    Q2: A helical coil spring with given D and d is wound with a known pitch value. The material is ASTM A227 cold drawn carbon steel. If the spring compressed solid, would you expect it to return to its original free-length when the force is remove? p= 14 ,D=50, d=10mm

      Number of active coils must be a whole number,so if you round off the value to 7 or 8 then also it is correct.
