I finally figured out it’s phenoxyethanol that causes this for me. Which is tricky as it’s in a lot.

Wow, sorry to see there aren’t anymore of your current videos but I did take away some info regarding scalp issues. Just ordered the apple cider scalp product and saved a bundle because of Amazon’s Prime Black Friday offers. I’ve used the scalp scrubber for over a year and love the way it feels and stimulates my scalp. I’m 90% gray and feel amazingly free. Started the process after Covid hit and our company sent us home permanently to work. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous, pixie or long.

I actually had the exact same scenario happen to me and the ketoconazole shampoo cured my problem. I keep it on hand just in case but the problem has not recurred. I put off going to the doctor just like you did. I don't know why we do that. Glad you found relief.

It is so ridiculous that we avoid going for so long when after I went I had relief in about 8 to 10 days. I can see me hanging on to the ends of it just in case as well!

Yes my scalp is itchy! Then I don't know what started happening first, the itching or the hair loss. But after watching your video I'm going to mention it to my doctor. Thanks

Thank you for your video, this has helped me alot. I have an itchy burning scalp. Especially after I wash my hair. This has been going on for 5 years. Going to the Dermatologist for medication. I love your hair. I'm so glad I found you. God bless.
Keep up the good work on your videos.
    We need you.

So glad it was helpful. That fire scalp burning is not a good feeling. I hope the dermatologist is helpful. ♥️

Ive suffered with this for years. What I do is spray a mixture of one part acv with one part water and 10 drops of tea tree oil into my scalp using a spray bottle every morning and use the ketoconozole/nizoral shampoo once or twice a week. It's working so far after a couple of weeks.

My scalp has been itching like crazy. It has been ever since I move and have different municipal water.

So frustrating! I have been thinking about getting a water softener system from my house.

@@CarrieJessica me too, but they are very expensive. Just so you know, my scalp has been itchy way way longer than 9 months. Maybe time to go to Dr. I worry about the shampoo as I follow the curly girl method and have gray hair...ugh.

When I get a middle of the night itchy attack I use the Cantu root rinse for scalps. It cools the itch down and then I can sleep and wash in the morning.

    • @CarrieJessica

Thats great! I haven't tried Cantu, I know Curlsmith has a line people really like too. I am about to try the one from Original Moxie.

I had been experiencing hair loss for a couple of years before I finally went to a Dermatologist in Feb 2020. They are treating me for Seb Derm and prescribed Ketoconazole 2x per week and Triamcinolone (steroid) scalp jet sprays. They also gave me a topical steroid solution but it burned so I'm no longer using it. Like you, I opted out of the biopsy because treatment was going to be the same. A few months before I went to the Derm I also noticed hair color was making my scalp burn and turn bright red. The Derm suggested I stop coloring so I did. Now 10 months in some of my hair is growing back, but I still fight an itchy/irritated scalp within 24 hours so I wash everyday. I came across CGM in Jan 2020 and am using Jessicurl unscented shampoo/cond. For stylers I use Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in and AG Recoil, but nothing touches my scalp, only the shampoo. For clarifying I use Trader Joes Tea Tree every so often. I did change to Innersense over the summer to see if itching subsided, but it didn't so back to Jessicurl. I attempted to have my demarcation line "blended" a couple weeks ago and the medium brown on bottom turned an orange brassy color ( I was devastated). So I had her cut 4 inches off, (husband now devastated) but I didn't do the full pixie so now I am in possession of this Overtone Coloring Conditioner in Pastel Silver (even though I thought I ordered Vibrant Silver) and that's how I came across your youtube. Did you feel the Overtone was worth it at all? I see that you've since cut your hair again. It looks great! I think I might also try the ACV products you discussed.

Oh we are scalp sisters! I am so sorry that trying to blend your demarcation ended up a nightmare. I have used and liked Overtone. It did help blend it a bit but washes out rather quickly. I am not sure if I kept my length if I would have continued purchasing it because I actually didn't mind my demarcation line, I just wanted to see what to would do.

Have you considered product build-up as part of the cause? I’ve heard that many CGM followers have had similar issues due to using leave-ins that aren’t suited to wavy hair, and also not clarifying their wavy hair regularly. Personally, I know when I’m going too long between clarifying by my itchy, irritated scalp. Just a thought 🤷‍♀️

I've had issues my whole life, but I'm in a place with very hard water, so it's gotten even worse. I've tried so many things. I even has the script. It's not working....... I'm gonna get the scalp massage brush and use it with it. It's so maddening. I did get a scalp exfoliating shampoo from Grove. It's their exclusive line called Terra. It's helped thus far....... there's no cure, so hoping something will give me decent tolerable relief.

I’m scrub having the same problem with my scalp! I got a salt scrub in my ipsy box and it started to help, then i got a cream to rub on the scalp and leave it and it helped a lot. I’m going to get the ketkonazole shampoo you spoke about. Glad I tuned in today 🥰

The Ketkonazole shampoo helped me some, but the minute I quit using it, it came back even worse. That is the problem with pretty much anything I use. It works for a while and then comes back worse. I sweat at night and there is nothing I can do about that. The back of my head and neck just stays broken out.

I've seen two dermatologists and use the prescription Ketoconazole Nizeral shampoo (leave it on about 5-10 minutes) as well as Clobetasol and they are not helping very much. I stopped coloring my hair 4 months ago and use very little hair product. The itch is driving me nuts!

I have tried the dpHUE, Briogeo, AG and the perscription ketokonozole. Ketokonozole is a bit drying, but it helps the longest (like months). I've not used Giovanni but may give it a try. Not fond of the huge salt chunks in the dpHUE. Ends up on the tub floor.

I'm on the same shampoo from my doctor, but it doesn't help much. I need to see a skin specialist. I have eczema on my scalp, on the back of my head.

    • @tonyawhitten5199

Me either. It helped a bit and then it stopped working. My Dr would not let me use it over a month either.
