Papa Sears Sorta true. My parents used to hate it when I played video games then I started going out too much and never came home. They welcome video games as opposed to drinking and partying and drugs.
Yeah, there's still some stigma associated with games, but it's a helluva lot better than drugs or alcohol.
The entire time I was watching this I found myself saying out loud, "will someone please give that WHM a damn ballad?!"

Same here. Though I tend to think/say that out loud a lot these days. Like when I see 3 bards in a party and not one uses Ballad or Foe. Happens far too often.
EXACTLY....bards running around with a full bar of MP with no use for it.
Wasn't really needed for this particular WHM, but yeah, having it on would've made this easier. Considering this particular group had quite a lot of trouble dodging.
flameshana9 To be fair, many parties don't want ballads because of the 25% debuff in damage. If black mages are rotating properly, they should never need a ballad and a sch/smn will seldom need it because of aetherflow stacks. The only character I routinely run into mp issues with is with white mage.

MMOStein I recently tried TESO. Doesn't seem as bad as they told me it was. Combat is fun, for one.
MMOStein i bought WoW recently for a first try in it, ive been playing a lot of mmorpgs or action mmo but now i understand why some just cant let wow as something of the past the WoW lore is deep and not only the main plot sub missions or a lot of random quests give to you new stories about the ppl of azzeroth and this is really amazing in a game, i see that is a outdated game(non plastic movement or idk old vfx effects) and i really hope that blizz with the new movie look again in a way to surpreend the players bring the old ones back and add new ones like me. I dont think in a WoW 2 just a maybe a total rework new systems to the classes idk a lot of stuff that CAN be implemented and everyone for sure will love to see in wow. Sorry for the bad english.
Not only does she save the whole party. But she is also Solo-healing for the whole rest of the fight! Amazing play!

Umm.. actually raiders or anyone that does raids in this game, consider full i240 + a i245 weapon (From the last Midas turn, or Relic now I guess) over i240. That makes you just as uneducated about the game as the guy talking before. While you are right that this video was nothing worth mentioning for, the fact that you only mentioned your item level and not midas savage clears, is all I need to know about what kind of person you are. In which case, the previous person that called you a tomestone warrior was 100% accurate.
Good job however on capping your tomes weekly, you are one faithful casual.
Lastly, ever since Mhach and whatever that other shitty 24 man "raid" was called, Midas savage become about 80% easier. I know multiple bads that cleared Midas Savage turns, while barely scrapping 1k DPS. Recently even the i245 Relic that sadly, is BiS for every job made it even more brain dead. Yet you're probably one of the 90% of this game that still can't clear the raids lol. I guess that's why you need to boast about your precious item level on random TH-cam videos.
"I'm not even doing anything." Lol I remember when 7 people died (myself included) and all there was left was an archer who ended up killing the boss solo from 30% HP. I felt inadequate as a player and as a human being.
This video is basically what we sounded like. "How is this even possible??" Sometimes I see her running around and I want to look away because I am not worthy to look at such godly badassery.
I had one hell of a close shave during a fight with Ozma in Weeping City of Mhach. It got to the point where Ozma was down to 1% HP and then suddenly 21 of us wound up dying (including me), leaving only 3 DPS left standing. It became a race to see which would happen first: Ozma killed those 3 DPS, or the DPS managed to wipe out that last 1% of Ozma's HP. Then one of the 3 DPS died....then the next....and then *Ozma* died. It literally ended with just *one person* out of the 24-man team left standing after Ozma died. The entire Alliance was understandably freaking out at how close a call that was.
This happened during my run of First Coils part 5. Our team had been coordinating and we got wiped by the final twisters around end half. One healer and 1 tank survived. They duo'd it out till 3 Bars and the Healer used it to bring us all back. We ended up winning but the healer and the tank sacrificed themselves to get the rez.

Healing takes a lot more skill than people think it is. It's not just siting in one spot, casting. We're trying to keep 8+ people alive. This girl is someone I can say has mastered Healing
Only ppl that have it easy are DPS. Tanks are just the scapegoat for chats

It's the best when fights come that close to a wipe and suddenly a hero appears. This is some of the most entertaining moments in-game even if it is just Ifrit HM.

Best I ever managed was 5 Commendations as a Red Mage during a run of Orbonne Monastery. I'm in Alliance A. In the final boss fight, Alliance B & C are basically fine as the phase transition is starting (with each having, at most, just one casualty) but Alliance A got absolutely decimated with only 2 survivors, myself and a Bard, our Tank and both Healers had died along with more than half of our DPS. In the 15-20 seconds I had available before I needed to run inside of the barrier to avoid insta-death via Ultimate Illusion, I was able to get 5 of my 6 downed teammates revived (only one I *wasn't* able to revive in time was our Ninja) in time for all of us to get safely inside of the barrier, and then I was able to revive our last teammate during the phase transition once we had killed "Ruination". Not long after that, Alliance chat began to fill will comments like "Red Mage best Job" and "I think you mean rez mage.". Getting that kind of clear praise and recognition made me feel so damn good too. :)

I just got into a pvp frontline with her! She was an amazing player and her strategies carried us through victory! She hasn't rusted a bit. I cannot believe I met such a celebery as Celi Lucis!

***** Well, this was a group from multiple servers. The way the game works is that when you do a duty/dungeon/raid/etc, if you don't have a full party... you will have random people added from different servers across the entire game. I went into the battle with my sister, and everyone else was randomly selected from people across all the servers that also wanted to do this battle. As it turned out, one of the random people was also on the same server as me, so that was cool... but everyone else was on different servers.

Gosh, this video is all the things I love of about doing raids with people.
This reminds me of when Thordan was still new managed to seal the win for my party as a Dark Knight with the Low Blow kick back when it was capable of damage in the last second of living dead with the rest of the party dead. It was glorious

Why would you not cast mage's ballad? There have been many times where I could have saved the party if only the bard had that up. For a time like this, the healer deserved that support.
Every time I see this video, it makes me want to work harder on being a good WHM main.

Videos like this and Odin slashes the whole server, made me buy this game, just started a week ago, and I can only stop playing for work
My subscription to FFXIV expired a while ago and I wont be able to play again for some time, so I went and downloaded Guild Wars 2 instead to play for a while. I remember people were praising it because the loot system made itso that everyone could get a piece of the reward, and that's cool, but watching this now I am reminded of how much more rewarding the loot system here is than in GW2. In GW2 people fight a raid to help themselves, while in FFXIV, the reward system promotes actual team work and maybe camaraderie. It was a bit touching that they gave you the bow in the end because you needed it the most. :')
Nice video! You have probably learned the dodge mechanics by now, but stacking ranged on eruptions + remembering plumes patterns (inside - outside - stack) would've made this much easier for you guys.

Davryn here! This fight was pretty amazing and it's one of my favourites to date! It was incredible just watching her run for so long!
It really was haha... haven't come across anything like it since... I hope something like that can happen again sometime :)
Three things I came away with from that.
1) The WHM is a GODDESS.
2) The PLD probably should have been stunning way more frequently.
3) How do you play without being zoomed out as far as it'll go?
1) Yeah she is, haha2) Possibly, I'm not sure, it seemed to help though.3) I'm used to playing games that have a fixed camera, so I often forget it's even possible to zoom out. ^_^;

If you change the camera location and make it a longer view, it becomes a LOT easier to avoid the big area attacks

idesofmars There is no way, you can see who's from your server in a dungeon until you leave.
In my experience the community of FFXIV is pretty good. There are of course bad people and groups, just like everywhere else. But people seem genuinely happy to help most of the time. When you get to the end game, you will notice a few more people that can be a bit rude... but it's not as bad as with other games as far as I've seen at least.

Knowing my luck, I'd probably end up jumping *into* one of Ifrit's AOEs as my Dragoon rather than to *safety* . :P Hell, a couple times against titan I've nearly jumped off of the entire fighting platform. XD But yeah, that White Mage was unbelievable.
That White Mage you were with in the fight has all jobs at 60 including the land and hand jobs

Me as a FoMarl in PSO1 on PSO:1's very hard mode against Dark Falz. I was at the absolute minimum level when I joined Very Hard against Dark Falz and lasted a lot throughout it. I was the one who constantly cast Resta, Shifta, Deband, Reverser and Foie during the battle against the second Dark Falz.

This video was the catalyst for me leaving my warden on EQ2 to come try out a WM. Super fun class and a lot harder to play! I've never come close to her skills. :D
So don't ever turn your back on healer by return after you die. We (;healer, yes I am) will "try to" manage. If possible, We can fight on.

Fiddle with a voicechanger sometime and listen to yourself, and compare to whoever that was speaking.

So was this fight way more difficult back in the day, because i just did it and it was super easy.
It was so simple that both me and the other healer spent 90% of the figth on dps because no one was lossing any health.
I don't know that it was harder, but people were not as well equipped usually, and we didn't go into these knowing what to do. We had done this once before, but everyone else knew what they were doing so we didn't really learn or even see some of the stuff we encountered on this run. This and other early end-game is a cakewalk for even new players now (as far as I can tell).

Wow, that was really hard core!! So glad I play a white mage. Mostly because i played a Holy Priest in World of Warcraft. Glad I quit that game for this one.

Umm, all youd need not to wipe is do the story mode for the items like the whm here.
+Narcsin Back then, story quests only gave i50/i55 gear, not the i90 stuff they give out now. That being said, there are still a LOT of play mistakes the players are making.
the whm that saved them had daystar stuff which are quest drops. werent they back then as well?
+Narcsin back then you needed Soldiery tomes to buy Daystar gear. that was when it was top of the line.

I left WOW for ff14, its fantastic. The only issue I have is that i tried to get my bros to switch so they tried the 14day free trial and itgot them so frustrated they said 'hell no' to ffxiv with out ever playing. SE needs to fix the free trial fiasco. It didn't work for me either when I tried it. I gave up and a month later said screw it and dove in.
oh you mean she kited the hard mode ifrit knowing the limit break bar was almost full and used full res...thats not skill thats just doing what anyone would do when a crap party wipes
Gonna have to agree here.
Try kiting hard mode ifrit as a fucking healer for 5 minutes straight next time. See how well you fared. It's easy to criticize something you have absolutely no idea about.
Not using that second limit break annoyed me, lol.
This WHM may be good when surrounded by bad players, such as the other group members, but she isn't that good.
Two issues, she never refreshed Protection, and doesn't have Swiftcast. The other healer was dead for minutes, which a pro healer would have have Swiftcasted Resurrection on him.
I kinda have to agree. I could understand it if it was their first class and they just hit 50 (but it would take me a lot since I also made sure to get swift cast before hitting 50 on my whm) but I do sometimes get the no protect as I have seen some players do it when the boss hits hard meaning they have to heal first even if I always try to get a protect off when two healers are up.
She cant res and recast protect when she has only 200-300 mp left and the two bards dont even bother to give her ballad! She is trying to keep everyone alive with only a fraction of mp.
Even so when she does get ballad and her mp goes up there isn't a protect cast.
She does have swiftcast, and she does use it to res the other healer. She didn't do it early since she had to save mp to heal everyone, trying to cast protect is hard when the other healer kept dying. Healing is always top priority over Protect. I play whm/sch and i can say i need mp to heal instead of casting protect after a res, especially if the whole party is constantly getting hit.
I still cast protect as long as the tanks are ok simply because that protect could stop a player getting Ko'd again and I have seen it happen a lot and as I pointed out even when she had the MP to do so (as stated in previous comment) she doesn't cast it when she had the chance to do so.

Trash healers. People think this is good just because the healer can press limit break... 1:55 had 18 secs to heal that dps ONCE... seriously. Should have had enough time from healing the tank to get at least one heal off on him. Here's a thought maybe if the White Mage was actually good 7/8 of the party members wouldn't have been dead in the first place. Good dodging, heals are meh.

Might wanna check and see that her mana is rock bottom. the tank always comes before a dps that can't dodge avoidable mechanics. so t h she probably saw that they were low but could do jack shit about it.

Tek Rekts It's a pug healer in a run from 2014 that got grouped with a squad that obviously keeps eating Ifrit's AoE's for dinner. Your reasoning is garbage, no need to shit yourself.
I play as a whm as my main. When she raised the bard I was sitting there thinking hello a ballad why do u think I kept raising you.
