsion unit. Just a thought any one else?
Dear sir Kindly let us know the procedure to rest sliprings pertaining to the insulation resistance and what is the max voltage which can be used which the slipring can withstand ie 220 or 415 volts What is the insulation resistance required between ring to ring when measured with a megger of 1000v from Sreedhar india
This was such a good video from a guy who knows his stuff. thanks!
I look forward to seeing more about slip rings. Specifically, material considerations, contact design, MTF. Thanks for the solid video!
Powerful engineering right here. Well done!
Great video, with a such a great explanation. Engineering at its best!
This was a great video, thank you for putting it together! Edit to add: This guy needs to do more videos!
What's an acceptable resistance between the rings ? Should it be open or is 4Mega ohms of resistance acceptable?

make Beryllium copper (BeCu) spring contacts and slide them against copper rings. OR just buy cheap capsule slip rings
Thank youuu, i just learned what these are and your video explained it quite clear
Amazing explanation sir.

can you use a slip ring on a welder?
Thank you, that helped a lot
Thank you for sharing your knowledge sir
Really helpful sir.. Thanks a lot
Nice intro, looking forward to the follow ups👍
Nice video!
Great post thanks
how much RPM can a Slip Ring handle?

that device on the left of the table half clamped onto the edge of the table is making me nervous
nice video
Thanks

Pay an engineer to figure that stuff out.
i call em collector rings
how hard can it be
How hard can what be
@austinsharpe8157 Grammar maybe? 😂
