    Throw an Oregon skip chain on there and it'll eat through logs like butter.

    It pains me to watch someone who doesn't know how to use a saw you should hit the log wide open throttle or youre just slipping the clutch 2 cycle engines make all their power at high rpm I heard nothing but bogging and stalling the saw can last you a lifetime if you treat it right I've got a 40 year old echo saw it still runs and works like a champ original clutch only thing I've ever done to it was bars and chains

      Does it really pain you? 😂 Nothing built these days Hayden last 40 years. You should know that. Enjoy life bro you only get one go around👍🏻 Thanks for the heads up. Take care boss.

      Good point, but maybe he was ‘running it in,’ as it was new? My choice would have been to cut on some smaller stuff? Run it 3/4 throttle for at least a tankful, then go all out. And I cringe at these dudes that start up a new saw, and then wham! WOT! No load! Wrong! And then run it WOT trying to see the line of lube on cardboard or something?
      I don't know on ECHO as I have only used Husqvarna, Stihl, and Dolmar saws. Stihl says use 3/4 throttle under load at first, and no WOT with no load. Sheesh, look at the bar people, you can’t see if it is getting lube or not. But the creator is right, nothing is built today like it used to be. Stay safe, and take some Advil for that pain, Hayden! 😳🙄✌

    I would probably start with the brake disengaged. This way the clutch doesn't burn out every time you start it, since they start at a high idle.

    Most all echo products including their chainsaw do really well once they are warmed up. Don't ever ramp up a chainsaw from a cold start. Once the chainsaw is started let it run in a low idle for about 2 minutes. Seen many people bringing their chainsaws especially echo back when I worked retail. Cracks the head really quick and seizes up the engine.

    Love this chainsaw. Ive only had the saw for about half a year but im a landscaper and ive beat up on this thing pretty good. I did a job one time.. really wished I had my bigger Stihl saw on me because the job took a long time but.. I cut up this dead tree with my Echo 400.. I must have run like 8 tanks of gas through it in 3 hours... it felt like i was just full throttling the saw the whole time. That was several months ago and it still runs great. The pull string assembly did come loose on me one time and the cord wouldn't rewind but I fixed it. I think I was slightly too hard on the pull rope when i was fired up at work and did push ups the night before. The pull starter is an easy start..it has a spring in the recoil assembly. You don't want to pull the ripcord super hard. Definitely don't drop start this saw. If you treat it right I think its a great saw. I've probably put 40 tanks of gas through this saw with 0 issues besides the pull start assembly which i fixed.

      Takes a bit longer but for the price differences it’s not that bad. Especially if your like myself who uses one maybe twice a year if that. Thanks for watching along with your comment Erik👍🏻

      @@HighRidgeHandyman hey quick question. I been told that a chain saw will leak a liitle oil is that common. They said after every use to untighten the oil cap to release pressure...? Any thoughts? Thanks

    • @HighRidgeHandyman
      @HighRidgeHandyman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@esgp2868 I’ve never loosened the oil cap. The only oil drip I would get is from the chain oil itself. Not much at all. If your saw is leaking from the cap you loosen I wouldn’t do it anymore. If it’s leaking from another area I’d bring it back

I was referring to the actual working of said bulb, and why it is referred to as a ‘purge bulb’ by some. Please watch ‘The Repair Specialist’ channel, as he has some excellent videos, with diagrams, and narrative, on different subjects. His video on ‘the primer bulb’ is especially good, and it explains the primer/purge bulb in great detail, and you will get a better understanding of it. Thanks
