Rewatching this movie after watching GMA's Maria Clara at Ibarra. I'm looking forward for Elias appearance to the teleserye, my favorite character from the book. It's also nice to see again Leopoldo Salcedo as Elias. Sana ganyan din pagkakaganap ni Rocco Nacino sa show. Ibang klase acting ni Leopoldo, ramdam mo yung emotions niya. :)

Does anybody realize the historical relevance of this classic? Still applies to the present state of Philippine society and how it has shaped the present status of the populace and the government that is supposedly looking after the welfare of its citizens.
Jose Rizal clearly saw the realities besetting the Filipinos then, and its no different now, only the mere fact is that present day cabels of rulers are sensitized to the economic deprivation of the populace ....Money and power are all that matters to the hierarchy...

Calamba Laguna po ako at first time napanunood yan ang Noli Me Tangere sa TH-cam na alam natin na pinag-aralan yan noong High School days, Grade 9, lol 😊😊
Ngayon tuwing June 19 at December 30 ito ang pinapanunood ko bilang specials kay Rizal at alam po natin na hindi lang mga Pilipino alam si Jose Rizal, maging sa Indonesia at Malaysia 😊😊
Ngayon araw ay Buhayani Festival sa Calamba bilang paggunita ng kaarawan ni Rizal so hope to enjoying this movie 😊😊

The novel itself looks real... as if it actually happened even though it is fictional... The novel hits me like reflection in reality not only they faced in the spanish period, the novel reflects the characteristics of 'we' filipinos today :) What remains to some is the spanish influences

Actually, it is not fictional at all. The Spanish people gave Rizal a chance to live if he signed a contract that states that all the events that happened in Noli Me Tangere are fictional but he refused and chose to die. Everything that happened in the novel happened in the Spanish colonial period. Rizal wrote it to make the Spanish people provide the Filipinos with fair treatment, but instead, they got mad and sentenced Jose Rizal to death.

Noli Me Tangere is a great book and after reading the book you realize that there are many messages included in the paragraphs. Jose Rizal spoke twenty-two languages and wrote correspondence in six. In the early morning hours of December 30, 1896 he was executed by a Spaniard firing squad. Worst than this crime is forget is work.
