The two songs sang by Tony Leung has a Hong Kong pop style, also popular in Taiwan. They are catchy tunes and are addictive, but far from being "classical". There were many Taiwanese composers/singers who were departing from this "classical" Chinese/China style. Steve Chow Chi Ping can compose in both styles well. But the compositions in the "modern" or "less eastern" style are very simplistic, yet are masterpieces. Like the Canon in D by Pachelbel. However, unlike the Canon, these modern simple masterpieces has lyrics, include concepts that are suitable to be understood by modern society, and written in everyday/casual linguistics. In my thinking, these concepts are not necessarily restricted to love/romance, but are universal. Though most would associate the words in the lyrics with the tumultuous and eventful experience called romantic love (or romance.) Mr Fei (Little Brother) sings the song "You are hard to forget", but he is so in love with the musics/songs/chords/etc 🎶 🎵🎶🎶 and have finally found the words to express. However, he never had to wear a mask to disguise those feelings. Julian Cheung Chilam recently sang this song in a MV. I get the point of the MV.
