The sounds are insane. Brings a new understanding. You by far covered this storm the best, giving us a understanding of what reality was. Thankful you are safe and many thanks.
It was horrific thank you for your video New Orleans Louisiana was like a second home to me all of my life we lived down in Jefferson Parish loved New Orleans
Watched the whole live stream you did that day, 10+ hours. Man that was an experience, ive been in a few Hurricanes myself over the years, i live in FL, but this one was scary, glad you are safe and sound, thank you for the experience Aaron!
I watched you live as you were punching through the eye wall. Watching you driving through that wind and rain a virtual whiteout made me so afraid for you. I was worried you were going to run into a tree ,a house, a boat or a cow. Or that a storm surge was going to wipe you off the road. I'm glad you survived IDA! You provide did some really awesome live coverage.
@@AaronJayjack As I watch you dance with danger I'm always glad I'm not your mom, lol. I love to watch MMA and motorcycle stunt riders and am always glad my own son engages in less dangerous activities. Stay safe out there!
Thank you for letting us ride shotgun. One thing I learned from Ida is, never could I ever do a real life hurricane and, 2nd thing I learned is man those stop signs can take a pounding!! Praying for everyone impacted.
Looks like sheet metal in the south needs to be weighted down to stop it from destruction of not only their own property but others as well Great footage Aaron ty, glad you're safe🙏
We used to play this game in Florida when we had hurricane season where you can only play if it was a category 3 or higher and when winds reach speeds up to 110 is when the timer starts you have to face the wind of the hurricane and whoever can open up the car door first and get out and make it inside the house got to pick whatever they ate for dinner that night
The reason is because the morning before Ida made landfall the National Weather Center and every media outlet was telling people that the storm would be a Cat 3 with winds of 130 mph, and that Houma would probably be on the "good side" of the storm. So, very few people as far inland as Houma expected this storm to be a major threat. Houma was only expecting "maybe 100 mph winds". Because nobody told them the truth - which is that this storm made landfall in Fourchon with sustained winds of 190 mph and gusts higher than 220. By the time the weather pro's told everyone it would be Cat 4 -- it was too late to board up. And to this day, the weather pro's are still not telling the truth. And every commercial boat in southeast Louisiana knows it. Because they've all got radar and wind gauges. And what this video shows is a cake walk compared to what happened further south.
@@gman21266 I don't know. All the sources I was watching was calling for it to strengthen. And I have personally been in 75+ storms and seen fences ripped from the posts and flung into things. I guess they must have really felt safe to not board up. I'm sad to see so much damage and hope they can recover soon. HUGS
@@gman21266 100% correct as I remember it. I had to force my dad to let me help him board up windows at my parents bc they weren't going to. I was the only one watching an independent forcaster and had to convince them and the rest of my family that it was gonna be way worse than the meteorologists on wvue wwl and fox8 were saying. My parents house was hit pretty bad in Ida. And also yes on the radar/wind readings. My husband rode ida out on his boat and sent me photos of the wind readings. It absolutely was worse than anyone said it would be.
@@thinqaboutit5301 - Do you still have those pictures of the wind readings?? If so, please please please add me on Facebook and send to me in a message.

I use a 1969 Chrysler Imperial as a storm chaser. Safe as milk. She’s got so many debris and hail dents it looks like it has fish scales!
I bet the body on that thing can stand up to storms much better than my 2019 crosstrek!
Thanks for the footage bro
Where you near the Regions Bank building when a roof just down the street came off? I saw it on Reed's recap.
I was somewhere nearby in that area. Reed and I passed each other and chatted several times.
@@AaronJayjack Yes was watching both your live feeds around noon EST time when you chatted for the first time. lol

I think you're loco. But thanks for the great coverage. 😉
hahaha glad you enjoyed the coverage :) and thanks for watching.
Thx!!! Great footage!!!

Wow. But I notice none of the store fronts were boarded up in Houma. Were they not expecting to be in the path? thanks for vid.
Not many were boarded up. Not sure why. Maybe they wanted new windows with insurance money.

El Paso is a Mexican restaurant in that strip mall that you can see behind Popeye’s and Waffle House.
