Dixie has nothing to do with racism or the civil war or anything else like that. It was called Dixieland because the money that was used only in that region was nicknamed Dixie dollars based on the French word “Dix” printed on the back of it. People in the north if they were traveling down south would need to exchange money for Dixie dollars so the whole country referred to it as Dixieland.
