That crowd looks dead. The one thing we did better back in the day was to park the DJ booth in a dark corner somewhere. The idea of lining up to all stare at the DJ. In the early years, the crowd would all be facing in different directions, because the dancefloor and the music were the show.
Unfortunately the crowd is used to dance more garage sounds, no every time they can reach te message from one of those performances. I was there and it was fucking amazing, a trip from the beginning until the end, two (three, because the original set has to be Gene b2b shonky, they also played together) of the best DJs i listened this year
the crowd does not look dead to me, this is not hard techno so idk why u expect everyone should dance aggressively I agree with the other part of your opinion tho, that indeed sounds better
