I got my pair and I feel like I'm closing in on all the pairs I couldn't afford as a kid and wanted. I'm happy with the shoe, the nostalgia is all over the place. My 12 year old son didn't understand why I was so hyped.

Ive been calling ahead on the so called release date and no one seems to know everything. I live near the mall of America and they have a footlocker there that gets the newest shoes a bit before anyone but they don't even have any idea. Even google it and just old updates saying last month.. Never happened.
This is actually a Grail for me. I’ve always wanted a pair but for one reason or another, never owned one. I’m definitely copping at some point in the next couple of weeks.

Such an amazing model and the colorway is absolute perfection. Penny may have had a short signature line but he definitely left his mark.

This shoe is probably the worst release I've experienced since the 2012 white cement 4 release but worse!! Only One shoe vendor was all I could find on the internet...WTF was all I felt this morning because this was my shoe of the year (in my opinion) I wanted the most and DTLR was the only retailer??? I'm legit sour about this release...biggest let down of the year in terms of access to the shoe. On a more positive note I was able to secure a pair of Adidas Kobe crazy 97's dunk contest for retail which was cool. It's just insane that I had better luck copping concord 11's which makes no sense to me 🤔🤔🤔

I'm not a sneakerhead anymore but I was really hyped for this drop and didnt get picked in the draw. Im very against paying over retail for retro sneakers but for these and some foamposites I will make exceptions. I was a broke highschool student in 2011 when these dropped last time so I treated myself to getting torn up on stock x. I absolutely love these shoes and am a sucker for anything air max from the 90s

Could the comfort difference be that they moved the brand from “Basketball” to “Lifestyle”, so they changed the setup from performance to something more akin to a running line?

@@ScheKitoff i meant the tech setup. It would explain why the foam feels different, the max unit is smaller, etc… bulky has always been this shoe’s build, but if they are tinkering around with the specs, that could be a different department putting together the shoe.
Personally i love the penny shoe line; but if you don’t, that’s cool, too…

so yeah, sadly, nike made it another super limited release. i was literally in front of my computer, waiting for it to drop on their site. I also opened Sneakers app, but I had to update it and redo my registration for some reason. By the time I signed on, it was like 9:58 am, still 2 minutes before the official release. But it was too late. On the app, it said, "draw closed." i was like, "huh?" Since when did Snkrs app start doing draws before the launch date? I tried other third party sites, but they were also sold out. This is why I'm not really into sneakers like i used to be. When they make everything limited, including a classic like OG Penny Air Max, that's when i check out. This artificial limiting of shoes has honestly killed my joy for sneakers. Like I surrendered when they started doing it with collaborations with social status and ben and jerry and grateful dead and travis scotts or whatever. A shoe like this though? OG Penny Max should be a general release widely available at Foot Locker, Finishline, etc. It's been 11 years. but hey, i guess this business model is working for nike. I'm old school, so i don't tolerate this stuff. i have plenty of shoes, so i don't have to buy another pair in my life if nike doesn't want my business.

I need these in a size 15 and nobody has them. These are the only must haves for me this year. I hate when they do small releases of shoes like this but there are 15 color ways of Jordan 1s sitting everywhere. Really salty right now. I’d pay $300 + for them

Been trying to get these but no luck 😔. I was able to get both colors of the Social Status Penny 1s tho. Took your advise and went a half size down so I’m hoping the Social Status Pennys fit like these. Most likely made on the same molds as these but you never know with the different materials how they will fit

I got mine from extra butter on their release toys year. I love the look as always, but as you mentioned, they heel fit is like a flip flop. Also, they're not comfortable at all. The low level of comfort or lack thereof makes me wonder whether I got fakes.
