CHY Ribbed Crochet Hat Written Instructions:
Materials Required:
2 balls of Red Heart With Love Holly Berry Yarn (medium worsted weight, category 4)
10mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Craft Scissors
Head Circumference: 21 inches/54 cms
Notes: ch 2 = 1 dc st. When joining into ch-2, sl st into both loops of the 2nd ch st.
Using 2 balls of yarn together - ch 4, sl st into 1st ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: ch 2, (working over yarn tail as you go) 13 dc into ring, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (14 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 2, 1 FPdc around ch-2 under join, [1 dc into next st, 1 FPdc around the same dc] 13 times, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (28 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 2, 1 FPdc around ch-2 under join, 1 FPdc around next FPdc, [1 dc between next 2 sts, 1 FPdc around each of the next 2 sts] 13 times, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (42 sts)
With a yarn needle sew center yarn tail in and around the inside of Rnd 1.
Rnd 4: ch 2, sk the ch-2, 1 FPdc around each st to the end, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (you will continue to have 42 sts for the remainder of the pattern.)
Rnds 5 to 15: Rep Rnd 4.
If you want the hat longer then repeat round 4 as many times as you need to.
Finish off.
Sew yarn tail in with a yarn needle.
Turn up the last round to create the brim.
