    What a wonderful machine, I’d always imagined that it was a ponderous, unwieldy device but it actually a bit of a hot rod. Amazing!

    Great flying, great commentary, as usual. So informative! Beautiful Lysander wings. Amazing how they get an aircraft that size up so quickly......and down so slowly. Thanks for a most enjoyable flight, just like I was in the cockpit...and knew what I was doing. :-)

    So cool, Big engine big sound , Dad flew WW2, some times in the car he'd say Full Pitch full Rich and release the brakes, we roll through the intersection laughing...... Out of all the airplane stuff I want to see a snow ski landing and take off with narration. Thanks for the ride see ya later.

      My dad used to say "Switches off, off, off." He was a spitfire pilot in the RAF, and I always assumed that was from his flying procedure.

    Loved this airplane, as a kid of 12 in 1963 I never missed a single TV Program of "Moonstrike" after it started, it was also one of my most treasured Airfix models, (that and my Sunderland Flying Boat) of which I had 52 in all. Fantastic to see that a few still exist.

    Dave many thanks love your video and the skilful way you deal with the dear old Lizzie, wonder if Ted Petter is checking you out from up there he would be delighted.
    Just yours and Shuttleworths still fly worthy presently?

    • @davehadfield5906
      @davehadfield5906  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I admire the whole Petter contribution to British engineering, which took place during 100 years, immensely.
      I flew our Lysander 2000 miles last summer to OSH and back. Strenuous journey ;) and I have a video about that being edited right now.
      There are 3 Lizzies flying AFAIK: ours, Shuttleworth's, and the one at Duxford.
      Not sure of the status of the rebuild in Belgium.

      On light aircraft no, your feet simply react to keep it straight. On high-powered aircraft where the rudder trim must be pre-set, you wouldn't want to get it wrong.

    It it a challenge to go from P factor being one way with some planes and the other with planes like this?

    • @davehadfield5906
      @davehadfield5906  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much -- your foot just does what it has to do to keep the aircraft straight. But in the higher-powered fighters, where you have to pre-set the rudder-trim, you would not want to get that wrong.

    Hello Dave. Do you have an electric air pump to improve the braking ?

    • @davehadfield5906
