this has become my favorite part the game. you want a pro tip? take your SRV into the base. You can park it next to buildings, drop of loot/data, grab e breaches when you need them, etc. Also makes for a quick getaway if things go sideways.
You can also upload more malware to all the data ports of the same settlement, and it will give you merits for each one, plus you can also download information from those data ports that you can deliver to your power contacts, plus you can get items from the powerplay containers that you can also deliver to your contacts to get more merits
@@houligan5254 haha, I got confused with how to begin in Odyssey. I did the tutorial, it got stuck, and I gave up. I didn't touch it again since, and I don't remember much from the tutorial.
@@houligan5254 I tried playing again today, and bounced because of how long it took to jump from system to system. The game is just offputting in too many ways. I keep it installed in case FDev ever pull it together.
Gameranx I just saw a game on there that looked just like Odyssey or on foot ED. Same exact Hud. I was a game from a few years back. Not sure what to think of that?
When you use the terminal you should see "Power Container" or something similar. Just select it like the alarm panel or data port and your HUD should mark it.
58 merits... that's it? Meanwhile hauling a load of rare commodities 200 LY gets me 3090 merits in a under 20 minute round trip and that's doing it the slow way with no carrier. They need to rethink some numbers, and I don't mean nerf-hammering the rare hauling. (edit: of course they nerf hammered the rare hauling)
@@vnrider1500yea folks do all of this 10 billion credits in 2 seconds stuff and then say the game is boring. I think PP 2 has added some roleplay atmosphere if you take your time and get into your Power instead of cranking out merits.
It's fun doing this. Combine it with missions and material gathering. But it's extremely slow compared to doing Rare Goods and Bounty Hunting. I mean, it's REALLY slow. Since PP2.0 I almost exclusively did undermining on foot and I barely got any rank.
@@houligan5254 Lets say I raided a base with 18 NPCs (guards and civs) 3 data ports and 2 lockers and left earning 900-1500 merits after killing everyone, upload/download and swiping the lockers, I would be satisfied with that result for the time needed for that.

All good points. I just wanted something to show people what to do to start with. Since there was a lot of confusion in the community how to begin.

@@Orosian5 I have a walkthrough on the Odyssey 'tutorial' also posted with commentary. That mission isn't the most straightforward.

Every time I hear the footsteps when disembarking I think of Resident Evil.
Nice thanks for this. Looking forward to more hint and tips.
That was super smooth
Yo, do the merits decay or nah?

I for some reason can only upload 1 per settlement but yeah you can download from each data port---but where are those salvagables

maybe in not just about getting as many credits as fast as you can but having fun on the way

Damn, and here i'm gathering on foot mats in anarchy system. I didn't know that u can get merits in the pp2
Pretty much every activity rewards merits if you do it in a powerplay system.
@@houligan5254 yea and now the entire feds are hunting me down.
58 merit, and you need 250 000 for the first module. You only have to do this like 4310 times.
You can also loot powerplay containers at the base to sell and you get merits (like 1) per NPC kill.
Even with that, yeah, its slow.

Yeah, FDev needs to bump the payout to like 500 merits at least.

How many merits is this action worth?
58
You're stationed on a desolate planet in the middle of nowhere and ship touches down just outside. Ehh no biggy, shotgun to back.
I had to up my volume by 20dB LOL
Fixed through: 5, 4, 3, 2...😂
