Vom Ostgüterbahnhof zum Mercedes Platz - Eine Brache beleben
Der Mercedes Platz wird das Zentrum eines lebendigen Stadtquartiers sein, auf dessen Grundstück sich bis Anfang der 2000er Jahre eine größtenteils gewerblich genutzte innerstädtische Brache mit Bahn- und Industrieanlagen des ehemaligen Ostgüterbahnhofs befand. Verrottete Lagerschuppen, Büroruinen, stillgelegte Gleise, eine Betonfabrik und eine Autolackiererei und eine Tankstelle prägten das Bild. Nicht mal 1,5 Kilometer weit vom Alexanderplatz entfernt, war von Urbanität nichts zu spüren.
Brachen zu lebendigen Stadtquartieren zu entwickeln, hat die Anschutz Entertainment Group bereits an anderen Standorten erfolgreich umgesetzt. Wie zuvor in Los Angeles und London diente auch in Berlin eine Multifunktionsarena als Katalysator der Entwicklung. Bereits im Jahre 2000 begann AEG zusammen mit der Stadt Berlin geeignete Standorte zu evaluieren. Gemeinsam entschied man sich für das Gelände des ehemaligen Ostgüterbahnhofs, welches AEG 2001 erwarb.
Die derzeitige Entwicklung des Stadtquartiers basiert auf einem städtebaulichen Gutachterverfahren und dem daraus aufgestellten Bebauungsplan, dem 2004 die Bezirksverordnetenversammlung zustimmte. Parallel dazu wurden in einem städtebaulichen Vertrag sämtliche beiderseitigen Verpflichtungen zwischen AEG, Bezirk und der Stadt Berlin im Rahmen des Vorhabens festgeschrieben.
Im Zuge dessen führte AEG alle infrastrukturellen Erschließungsmaßnahmen (z.B. Straßenbau und Versorgungsanschlüsse) sowie Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung öffentlichen Stadtraumes (Begrünung, Beleuchtung) durch und übergab diese Anlagen 2006 dem Land Berlin. Parallel stellte AEG dem Bezirk die finanziellen Mittel zum Kauf des Ufergrundstücks bereit, auf dem sich heute der East Side Park befindet. Die Eröffnung der O2 World im Jahre 2008 rückte das Areal endgültig in den Fokus und der Zuzug der Mercedes-Benz Vertriebszentrale gab den Startschuss zur Entwicklung des zukünftigen Stadtquartiers.

These are the two things I see on this video. The place is surely found in the middle of the city but the facilities are nice and modern. Trees can still be found outside and they are decorated with Christmas lights, something that is heart warming. I assume that this is a peaceful and relaxing place to visit, to work, and to stay.

Bonjour , je conseillerai a Mercedes de supprimer l'AMG de ces voitures car Mercedes est une voiture de très haut standing.... Moi personnellement je préférerai la discrétion car AMG fait un bruit de paquebot ,pas cool,pas classe🤔🤔🤔.
