I saw someone say they didn’t like the part where her voice cracks. I think I like it the most. It kind of depicts the song and, explaining the kind of song this is.
“Bruno, did you know that greeks in the morning would eat oranges..” im greek and my mother told me to eat an orange everyday, it takes the pain away And it worked but not always -my mother kicked me out and i live with my dad, i still eat an orange everyday but i think she was just lying..
from google: Past research suggests there is a link between B vitamins-found in spinach, Brussels sprouts, and oranges-and serotonin production, one of the chemicals in your brain that helps produce your happy mood. So basically yeah, I guess they do make you feel better.
“SO I HAD TO SAVE YOU” will always hit me so hard, the force and emotion behind it, to me it feels like a mother trying to convince both herself and the daughter that it was all for her own good, toxic love
no the girl isn't dead. it isn't "all we did was kiss on my grave, i swear," instead i believe it is inverted. so it is actually "all we did was kiss, on my grave i swear." "on my grave i swear" means "i swear on my grave."
I think it's about an interracial relationship back when they were illegal, I don't think that the girl is dead or that it's pedophelia. 1) The title: Bruno is orange I think that "Bruno" is referring to a black man. The reason he is orange is because he went to jail for being with the girl. 2) The government guy. Since it was illegal back then, maybe someone got suspicious and reported them, then the guy would be a detective explaining why he seems to be asking questions. 3) When she says that Bruno can love her more than anyone then she is trying to prove that he is not less than any other man since he can hold her down and love her just like anyone else. 4) When she asks if he lost his good sense he probably told the government guy about the relationship. 5) Her mother "protects" her by either actually breaking her legs or stopping her from going anywhere. 6) " I think it's real unfair that you should put him there" again, she values Bruno like any other man and doesn't see anything wrong with the relationship. 7) "all we did was kiss, on my grave I swear" since in my theory Bruno confessed she is probably trying to reduce his sentence. The "on my grave I swear" is just her swearing on her grave, they didn't literally kiss on her grave. 8)"Everyone will know, everyone will yell. Please be a good man, please say you won't tell." I think that is pretty obvious but it's that people will look down on their relationship and probably raise pitchforks against Bruno. 9) The entire last verse is either her talking to herself pretending that it's Bruno or her writing a letter to him. The phrase "An orange warms the stomach" is a metaphor for pregnancy, I believe. I'm not sure about this but when she talks about fevers and fruit curing them she might be hinting at morning sickness but idk. 10) The lock of her hair and the shoes are either evidence that the relationship happened or her proving that he didn't abuse her. Shoes = kicking and a lock of hair = him pulling her hair out. 11) "My mother says that I will surely go to hell" is just the mom telling her daughter that she is going to hell of being with Bruno because it's a "sin". 12) The sheets was probably when they "did it" and the creek was just them having fun/ going on a date since they wrote their names next to each other and went to feed ducks. 13) Incogneeto mentioned that there were jingeling noises in the song at about 2:22 that could be a reference to chains. Anyway, that's my theory about this song. Stay strong and love who you want! Edit: Formatting + 10,11,12 Edit 2: 13 + fixing some spelling errors
I like this theory, and I think you got a lot of things in the song right, but I'm not sure if it tracks. The racist stereotype that everyone had was of the buff, controlling black man. Nobody would think he was any less of a man, so the speaker wouldn't try to convince people otherwise. There's also no change in "sentence" from kissing a black man to having sex with one. In those times, the "sentence" would have been a lynch mob. Look up the story of Emmett Till if you want more about this. Also, Bruno says the line "I think they know better than me?" I don't think Bruno thinks their love is wrong. Why would he turn himself in? Why would he think their love is wrong?
I think that the song is about a girl who is in love with a man named Bruno, but she is forbidden to see him by her mother and it’s telling us about the scandal of a relationship that they’re in, how heartbreak is real when you’re deprived by the love you need to live. It’s then telling us about the disappointment and disapproval of others about them. But Bruno soon realized how this relationship ‘wasn’t right’ and that the people who disapproved were ‘right.’ Therefore: “Bruno, have you lost your good senses?” Meaning she is upset over his decision, so she tries to convince him otherwise by reminding him of their journeys and adventures. - Just a theory :) -
I love how some moments it sounds like he's abusive but it backed up straight after with love. I feel like this is about a woman who's in love with a black man and it feels like she's like "yeah he could hold me down, but he'd do it in situations that aren't aggressive or abusive and love me. he could be armed, but it's with flowers." like she's breaking down the stereotypes and depictions others have on him just by his skin.
I thought that "he could hold me down" means that he can make love to her like any other man can, since he's human just like everyone else. That's my interpretation at least.
I personally think its about a white girl and black boy dating when it was illegal 1. "All we did was kiss" trying to reduce his sentence 2. "My mother says that I will surely go to hell" for dating a black man 3. "Please be a good man" the negative comments on them dating were getting in her head
Guys- the joke is that I’m so bad at singing that when I’m doing any song I get voice cracks but during this song, where a voice crack is necessary for it to sounds good, I don’t get voice cracks.
@@Cyberfan2167 Actually, its meant to be interpreted freely, but the real meaning is about an interracial couple in the 1920s - 1950s in America according to genius.
@@labyrinth2008 I'm not saying you cant interpret the song to you're liking,go ahead,i just find it weird that you'd choose this song against discrimination when it has a whole different meaning
@@Cyberfan2167 Like I said before, its set in the 1920s-1950s where african americans were veiwed as dangerous and unstable individuals below the white race. “tall man who could hold me down” is societys narratives. Same thing with “mother says ill surley go to hell” is her own mothers racism and dissaprovament. “Bruno” also means brown, which is another reason why most people interpret this song as an interracial couple. But thats not all im talking about, thats why I said I believe this song is for everyone whose been discriminated against for loving someone. That includes a young woman with an older man. Im saying it can be interpreted many different ways but the main focal point of the song is loving someone that society doesnt want you to be with.
I read it was about her getting groomed then saying they only kissed she sweared on her grave... then she writes him a letter telling him she's pregnant
The song is actually about an inter-racial couple back when it was illegal for a white person to date a black person (btw yall this has hella likes now i had no idea edfrgth)
@@honey--bee4006 honestly you can twist the meaning as much as u want like this has gay energy dont even try to prove me wrong lmao either way its just an awesome song so jam out baybee
So I'm pretty sure this song is about an interracial couple in a time where that was forbidden. That's what a lot of people on Genius thought, and if you look at the lyrics it makes a lot of sense. For example "all we did was kiss", is talking about how having sex at the time in an interracial relationship was a death sentence or at the very least imprisonable. Bruno is orange is referring to Bruno wearing an orange prison jumpsuit for their relationship. And the "what did you tell the man? He's a clever man, did you know? I bet he works for the government." Which could be referring to the narrator being careful of what they tell people about their relationship because the government could arrest them for it. It can also explain why only Bruno was arrested, because a lot of times the poc person in the relationship would be the only one arrested or killed. Unfortunately this was a really disturbing time period and the gruesomeness of the lyrics is candid. Interracial couples are still stigmatized to this day, don't make someone afraid of loving who they love.
I agree! And the when she was saying "where did you find his shoes? A lock of my hair?" Its at his trial where they were saying they DID sleep together and she was confused where they got the evidence. Same with "my mother says that I will surely go to hell" because her mother hates the idea of interracial couples
i love how it starts off so calm and then it just goes with a, “BrUUnO WhAt hAPpEnEd tO YouR gOOd sEnSe” i do genuinely love that part tho. My favorite.
I think I keep coming back to this song because I can FEEL the emotions she has while she’s singing. It’s not just like some song where they sing their lyrics and they’re done. This woman puts emotions and soul into this music, and it’s a nice change from many other songs. I’d say it’s one of my favorite songs currently
Honestly, when i first heard it a couple of times, It sounded so weird and hectic. It didnt appeal much to me, but noW that I'm listening to it again, it's REALLY good. I love how intense it gets, it really gets across how she feels. I like that in music 💙
Guys, chill with theories. She literally said "orange warms a stomach". Title says "Bruno is orange". That means he warms her stomach. So she's in love with him.
"Did you here about that mother who broke her daughters legs in two, she said it's to dangerous out there to walk, so, I had to Save You". This line for some reason always stirs such emotion in me.
for some reason i feel like this is about a dead girl. her boyfriend was falsely convicted for the murder just a tiny theory i have due to the title, "all we did was kiss, on my grave i swear" and "what did you tell the man? he's a clever man, did you know? i bet he works for the government"
And the part where the mom braking her daughter's legs was mentioned and how her mom said she was going to hell could indicate that her mom killed her and framed the boyfriend.
Holy crap it makes sense now Edit: I think she might be trying to beg someone not to reveal something to her mom or police "please be a good man and say you wont tell"
"I think it's real unfair that you should put him there" her ghost knowing that he didn't do it, and he doesn't belong in jail? A theory for your theory haha
This song seems to have many interpretations and it's nice to see everyone was as puzzled as me, but one thing that I was always sure from the beginning and no one seems to have mentioned is that I don't think Bruno is her lover, it's the person that told on them (for being an inter racial couple or something else), and is a person that she knows, like a childhood friend. I always understood that she was trying to convince Bruno not to tell anyone else what he knew, and she would both tell him about the man "all we did was kiss, on my grave I swear/some dull morning we were wearing sheets and he whispered I think that they know better than me" AND also talking about her own friendship (?) with this Bruno person, like if she was reminiscing from when they were kids as a way to convince him to stay on her side "see this hand that pushed you into the creek" to "we bought some bread and fed the gray geese and the ducks" and "please be a good man, please say you won't tell" So then it goes back to her learning that Bruno already told someone, hence the "bruno, what happened to your good sense? I broke down, that man's good, I bet he works for the government" So tldr there's two guys in the story, the woman's lover (?) and Bruno and I don't think they're the same person
I see others theories abt this song but here’s mine This song is about a gay couple in the 50’s Bruno is his lover. This song was the mans diary . After the man died Bruno was put on trial for suspected murder. The song was read by their sister (Sorry if this doesn’t make sense lol)
I think this song is about a girl named Bruno being in a relationship with a boy that she shouldn’t be in. Her mother is trying to tell her all of the reasons why she shouldn’t be in that relationship, “I bet he works for the government” “did you know he is an armed man?” While Bruno is simply saying that he isn’t bad. “Where did you find his shoes, the lock of my hair?” Being like saying “did you see him kicking me? No, no you didn’t.” I think the lyrics from 2:22 to 2:40 is Bruno calling out her mom about the things she is saying, while the lyrics from 2:40 to 2:58 is Bruno talking to her lover, saying she doesn’t want him to tell anyone about their relationship. “My mother says that I will surely go to hell, please be a good man, please say you won’t tell.” This can also be seen since I think the part between 0:50 and 1:45 is Bruno talking to her lover. the part near the end at 2:04 seems to be someone else (maybe her dad or her lover’s parents) yelling at Bruno about everything. We know it’s not her mom because they mention her mom. We can also hear that the tone of voice sounds different. I believe the part between 2:58 and the end is Bruno’s lover telling her how much he loves her. Saying that he believes the Greeks that an orange warms the stomach, Hence the title being “Bruno is orange”. Being that she is the orange that warms his stomach ❤️
Maybe the 2:04 is the mother, mocking what the headline of a newspaper would say, perhaps like "that's not what it will say! I'll blame her broken legs on you!"
I'm in a nblnb relationship with a black person, and this just reminds me of us, first we're both from different races and the place I live in has racist beliefs, then we're both the same assigned $3x at birth and we live in homophobic places, and they identify as Nonbinary (please use they/it for them and me ^^) while I'm genderfluid and will as I said we come from homophobic places, our parents would literally k1ll us if they fully found out, we haven't been able to talk recently and it's k1ll1ng me, this song hits hard... I hope all gets better, I miss them so much.
I'm so sorry you have to go through that, it's really sad how some people can make such a big fuss over a relationship/sexuality/gender. I, myself am a religious person, but it's just terrible how some people treat people that way.
This song is giving me vibes that I didn’t know existed. I feel like these are the types of vibes you should get when you are extra high but I’m actually not high at all xD-

For what I saw before, Bruno is a Black man and the song was set back then where Black men and White women cant be together(basically people were very racist back then) But the woman loves Bruno, and the mom found out abt their relationship thats why in the lyrics its says "My mother said that I will surely go to hell, please be a good man. Please say you wont tell." And at the end for what Ik Bruno went to Jail(from what I read) and he got a death sentence. And at the end of the song ( 2:57 ) where the girl said "See they believe that an orange warms the stomach" indicating that she's pregnant with Brunos child. It's just from what I read, I don't know if its true.
@@shrek_enthusiast825the title “Bruno is Orange” can also symbolize the black man in prison (uniforms are orange), and at the end “Orange warms the stomach” symbolizes the woman was actually pregnant
"Bruno, did you know that greeks in the morning would eat oranges?" Me literally am from Greece: My mind:Ah yes,everyday- What I said:HUH BRUNO DID YOU KNOW THAT?!
This song makes me think of a romance back when segregation still happened. The romance could have been between a white girl (let’s call her Penny) and a black boy (Bruno). The line “Where did you find his shoes,” probably is Penny’s mother finding the shoes of Bruno and starting to get mad at Penny for hanging out with Bruno. “My mother says that I will surely go to hell” Has gotta be the mom finding out that Penny is dating Bruno, a black boy. This enraged the mother. “Did you hear about that mother? Broke her daughter’s legs in two, and said, It’s too dangerous out there to walk, so I had to save you.” That line is most definitely the mother doing something, like locking Penny in her room or making sure she won’t see Bruno. “I think it’s real unfair, that you should put him there, all we did was kiss, on my grave I swear.” Penny probably finds a way to be with Bruno and the mom finds out again. This time the mother may do something like finding a way to throw Bruno in jail. Later when Penny is older, maybe 18. She goes to visit Bruno. She brings a book with her. It is a book about the Greeks. “Bruno, did you know that Greeks in the morning would eat oranges. They were firm believers in fruit curing fevers and I agree. See, they believe, that an orange warms the stomach.” Is Penny reading the story to Bruno. They both love the story and it reminds of their past.
“Did you hear about that mother who broke her daughters legs in two? And said it’s to dangerous out there to walk so, I had to save you” Idk what the song is suppose to be about but it’s really connecting to my mommy issues. I’m not gonna trauma dump on TH-cam but my moms a Christian with control issues who barely lets me leave home to see my friends because of “how dangerous it is out there” and I’m a lesbian with a partner she doesn’t know exists. I have to do some sneaky shit to have a life worth living. “Don’t tell my mom don’t tell my mom don’t tell my mom-“ New favorite song.
Hey :)) just to update that I'm ok. I'm not in danger. But I'm also no longer in a relationship and I no longer have irl friends so the sneaky shit was for nothing ig. now I just have the shit mom lmao. But I'm almost 18 so :)) I'm almost out 👋🏻
Here, have a theory- *I feel like she's telling her life story to a therapist and she's about to have a breakdown because she's had a crappy life and when it speeds up at the end it symbolizes that she's crying hard and she's just getting it all out at once before she runs out breath and when it slows down she's telling her therapist the very little good parts of her life*
So since everyone is saying their theories I'll say mine =3 *SO* Oh god I only just started and I'm already bad at this XD So her mother broke her legs and blamed Bruno because she didn't like them two together, she used the shoe and her daughter's lock of hair for 'evidence' and Bruno went to jail. The mother said that her daughter would go to hell because she cares for the guy :>
(I'm 4 years late, I can't believe I just found this masterpiece of a song just now😭💔) but I think your theory is great! And in the song she said a line "I think it's real unfair that you should put him there." I think that the girl is feeling guilty for bruno and that bruno doesn't deserve to be "there" and by "there" she meant Jail. And also by the end you can hear rattling noises indicating a chain
ً@ , kitty pop time does tweening. She tweens GACHA. It may take some effort, but I guess it’s kinda like using a base. Gachas are using Luni’s art. Animating a creation you made yourself would take a lot more effort. Gacha ISN’T animation.

everyone else thinks this abt an interracial couple when it was illegal. But I really think this from the point of view of a manipulated person. TW FOR ABUSE!!! First off, in the title. Now this is obviously already established by basically everyone in the comments heksk but Bruno is the guy "Bruno is orange" is describing him, orange is a color that represents warmth, friendliness, and all around safety or invitingness. The chorus is the girl trying to describe Bruno, but lying through her teeth about how he really is like "All we did was kiss, on my grave I swear". She sounds very frantic. In the first verse it seems Bruno may have slipped up somewhere and told someone abt their relationship, to which she scolds him and try's to settle down everything. "Where did you find his shoes, a lock of my hair?" This line is hard, but it sounds like shes trying to persuade someone who is convinced Bruno is abusive, and has evidence, that all of that is made up. And saying that everyone is wrong abt Bruno, that he really isnt the way he seems. The second verse seems to be Bruno being manipulative ""I think that they know better than me"" The next line is the girl apologizing, for presumably pushing Bruno into a creek. Pushing guilt on someone else is a classic manipulation tactic. The line after that is probably the girl questioning their love, but she cant shake that she thinks he just a guy that loves her. And trying to describe the good in their relationship to push down these feelings of unlovingness. The next verse is obvious, it's back to her lying to people that their relationship is healthy. In the middle she talks about her mother, this is just her thoughts of what would happen if she found out, so Bruno can't slip up, but shes blowing it out of proportion due to fear. The last part of this verse is again, her questioning his love, before pushing it down again, saying that he truly loves her. Because the lines before "and love me more than anyone" sound very much like someone describing and abusive person. The next verse is her blowing out of proportion what had happened when Bruno told her mother "What happened to your good sense". Considering this would mean the girl probably doesnt like her mom all that much, I'm gonna assume shes around her early teenage years. Back to the chorus, just her explaining even more frantically to her mother. The final verse is the girl, numb by now into believing of everything Bruno says, talking about Greeks eating oranges and believing they cured everything, is a symbolism for the girl thinking that at this point, all she needs is Bruno (tieing back into the title) and he is her savior because Bruno has manipulated her into believing everyone around her is scum. In the end she lost, Bruno won. But there is still hope dear reader, she will get out of this. And you will too, I believe in u
Hah I started singing this one time, and now this is a running joke between me and my mom. Whenever I mention oranges, she will say "you will surely go to hell" It's Amusing to watch people's reactions
For all the theorists, i read somewhere that the song was about a young girl that was in a toxic sexual relationship with an older man that she didn’t at the time think he was bad. The start of the song could be interpreted as her taking a bath in the future to, what other people with similar experiences do, wash their body. Feeling it to be dirty No matter how many times they wash. The lyrics start off with her trying to convince ‘Bruno’ that he doesn’t have to tell an investigator or detective about what’s been happening between them. Starting to try to persuade others that she isn’t being SA’d and that they shouldn’t put him in jail. Being defensive as she says “Where did you find his shoes, a lock of my hair”. 2:04 is the start of her mental breakdown as she recollects how the older man gives into his guilt and tells the investigator what he’s been doing to her as her younger self feels scared for what people, especially her mother, would do to him or her. 2:22 in particular is where her younger and older self have a clash as her younger self tells the story while her older self..more mature and knowing of what truly happened..makes the “dum da da da” to block out the younger self’s voice as she recollects her younger self’s naivety, the older self’s voice getting higher and more louder as she doesn’t want to remember anymore. The end of the song could signify her telling Bruno that she supposedly got pregnant because of him. As “oranges warm the stomach”. Also adding onto this, she could be saying that Bruno IS the orange and that making her stomach warm had resulted in a teen pregnancy. That’s my take tough
To everyone who is picking apart the lyrics and theorizing that this song is abt an illegal interracial relationship, another part of it is when she is singing about him being prison (or how we speculate it to be) if you listen closely at the end you can hear the sound of chain shackles. Just thought that was a fair point :)
I personally think that this song is about a interracial couple back when it was illegal. I think maybe Bruno wanted to tell others about their relationship but the singer doesn’t want to expose the relationship. This is probably why she says that everyone will yell. And when the relationship is exposed Bruno has to go to jail and some of the lyrics are the girl convincing them to not send him to jail.( this comment is all over the place :/ )
Is it just me or does this remind me of the whole Gypsy Rose case? Epsecially the part abt how her mother broke her legs in two And how everyone would come, everyone would yell if they knew gypsy could walk And then the part where she says "bruno what happened to your good sense?" They get caught
i like to think that bruno is a childhood friend of the singer, who is in love with another girl, and bruno told others about her “bruno what happened to your good sense” and throughout the song she’s trying to convince him not to tell “please say you won’t tell” by reminiscing about old memories “pushed you into the creek”
This song makes me cry... idk why, just do.. it reminds me of good and bad memories. I remember hitting 500 on my old account (deleted), getting hate, being forced to do stuff I really didn’t wanna do, the funniest memories of my best friends and I, being in a toxic relationship, making so many new friends who love me, remembering I’ve come so far, being happy and smiling, the best memories from school and a lot more. Idk if I’m sad or happy? Thanks for reading?
Hmm, yes, even if it is about a completly different topic, this song will still 100% make me cry about something this song isnt about, great. Ngl tho, this song is really fucking good. There really isnt a bad thing about it. its just a "be in your feels, relate to it, cry, and then find out what the song is really about and stop crying cuz u feel bad that you dont feel ""entitled"" enough to cry about it cuz its not about smth you lived" song
The last couple lines are so nice i love them and it makes me think of when everything was okay and nothing was wrong and everything good didnt send me spiraling into the ways everything could be ruined.
*"Bruno what happened to your good sense?* *I broke down that man's good I bet he works for the government.* *Did you hear about that mother who broke her daughter's legs in two?* *She said it's too dangerous out there to walk so- I had to save you!"* I love the way she sang it on that part, she sounds so desperate and upset there, idk why, but the voice cracks--
“Did you hear about that mother that broke her daughters legs in two and said it’s to dangerous out there to walk so I had to save you” reminds my of my mother “just being over protective “😅
Thanks for making this... me and my best friend and ex... not gonna say her name.. she loved this song... I do too... she is going through a hard time right now... “SO I HAD TO SAVE YOU” will always hit me so hard, the force and emotion behind it, to me it feels like a mother trying to convince both herself and the daughter that it was all for her own good, toxic love
My bestfriend cried at this song because when it said “did u hear about that mother who broke her duaghters legs in 2”
no the girl isn't dead. it isn't "all we did was kiss on my grave, i swear," instead i believe it is inverted. so it is actually "all we did was kiss, on my grave i swear." "on my grave i swear" means "i swear on my grave."
i still headcanon that it’s about a dead girl even though i’m definitely wrong :>

That part is rlly relatable because it feels like a mom who is suffocating the child by over protecting them and its doing more harm then good.
Esspecially when your family has had a past with abuse.
I think it's about an interracial relationship back when they were illegal, I don't think that the girl is dead or that it's pedophelia.
1) The title: Bruno is orange
I think that "Bruno" is referring to a black man.

Why would he think their love is wrong?
as much as i like this theory, the bread wouldn’t be 2 bucks back then so...

But Bruno soon realized how this relationship ‘wasn’t right’ and that the people who disapproved were ‘right.’
Therefore: “Bruno, have you lost your good senses?” Meaning she is upset over his decision, so she tries to convince him otherwise by reminding him of their journeys and adventures.

Words cannot describe how crunchy the 'clean' break sounded
I love how some moments it sounds like he's abusive but it backed up straight after with love. I feel like this is about a woman who's in love with a black man and it feels like she's like "yeah he could hold me down, but he'd do it in situations that aren't aggressive or abusive and love me. he could be armed, but it's with flowers." like she's breaking down the stereotypes and depictions others have on him just by his skin.
I love this better than the abuse comment legit right above yours. This girl breaking stereotypes with song I like it
omg wait i love this
LOVE this theory. I accept it 👍
i don't care what anyone says, this is the only valid theory
I thought that "he could hold me down" means that he can make love to her like any other man can, since he's human just like everyone else. That's my interpretation at least.
I personally think its about a white girl and black boy dating when it was illegal
1. "All we did was kiss" trying to reduce his sentence
2. "My mother says that I will surely go to hell" for dating a black man
3. "Please be a good man" the negative comments on them dating were getting in her head
It could also be about a homosexual couple when it was illegal, both are very good theories

Interracial couples are still stigmatized to this day, don't make someone afraid of loving who they love.
woah
I agree but the orange part is abt how oranges warm the stomach but in reality she’s calling Bruno an “orange” because he warms her stomach.
I agree! And the when she was saying "where did you find his shoes? A lock of my hair?" Its at his trial where they were saying they DID sleep together and she was confused where they got the evidence. Same with "my mother says that I will surely go to hell" because her mother hates the idea of interracial couples

I always understood that she was trying to convince Bruno not to tell anyone else what he knew, and she would both tell him about the man "all we did was kiss, on my grave I swear/some dull morning we were wearing sheets and he whispered I think that they know better than me" AND also talking about her own friendship (?) with this Bruno person, like if she was reminiscing from when they were kids as a way to convince him to stay on her side "see this hand that pushed you into the creek" to "we bought some bread and fed the gray geese and the ducks" and "please be a good man, please say you won't tell"
So then it goes back to her learning that Bruno already told someone, hence the "bruno, what happened to your good sense? I broke down, that man's good, I bet he works for the government"
So tldr there's two guys in the story, the woman's lover (?) and Bruno and I don't think they're the same person
That makes a lot of sense.
OH cool i didn't think about it this way I think it's interesting

I think this song is about a girl named Bruno being in a relationship with a boy that she shouldn’t be in. Her mother is trying to tell her all of the reasons why she shouldn’t be in that relationship, “I bet he works for the government” “did you know he is an armed man?”
While Bruno is simply saying that he isn’t bad. “Where did you find his shoes, the lock of my hair?” Being like saying “did you see him kicking me? No, no you didn’t.”
I think the lyrics from 2:22 to 2:40 is Bruno calling out her mom about the things she is saying, while the lyrics from 2:40 to 2:58 is Bruno talking to her lover, saying she doesn’t want him to tell anyone about their relationship.
Being that she is the orange that warms his stomach ❤️
i like it
I can say I believe it's a white woman and black male. The female is Bruno
Bruno is definitely a masculine name, though.
Bruno is a male name
The female equivalent is Bruna
I hope you are doing okay
I’m so sorry you both have to go through that :(
I hope things are better for you both right now :( i wish you both the best

@@mrduncanwife OH IT ALL MAKES SENSE
"Bruno, did you know that greeks in the morning would eat oranges?"
Me literally am from Greece:
My mind:Ah yes,everyday-
What I said:HUH BRUNO DID YOU KNOW THAT?!
They both love the story and it reminds of their past.

everyone else thinks this abt an interracial couple when it was illegal.
Bruno went to jail so it doesn't make much sense
I like this theory for some reason maybe it long
I like it

Astrid H it sounds fun lol
*bruno has never heard something so weird about himself. He asks a well and alive giorno to erase the fact that he heard it in order to hear it again*
*abbacchio having a breakdown in the background :*

Oh my god wait I feel like this song is actually about Bucciarati now-
This comment had me man
To everyone who is picking apart the lyrics and theorizing that this song is abt an illegal interracial relationship, another part of it is when she is singing about him being prison (or how we speculate it to be) if you listen closely at the end you can hear the sound of chain shackles.
This is my favourite song. It is so heart-warming. Bruno is Orange literally means Bruno warms up the character's stomach. It is beautiful.

i like to think that bruno is a childhood friend of the singer, who is in love with another girl, and bruno told others about her “bruno what happened to your good sense” and throughout the song she’s trying to convince him not to tell “please say you won’t tell” by reminiscing about old memories “pushed you into the creek”
From the first I really liked this song. But the meaning is very deep ..
animation memers here like:

IM OBSESSED I LOVE THE CHORUS IVE HAD THIS SONG ON LOOP FOR AN HOUR
This song makes me cry... idk why, just do.. it reminds me of good and bad memories. I remember hitting 500 on my old account (deleted), getting hate, being forced to do stuff I really didn’t wanna do, the funniest memories of my best friends and I, being in a toxic relationship, making so many new friends who love me, remembering I’ve come so far, being happy and smiling, the best memories from school and a lot more. Idk if I’m sad or happy? Thanks for reading?

If you like this song you should watch wolf walker!
Tysm!!
it took me a while to realize the background lyrics were saying "dont tattle" on repeat at 2:39 --
Yea
I thought "don't dandon" and "don't idle"
WOAAAA
I thought she was just vocalising-
i thought it was “help, bruno”💀
Hmm, yes, even if it is about a completly different topic, this song will still 100% make me cry about something this song isnt about, great.
Ngl tho, this song is really fucking good. There really isnt a bad thing about it. its just a "be in your feels, relate to it, cry, and then find out what the song is really about and stop crying cuz u feel bad that you dont feel ""entitled"" enough to cry about it cuz its not about smth you lived" song
This song makes me feel an emotion that’s not created yet
I literally cried listening to this song-
Same here. There's something weird about it that just taps into that emotion tbh.
It makes me think of all the bad things that could happen to me or my family and it made me cry from the anxiety. Anyone else have this problem?
*oh- hi-*
Same
I love how you can just *hear* the emotions in their voice.
The last couple lines are so nice i love them and it makes me think of when everything was okay and nothing was wrong and everything good didnt send me spiraling into the ways everything could be ruined.
When her voice cracks, I just love it. It really makes her sound upset and really makes her sound like she means it.
hold up
i thought it was takling about Bruno Bucciarati became Narancia from JoJo Part 5
ME when I saw the tittle hahah
Same here but I thought it was about Bruno grieving about Narancia ( kinda spoilers )
are you inferring that the listener is in love with bruno, because of what this song means?
...nice
Same tbh
The only reason I know this song is because I thought it was about Bucciarati
first 12 seconds was the best asmr ive ever heard. 10/10
*"Bruno what happened to your good sense?*
*I broke down that man's good I bet he works for the government.*
*Did you hear about that mother who broke her daughter's legs in two?*
*She said it's too dangerous out there to walk so- I had to save you!"*
I love the way she sang it on that part, she sounds so desperate and upset there, idk why, but the voice cracks--
When she says “Bruno what happened to your good sense” her voice suddenly went a bit deeper
I can see why you'd think that.
Though I think that her voice gets louder and thus sounds not light
“Did you hear about that mother that broke her daughters legs in two and said it’s to dangerous out there to walk so I had to save you” reminds my of my mother “just being over protective “😅
this just hits hard, THIS IS GOING DOWN IN MY WATCH LATER!!
For the animation memers: 2:13
Enjoy :)
