Night life in River North is incredible. A couple personal favorites are Andy's Jazz Club for jazz and Blue Chicago for blues.
Chicago siempre fue mi ciudad de ensueño desde pequeña e querido vivir allí y creo que esto me pasa por el simple echo de que Chicago en mi cabeza sueña como el jazz y blues simplemente increíble
this guy needs more subs. these videos are awesome, i’m always baffled that chicago related videos don’t get many views, like apartment tours, student vlogs and videos like this. what’s up with that!?
I really appreciate it! We're definitely gonna change that and put Chicago in a good light on TH-cam 😎
I live here in Chicago (born and raised) and in person River North is very captivating. I use to go down there all the time before COVID and I even went to the French program there. Love my city!
Yea River North has a lot to offer, the history is pretty interesting how it went from smoky factories to upscale restaurants and night life 😎
Literally the perfect video I needed. My gf and I plan on moving to River North in a couple years cause we fell in love with chi so much!!!
Having lived in River North for over 17 years, I definitely love the area and love the explosive growth it's had in that time making it all the more active. Nice work on this guide!
I have to say I’m happy to have found your great videos of my hometown! It just takes me back and makes me smile. I haven’t been back since I left in 73 as I have developed a phobia of flying. Only 2 blood relatives there are still alive. So not being able to go there in person, I have your videos to take me back. Big thanks! 🤗👍👍
take the train. anything to get you there. i'm going next week and have been watching all of his videos to prepare me. hope you make it back someday. such a great city!
Luis your love for your hometown is contagious
Great tour! Thanks! We are moving from Florida, like you did, to the chicago burbs this summer! Super excited!

I've been staying in River North for the past 6 years or so when I visit Chicago. Highly recommend an architectural boat tour for anyone looking for something to do.

I started my radio/TV production compayi in 1986 in River North and loved the neighborhood. Spent 13 great years in this community
Fantastic job Luis, I appreciate how thorough your history, and the inclusion of Native American presence in the region. These videos are entertaining, useful, and a classy job!
My wife and I are staying at a hotel down in that area next month. Great tour of the area. I didn't realize how much history is in Chicago. Thank you again and keep up the good work.

Hi. Sorry I’m late but I just visited here today and right now I’m in the Courtyard by Marriott hotel river north. And I mean it’s so beautiful the view is so cool. And the rooms are so fancy. Thanks for the tips!!
Going to be staying at a small hotel near there next week. How much was your Marriott room/night?
@@evolution4606 It was only 161$ per night. So definitely not that bad of a price of all to get that nice view!!!!
How are you not a tour guide? I'm going the weeknd of August 6th and I'd hire you in a heart beat!
At 3:46 Addington Gallery on Wells is a must visit spot for me.
Very first apartments I lived in with my boyfriend at Marina Towers gotta say it was pretty nice having everything at your disposal well the basics 😊
How did you like living at Marina Towers? I'm moving to chicago this summer and Marina looks like a good place
@@sachinnair1613 I loved living there although at the time I was 21 and it was kind of a little awkward because 90% of the people there were over 50 I’s say. I don’t know what it’s like there now? But I loved having everything there if you needed it to go shopping. Especially if you need food. One thing I hated was the parking garage. I always think the car is going to fall off 😳. If I had a chance to live there again I would. Oh and I loved the balcony too!
Love the video, I went to Holy name catholic school/church, lived 55 West Erie st. used to be a hotel, bldg built 1863? or ? dad leased hotel and that bldg is historical bldg now condo. thanks for videos.
River north is a great area
Next would you visit the Edgewater neighborhood please😃
3:24 This used to house a popular nightclub called Excalibur a decade ago .
Hi Luis, thanks for the great videos. I visited several of the places in your videos. Only sad part is I couldn't take home some Starbucks reserves cocktails tsa said under 3 Oz per bottle I had 6oz, know of a way to get them shipped? 🤔
Thanks again for mentioning the Native Americans that once occupied the land before, I truly appreciate that you did that.
Opening music is dope.
It would be nice if you made a going to a White Sox game video similar to your neighborhood reviews about more than just Comiskey Park.
Hey Luis, love your videos man!
I currently live in Wicker Park. My lease is up in March..
What area in Chicago do you think would be the best to live in? I'm currently considering Lincoln Park or something near the Lake..
You seem like a good guy to ask, lol ;)
I hope that at some point you can do a segment on Edgewater and Uptown.
Hi luis. Could you recommend a chicago river cruise line? I’m visiting there on this coming April. Thx
Also as a Michigander your great lakes acronym is HOMES..... lol Huron Ontario Michigan Eerie and Superior.
Still remember the H.O.M.E.S. acronym for the Great Lakes from elementary school haha
I like the history of Chicago
There's so much history in this city and discovering it is so much fun!
All deep dish pies ... Any thin slice Napolitan pizza in this area? Love Chicago.. Unfortunately not crazy about the deep dish.., very informative video. Thank you.
I don't know of any that are in River North, but Cafe Luigi in Lincoln Park has NY style pizza that's really tasty! Lou Malnati's also makes a Chicago tavern-style thin crust pizza, a lot of my friends are crazy about it 🍕
@@LuisGustoComedy ok got it.. I saw Lou M on the map in river north .. Thx Luis!
You forgot to say it was excalibur before tao restaurant
Bello! How ya doin? Well it would be interesting to know if there in Chitown is still an Italian community? I am asking because I am Italian and I wanna emigrate to the states (Chicago). Thanks in advanced bello ;)
Hello! Good thanks! There is definitely a lot of Italian influence in the city, but much less than the early 1900s. Many Italian families have since moved out to the suburbs. We'll definitely look more into the Italian influence in Chicago in 2021!
I got to college in River North and I need an apartment soon so I have to learn my way around.
Do you know what a good salary would be to live comfortably there and enjoy the social life? Do you think it’s more foe Chicago residents or tourists?
In River North ... probably at least $60K .. Parts of River North are packed with tourists but toward the west side of the neighborhood it's a bit more residential
What building is that at 7:10?
I’ll see y’all 9.6.22 headed there for PICS 2022 conference
@@LuisGustoComedy 9.9.22 we are going to untitled supper club for healthcare industry dinner conference away from Marriott. Your reviews and suggestions have been terrific. Chicago 360 yesterday, WOW!
South loop!
One of my boys lives in the South Loop, I'll be working on that one soon 😀
How much would you say someone should make in a year if they are going to spend $1600-1700/mo on rent?
Well obviously it depends on other monthly expenses you may have, but I would say for that rent price I'd wanna be pulling in at least $100K per year
Erie, Huron, Michigan, Ontario, Superior.
H.O.M.E.S
River north is one of the coolest neighborhoods in Chicago!
