Boot Camp is exactly what I needed this summer and I thought perhaps you might welcome it too. To join, simply watch the video and leave a comment as to your commitment to join and/or progress made. Thanks for joining us, Vickie & Mark ~ Avante Avenue
What a fantastic sale! Congratulations!
Thanks so much Maxine! Appreciate it!
PS Great job with the photos Mark. Those bowls will sell quickly because of them.
Mark said thank you and as to the bowls....well....we'll let you know in the next Boot Camp video....
Great sale!!! Wahoo.
Thank you Terry!
Great job editing, Vickie. It's apparent that you enjoy making videos and have some fun with it, too. I know editing videos takes a lot of time, but it can be such a nice creative outlet!
Thank you for your recognition of my editing. YES, it does take a LOT of time. LOL. That's why I needed to start Boot Camp to make myself find better balance between videos and listing. I do consider it a very creative outlet. Every video is a little work of "art" and I give it my best. It's never perfect but I enjoy it and keep going. Thank you!
Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Thank you for being professional!
You are so welcome Marie! Can you believe that many decades ago, I had a boyfriend who criticized me for being "Too professional?" Thank goodness I found Mark! Thank you!
I enjoy watching reseller youtube and your voice and demeanor is so calming. Thank your sharing your sales, picks and knowledge.
Oh thank you! You are so welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes! A tutorial on shipping policies would be great! I also would like to know how to set up a handling fee. Thanks!
Sound good. Lots of interest so it's on my to do list. I do have a handling fee in use too. Thank you!
Thank you both for sharing you have a blessed day in the name of Jesus Christ.
Thank you Tim!
I really enjoyed this style of video. Now eating my snack while listing & catching up with my favorite TH-camr content. I usually take the summer to list any death pile items, walk through house & etc for things that could be sold, do inventory check and tweak any active listings. Yes, I have a store & most definitely use business polices for my listings😊
Hope you had a good snack! Thank you so much and it sounds like your walk through will yield items to list! Thank you!
What a fabulous sale! The set was so cute.
I was able to get up 4 listings and made 2 drafts.
Thank you Pam! Congrats on your listings....list away!
Thank you for getting me motivated. Enjoy the details you provide in your videos. I would enjoy a video on your business policies.
Love that! Thank you Lynn! Got it.
Wow! Awesome sale 🎉
Thank you!
The swan salt cellar set was beautiful, great sale. Loved the little angel candle holders you found. I have a pile of new sewing patterns i have pulled to list o er a month ago. Thank you for getting my butt in gear to list them.
Thank you Maggie! Yes, get those patterns listed. Thanks!
So happy for your Silver Salt Cellar Sale!! And good luck with your boot camp. I definitely believe that consistent listings result in consistent sales. I do what I can in that regard and your videos always give me motivation in doing so.
Thank you Pat and yes, just do what you can. We are not 30 somethings trying to live off of ebay, nor do most of us have the desire to work that hard.
This reminds me of a Real Estate Sales Boot Camp I did before I retired, but they made me cry until I toughened up. Ty for sharing.
That’s a tough boot camp! I worked for a realtor as a mortgage broker. I took the course to be a realtor but waited a year to take the test and missed it by one point! No one made me cry though. That’s really tough love. I hope my videos never make you cry. Thank you, Georgia!
@@AvanteAvenue It served me well & I really enjoyed helping others find their dream homes. I was #4 in my office at one point. I bet you were an awesome mortgage broker. I worked with a couple that really made my job much easier. Ty again for these videos.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Fran! Love it when I see so many hearts!
Hi. I list at least 5 items 5 days out of 7. Weekends I list how many I have time for. Last Saturday there was a pop up estate sale by my favorite estate company. I got lucky. Lots of linens. I got about 8 sets. Pottery barn, shabby chic and ralph lauren. Also got an offer to come back Saturday afternoon and take what I want of what's left at a bulk deal.
That's fantastic! Keep it going while enjoying sales. I have lots of linens but haven't listed many. Good for you Sandy!
great video. yes i love your tutorials
Glad you like them! Thank you Laura!
I use the business policies for shipping. Thanks for the video
You're welcome and thank you Shelia!
Starting Boot Camp a week behind. Your videos are sooooo helpful. Looking forward to seeing this thru as long as it goes! Thank you for providing the remedy for the "summer slump" at least that's what I've been experiencing! Love the items you're selling!
Never too late! Thanks Jan for joining us! Thru.....the end of August! I'm hoping this sets us all up for even better sales this fall. Thank you!
Had several days that I wasn’t able to list but am trying to get on track. Thanks Vickie!
I hear you. It's not always easy. You've got this Diane!
A very fun video as always and you’ve inspired me this Monday morning! Those green glasses at the end… my parents had those and I can picture them in our old kitchen cupboard! I’d love to see how Mark photographs belts because I always struggle to keep them coiled up and looking nice. Thank you!
Thank you and thanks for sharing your precious memory! I completely get that. Every time I see the Corelle green daisy plates it takes me back "home." We don't list very many belts but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
🥰🥰🥰
Thank you Vicki!
To answer the questions: no, I don't have a store. Ebay opted me into the business policies quite a while ago now and I didn't like it. Still don't but when I found how to opt back out, they had changed the whole format, at least it seemed so to me. I kind of like making each shipping policy depending on what I am listing. Anyway, I changed back to business policies and had to do some re-adjusting because of the switch back and forth but I only have 100 listings so it wasn't a catastrophe! I always like your tutorials and I'm sure some of your followers would also get quite a bit from this one. I'm not quite on-board with the boot camp but it is inspirational. Good job!
I hear you Lynne and 100 listings is manageable for updating shipping policies individually. Thank you!
Thank you for the motivation! I'm about to leap big into eBay.....
You are so welcome Corky! I had a cousin who's nickname was Corky. Thanks and welcome to ebay!
You are right. Anything is better than nothing. I am traveling but will be back home end of June and I have the whole month of July to list before I travel in August. So I am going to commit to listing in July. Marking this in my calendar. Thanks for the nudge!
Join us anytime Brenda! Thank you!
These videos are great, Vickie! So much information, with everyday stuff mixed in are a joy to watch.
I’m not doing the boot camp because my full time job doesn’t allow for it, but these videos definitely motivate me to be mindful of my time. I do have an eBay store and I use the shipping policies. They’ve made a difference in how quickly I can get listings up, though I do have to remind myself to double check that I’ve got the correct one selected for that item. Your video reminded me it’s been awhile since I checked that they don’t need to be cleaned up, so thank you!
Thank you and boot camp is there for when you are able to participate. It's all up to you and your schedule, of course. Thanks!
I got delayed a bit this week but had some surprise sales, a few things that I didn't think would ever sell.
Love surprise sales! Woohoo for you! Yes, some older and odd items are selling... Thank you!
I use business policies and would be very interested in seeing a video. I have just tweaked my shipping policies again. I also love watching your shipping videos with glass and breakables. I have some glass I want to sell and I need to just dive in and give it a try.
Thank you Denise! Glad really isn't hard, it just takes a little extra time to think it through and good boxes and packing materials. Thanks!
Yes. We have a store, use the business policies, and yes, the Shipping Policies. We've had an eBay glitz however on one in particular and have been in contact with them and the assurance it would get corrected. This was a month ago - and a couple of follow ups have NOT resolved this issue - so, I have had to move approximately 1400 listings into a new policy I am not particularly happy with - but it is a hopefully a temporary glitch. Mark does wonderfully with the photos. I appreciate your sharing on the variations listings - something I have not YET done, but would like to use. Thank you. We took a Friday-Sunday family trip so no listings - but we did end and re-list as similar on a few items. This morning - Monday - it won't be until quite late before new listings will get up. Heading out for the day right now. You tagged along while I put my makeup on! LOL!
Sorry to hear about your issues. I hope you were able to "bulk edit" to update your business policies. Hope you got your makeup on straight...LOL. Sometimes, mine is not so much. Thanks!
I would love to see a video addressing shipping policies. As of tomorrow, June 12, I am committing to 14 listings per week for boot camp. Great idea!
On my To Do list! Good for you and thanks for joining Reseller Boot Camp!
I've been listing 5-8 a day for the past week (minus 1 day)
Thanks for this bootcamp reminder! I need to up my game this summer!
I hit up 2 community sales this weekend as well
Good for you! We hit sales on Friday but "worked ebay" on Saturday. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your experiences.....I would love to see a shipping policies video...I struggled with that
You are so welcome Barbara! Got it. Lots of interest!
Thank you for another great video. I've watched lots of resellers. I think you are going to be the one that helps me to actually start listing. Idk what I'm so afraid of. Mistakes I guess
You’re welcome, Gigi! We all make mistakes. I still make mistakes. But I try my best to learn from it and not make it again. Lol. But I do sometimes. Is there anything in particular that you are afraid of? If it happens to be shipping, check out my playlists on our channel because I have shown how I’ve packed hundreds of items. Thank you!
@@AvanteAvenue I'll definitely be watching those. I'll probably watch all of your videos. Listing things wrong worries me some. And the taxes worries me
As far as taxes, watch the TH-cam channel called “not your dad’s CPA.” He has a video that talks about filing on a “cash basis” that’s the way resellers can file their taxes.
And, get a notebook and start writing down everything you buy, what day and how much you spent. And always track your mileage starting and ending when you are doing anything reselling related.
@AvanteAvenue You are such a Blessing! Thank you!
Pre Big C lockdown, I used to deadlift 250lbs. I still work full-time. I try to do 5 listings a day to my Etsy, but it can be a struggle. I’m also contemplating launching eBay for my ephemera. Y’all are one of my favorite reseller couples, esp cause we are close in age & similar values. I think y’all are adorable.
WOW! Double wow! Triple wow! The most I've benched is 30 lbs. and that was a very long time ago. Life does get in the way of our listing. Just do what you can. As I said in the video, something is better than zero. Thanks!
Yes, we have a store and yes I use the shipping business rule. And no tutorial needed for me. Thanks
Good to know. Thank you Lisa!
Swans are represented all over the famous Neuschwanstein Castle in the German Alps.
I would love to see a video on business policies, please.
Good to know. It's on my to do list. Thank you!
😀
Thank you, Roxie!
Listed 12 things in 4 day
Woohoo! Great job! Thank you!
I have an ebay store and I would love to see a tutorial on the use of business policies
Got it! Thanks!
I don't have a store. Yet. But as I increase per day the number of listings, I eventually will need to open the store. If sales come in better. 1 per week I don't think is enough to pay for even the smallest store. Yes, I am interested in watching a video on business policies and shipping. So far this past week I was able to increase my new listings by 3, as well as keep up with sell similar with the ones that were expiring. Tomorrow I will fail, we will be gone all day and I don't have a reserve in drafts that have pictures. So, hope to catch up through the week to keep up the average of 3 extra new listing for each day, for the week
I hear you. I think I switched over at 300 listings or so. I just like all the features that come with stores and the 10,000 "free" listings. Paying per listing can hold one back from adding new listings. Thanks for sharing Pamela and list away!
I'm in! My goal right now is to boost my listings from 5 to 7 a day. To do this, I am trying to get a draft bank of at least 50 items. I have more unlisted inventory than I want to mention - I have like 1000 items clothing in storage plus I just got a hard goods lot from a estate sale on consignment. Thrifting is a thing I need to take a break on. So my goal is draft 7 a day, 5 will go live and 2 into the draft bank. As soon as that draft bank gets to 50 I'm going to start releasing 7 a day then drafting 7 more and sticking them in the draft bank. I list on 5 platforms and use Vendoo. Hope that was not too long-winded!
Sounds like a great goal! Drafting 50 items? Now that could be hard to do but good for you! Haven't tried Vendoo. I'm still looking for the perfect lister at the perfect price. Thanks Niki!
Yes I'd love to see how you word & handle shipping policies.
I'm shutting down my Flea Market Booth & thinking eBay is the way to go. I'm trying to learn what I can until I get things packed up from the booth.
Selling in vendor malls and flea markets can be challenging. They can't stay open 24/6 - 365 days a year. I wish you well Georgia as you take on ebay! Thank you!
@@AvanteAvenue thank you
I couldn’t find WK won a boot camp, so I’m starting on week two

Thank you for all the knowledge you share with us.
My pleasure! Thankyou Jean!
I think I have been pricing my items too low. I had a set of anchor hocking blue water Goblets. I checked comps. It seems as if people give items away just to get a sale. I would love to list glasses for 49.99. If I did I don't think I would be able to sell them.
Pricing high does require setting sales or accepting offers. There's a saying that there is a buyer for everything (at any price?) Thanks Sandy!
Enjoyed your video Vickie! The Silver Salt Cellar sale was sweet! I would like to see a tutorial on shipping policies. Can you explain when you start in the shipping process, is it during listing or as a buyer buys the item? Measurements, weight of an item etc. On the white set of dishes, in the box, it stated $5.00 on the box, would you still use the box regardless since one is not able to remove the price? Thanks
Got it. That's great and thank you! It starts when listing. I've talked about it in so many videos but I can't remember which ones. And, "no" we will not use that box. It's not in any of the photos and will be reboxed. We are always very careful not to use anything that shows what we paid....other than....vintage patterns that have hard to remove labels get this info, "Sold at current value, regardless of original price marked." Thanks Zelma!
I love your videos! I have been listing some records and figurines. Question about selling used clothes: do you wash them before photographing/shipping?
We use a steamer instead of washing. Although, I do wash pre-owned, swim shorts. Thanks for asking!
I would love to know how to use the shipping policies. I do have a store
Sound good. Lots of interest so far. Thank you Iris!
No I do not use business policies - I have been selling since 2001 and am quicker than sorting through those business policies.
I didn't use too but with USPS raising their prices so often, the shipping policy has been very handy as it will update ALL the listings tied to a particular policy. Plus, we have over 2,700+ listings. Thanks Sara!
Vickie, do you take the labels off items? Like the goodwill, ect stickers. Or leave them on the item?
Yes, always, just not for some vintage patterns when they are hard to remove. That's when I add a note that reads, "Priced at current value, regardless of original price marked." Hope that helps and thank you Terry!

Thank you, Vickie
Have you been selling for a long time? I started my Ebay store in 2016. I was doing great until 2021 and then things slowly deteriorated. If I look back the inflation has been the culprit. People just don't have extra money to spend like we used to. I really hope Trump comes back into office. Love him or hate him the economy was so much better then. Fingers crossed for all of us!
We’ve been reselling most of the past 20 years. In any business we’ve had, sales have slowed during election years. We lost two retail stores after the 2008 crash. And, in my lifetime, I’ve seen 15% mortgage interest rates. It has been an exceptionally slow year on ebay. Wishing all of us a better economy and sales. Thank you, Olivia.
I use the business policy for shipping policies. I have to ‘clean them up’ periodically, especially when I use Sell Similar and it defaults to the other sellers’ policies!
Yes, have to watch the "sell similar" as well as my policies defaulting to one that is not what I want and I missed it. That's happened several times recently. Thanks Julia!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
