      @OWEN FLORENCE The current 6.7 Ford Powerstroke is an in-house design but previous powerstroke motors were made by International. Duramax is a joint GM-Isuzu design. Only the 6.2 and 6.5 IDI engines were designed by Detroit Diesel which GM owned at the time.

    • @rich7447
      @rich7447 ปีที่แล้ว

      One reason is that we can, and do, tow a lot more weight than would be allowed in Europe. The maximum gross combined weight in the US is 26,000 lbs, but most states have RV exemptions which allow you to tow far more recreationally. We have fifth wheel RVs that this truck would not be rated to tow, which is why we have class 3 trucks (this is a class 2b). You see fifth wheel trailers that are 40+ feet long and are rated at 26,000 lbs by themselves. Add in 8,500+ lbs of truck to tow them and you need a bit of power when you hit the mountains.

      @@AD28197 I live in the US, where 99% of these trucks are sold, and it’s every inch a heavy duty truck here, as far as the truck market is concerned anyway. I’m not confused, I understand that it’s technically and legally a “light duty truck” but it’s also a pickup that can tow 19,000 lbs, and there’s nothing ‘light duty’ about that. The engine is perfect for what the truck is designed to be able to do: tow construction equipment/giant trailers/big heavy whatever across the country with power to spare, get decent fuel economy while doing that, and to be able to do that for 500,000 miles or more before needing to be replaced.

      @@alexandersavoie121 guess different countries have different specifications. My apologies for the assumptions.

      What engine specs would you prefer to see for something that can tow 8 tonnes?

    You should memorise your lines and just say them. You sound like you’re reading word for word.
    What a tank of a vehicle though.
