I think, on this level, a homeless tent might be superior, simply for the in and out option available in case of an earthquake (especially in Japan). There is no way one can leave or exit this place quickly in case of emergency. Also, that sink is dangerously close to the water. Too close.

The toilet's going to be a deal breaker. I'm not leaving the apartment 2 or 3 times after dark just to pee right next to the stairs all my neighbors are using. It sounds super awkward and unsafe.
I can’t say this about every Japanese apartment. But the toilet and shower are in separate rooms. There was no sink in the room with the toilet. It was with the room with the shower. So seeing this doesn’t surprise me
Imagine you’re hard up & depressed, you have extreme anxiety & have trouble socialising with people. Your sh*tty paying work, or lack thereof, means this is your only option. @HaxxorElite everyone, for one tokyos housing cost is much lower than that of SF, Seattle, DC, NYC, Boston. You have a choice in choosing the residence. You are free to choose what works for you. There are alot of young people in tokyo where they go home to rural communities on weekends. This tiny apartment is only a place close by thoer work to sleep and recharge
Bad enough in normal times, but try to imagine evacuating in case of fire. There's also a chance of earthquakes. You're practically trapped in the building to begin with. This is the stuff of nightmares.

They also said that about subways, metro, factory work, office work, and computers.
I guess we should all go back to live on the farms like 1700s?
Little John uses galvanised square steel to expand the area and fixes it with some expansion screws which he got from his aunt he cover everything with a eco-friendly wood veneer.
The toilet's going to be a deal breaker. I'm not leaving the apartment 2 or 3 times after dark just to pee right next to the stairs all my neighbors are using. It sounds super awkward and unsafe.
It doesn’t have a sink in there either, that’s a biggg pass for me
I can’t say this about every Japanese apartment. But the toilet and shower are in separate rooms. There was no sink in the room with the toilet. It was with the room with the shower. So seeing this doesn’t surprise me
@@Jacob-sr2wdthere's litterly a sink in there
I think it's one apartment.
You need more galvanized square steel
Imagine you’re hard up & depressed, you have extreme anxiety & have trouble socialising with people. Your sh*tty paying work, or lack thereof, means this is your only option. If you weren’t certifiable before moving in, you would be moving out (likely, in a straitjacket). I just couldn’t! A tent would be preferable.
This is straight up insane
I got the galvanized square steel friendly wood veneer and screws from my aunt
Oh hell no this building triggers my anxiety 😫
The claustrophobic reaction i had to this is insane
Little Johnny can help me
Imagine you're taking a dookie and your neighbor drops by and gets the loudest fart echoing through the stairway 💀
I feel so claustrophobic by just looking at it 😵💫
I'd rather live in a cardboard refrigerator box!

No you wouldn't

Wow! I thought Japan was smarter and more compassionate than that. Thank you for opening up my eyes. This is inhumane. It may be a place to live but only for a night but even that wouldn't feel good. The bathroom being at the front door is the worst l. How uncaring. Not visiting japan except those who wouldn't create this. See how you feel if you had to live this way and letting others profit from it. Horrible. 😢
Would be perfect for a vertically challenged person who can't live in a normal person-sized house/apartment
I think I’d live there if I was shorter than 1.5m and the place was dirt cheap.
I am shorter than that and let me tell you: Absolutely not!
Im telling ya: new prison system.
I can see it being more acceptable to someone with dwarfism.
@@The1stDukeDroklarUntil you consider the stairs. Imagine if stairs were twice as high to you per step.
My boy needs galvanized square steel and eco friendly wood veneers
Who the hell is the architect that designed this nonsense!?
Maybe they saw it as a personal challenge...
It's a great building.
I wish we have that level of freedom to build something like that in the US
@@sunso1991I suppose you'd also like the freedom to commit crimes against humanity.
@@sunso1991literally who does this benefit
@HaxxorElite everyone, for one tokyos housing cost is much lower than that of SF, Seattle, DC, NYC, Boston. You have a choice in choosing the residence. You are free to choose what works for you. There are alot of young people in tokyo where they go home to rural communities on weekends. This tiny apartment is only a place close by thoer work to sleep and recharge
Im living in an RV. My only concerns are strong winds. My toilet space is close in size to the one showcased.
**galvanized square steel music starts playing**
My anxiety is going up each second.
Please get out.
Now.
No I would feel closed in almost claustrophobic. Definitely no narrow staircases. No no..
“Little John moved to a triangle apartment in Japan the spec was too small”
A regular American freightliner sleeper semi truck is probably a bit smaller than this. Talk about tiny living
That’s how they have few homeless people. That is by far better than sleeping on a street
But we are talking about Japan. No need for that. Japan is not a poor country
Sure if you enjoy being tortured in a claustrophobic space instead of wide open space with fresh air.
Im 75,25 inches tall, this is a just a pain to watch. I respect everyone, who could live/is living there.
Bad enough in normal times, but try to imagine evacuating in case of fire. There's also a chance of earthquakes. You're practically trapped in the building to begin with. This is the stuff of nightmares.
I feel like that would also contribute to the price , apartments that follow all the security measures tend to be more expensive than the one that doesn't
It’s unlikely.Tell me now has your house been on fire or had a natural disaster? My family haven’t had any natural disasters or emergencies in years
@@FD-wl7xqI mean... A house fire can happen in any house at anytime...
@@FD-wl7xq The place is also in Tokyo, they get minor earthquakes on like, a yearly basis.
@FD-wl7xq ah well if it's never happened to you it must not be a problem. Definitely no gets killed by house fires like every day. 🙄
Why f'n bother to build this? Just... why? You can live in jail better than this.
Use galvanized square steels and borrow screws from your aunt
This is an example of thoughtless capitalism
People that think this way also seem to believe “Americans don’t need a house/lawn/car that big, it’s [somehow] stealing from [x]”
