I think the thrill of PPU and HHC, etc., comes in the first year or two when a person is new to the indie scene. I still find one or two sporadically that I want to buy, and if I'm a good girl, I just let the deadline pass, and then I forget about the polishes.
I agree PPU is repetitive, and costs a lot of money . I think I have asked before, please do a topper serious, your combinations are brilliant, when you do your monthly manicure videos I get inspiration from you. It’s such a great way to use up my collection . Thank you for this video, reminded me of Polish I can use to do future manicures. It’s very much appreciated 🥰
I’m sure seeing your savings helps motivate to keep going. I’m in the process of going through every polish in my helmers and putting them in Airtable with descriptions. It is a huge project but seeing my polishes and putting them in their correct color drawer is a great help for a low buy 😊
Yes it actually has been super helpful! Especially keeping track of what I do end up buying. Buying one or two polishes every time I go to Walmart or tjmaxx really adds up and it helps to actually see it written down. Same with keeping track of what I dupe! AND what I actually wear of my dupes. It’s shows me that if I had bought all the polishes, I wouldn’t have even worn many of them yet!! Also when I first decided to start swatching my collection a few years ago, it was a huge undertaking! And this was before I even had the amount of polish I have now. It took me months to slowly swatch everything and organize them into folders by brand. But now I absolutely love having all my swatch pictures to look at and be able to compare.
I can’t tell you how much I love your bangs! So absolutely flattering on you and takes years off however “young” you are. 😉. A helpful tip for side swept bangs that go in your face…Lightly spray the underside w hairspray in the side/direction that you want them to stay. That keeps them off your face and out of your eye.
👏 👏 👏 I'm definitely going to be even more picky this year with what I purchase. I still have a LOT of untrieds to go thru, and havent reworn a favourite in AGES! ❤
You saved a nice amount of money! Once in a while, I want to see what PPU has and enjoy seeing what others have bought, but I've lost the need to buy. Your dupes always are great to me! TFS!
Since watching your channel, you've definitely encouraged me to shop my stash and attempt duping or at least creating something that creates the vibe of a polish I may be looking at but know I don't really need to buy. TFS!
👋👋I love your duping and toppers videos. I have to discipline myself as I may be cutting my work hours and it's beginning to get uncomfortably expensive buying as many nail polishes as I did last year. TFS 😍💅👏
I find the more polishes I have, the less value each new shade brings to me. So the really expensive indies are harder and harder to justify. Last year I bought my first Mooncat (Sagebrush) because I’ve wanted to try a thermal finish and it’s the first one I’ve seen where I love both warm and cold state equally. But otherwise Mooncat’s price point is too high for me.
I agree and mooncat has zero consistency between polishes/batches. House of Hades is a perfect two coats for some and a streaky three coat mess for others.

Omg same! The first couple years were so exciting. Brands I had never heard of, all in one place. Everything new and unique. Not so much anymore

Thank you! Yes it is on my list of videos to do. I am just contemplating how to go about it 😬
What a great idea to share your savings that you created by duping polishes. I agree we are starting to see very similar colors from PPU.
Thank you!! It’s fun and helpful to actually see it laid out. It’s also a fun recap on what I duped throughout the year.

Great savings and very few times do I remember a polish from last month. Every once in awhile, there’s a special one that we don’t forget.
Exactly! Out of site out of mind!! 😃

Oh great tip! I will try that next time I style my hair 😃 thank you

Me too and same!!

Thank you! I think I’ll always want to at least look but not really feel the urge to buy.

Polish has gotten soooo expensive now!! And shipping is higher too
well, i'd say you did a great job duping those polishes! They look great, even if some were not spot on. Congrats!
Thank you 😊 sometimes I’m amazed at how spot on I get and other times complete fails! But most times it’s at least passable 😬
I agree totally with you about PPU. I have a gift card to use and I haven’t seen anything that interests me in about 7 months.
Kind of sad but also kind of a relief at the same time!!
i think ur dupes look way better
Wow thank you 😊
