Sadly in 2009 Brian contracted Swine flu which resulted in him dealing with voice Dysphonia. He struggled for years but has fought to regain his amazing voice, and in just the past few years his voice is beginning to be 100% after years of working so damn hard to get it back. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 He deserves so much respect! As a fan you gotta be proud him! Backstreet Boys forever!!!!!!!!
Their entire album Never Gone is in this style and I love it, I think it's their best album. Highly recommended! From that album on, they definitely made a switch to this more mature sound and it fits them so well. And you're right, it does remind me of The Reason by Hoobastank!
Never Gone, in my opinion, opened a path of revolution to 90s boy bands. It was after Incomplete that 90s boy bands started to flock back into studios. The summers between 2005-2007 witnessed many such revolution in pop music when many supposed established legends HAD to revolutionize themselves in the face of emerging talents who were nigh unstoppable.
This actually came out in 2005-06... This is from their album Never Gone. I consider this their spin off album because it has such a different sound to their previous and later albums. I recommend you do a track by track reaction and to their greatest mv ever from the same album. "Just Want You To Know"
Looooveee this!! They're so fricking good, it's ridiculous! They sing and harmonize so well together. Fun fact. Of the 20 plus years they've been doing this, they've never won a Grammy. Such a shame. I hope one day they receive a lifetime achievement award or something. They truly deserve the recognition for coming back each and every time with great music and basically sold out stadiums. People really need to give them credit for still going to this day.
This album was actually released in 2005 & remains my fave BSB album! This may be my fave song on that one. "Climbing the Walls" is a close second. Those harmonies. 😍 Glad you enjoyed!
There's a reason why Never Gone is a top 3 BSB album for me, the entire album has this sound of more pop-rock tracks, less producer-made synthesizer beats, which really suited their maturing voices at the time of its release. Highly recommend checking it out.
I’ll never forget going to my first bsb concert after years of obsessing over them. My dad took me and he couldn’t stop talking about how impressive Nick’s voice was. Then I got to meet Nick Carter months later and I went catatonic 🤣
YES STEVEN OMG!!! Story time, Never Gone Tour was my first concert ever and was such an incredible moment in BSB's career. This album plus Unbreakable from 2007 both have this great pop-rock sound, and I live for it!!!!!
This never gets old! The harmonies are off the chain!! A.J.'s Soulful sound is Orgasmic!! The whole album rocks! "Show Em' What You're Made Of" is another Banger to react to!!!
Loving your review of this song. You should check out some of Nick Carters solo stuff. His first solo album has a lot of pop/rock like this on it. Never Gone as a BSB album on the whole is all this kinda style. It's such a good album. The great thing about them is that each album is different from the last and they were never afraid to experiment and try different styles.
OMG! I can't believe you reacted to this song! It's one of my favorites and Backstreet Boys are my favorite boyband. I hope you bring more BSB in the future 'cause I love your content ♥
Thier voices & the instrumentals were blending organically. So beautiful..Ok let me give them thier flowers 💐!! There never will be a boy band like them ever!! So good.
One of the strengths about BSB is that they continue to mix things up every few years, constantly reinventing themselves so they don't get stale. That way, the fans don't get sick of them, and their relevance stays high.
The Never Gone album came out in 2004 when pop music had drifted to a more "poprock" sound. Interestingly, Backstreet recorded an R&B version of songs for Never Gone--an entire album + worth of material that was never released!! Someone (bets were on AJ or Nick) released most of that material on Napster and those lucky enough to catch it, kept the material on their computers. The BEST songs of those not released were Song For The Unloved (grammy material, that one, there is a rock AND R&B version) and Love Is. You can find them on youtube if you look around!!
The album never gone is my favorite. A little more rock and I love it. I've been a fan since their very beginning and I'm going to stay that way until I die.
Never Gone is one of my favorite BSB albums. Even though is doesnt have those dance track they have been known for. The vocals on this album are amazing.
never gone BY FAR their best album in my opinion 👀 i still one of my fav tracks from the album cuz kevin never really gets any major parts in songs and his high note in this absolutely INSANE
This was high school for me, as this came out in 2005ish when I was 16 I went over the moon when they album came out. They did this sort of sound for a good while over the years. Crawling back to you and Poster Girl were my absolute favs from Never Gone!
I listened to this track 16 years ago way way back in 2006... it randomly popped into my head just now... And I would be clearly lying if I said that I didn't cry a stream of tears when I listened to it after the stroke of midnight.. Backstreet Boys were indeed one of the greatest bands of my childhood but this is arguably the best song they have ever produced
im a backstreet boys fan and i always loved this song on the radio at the time n still now. im shocked i didnt know backstreet boys sung this song. i love bsb even more now.
I love I Still soo muchhh, I didn’t really expect you to react to it because I would say most people don’t think it’s one their “bigger songs, but it’s one of my favourites I just love the whole Never Gone album
Hi steven! Probably you heard about what's happening in Iran and Mahsa Amini I wanted to request that you be our voice in your own way! And show your support for this big human rights event! Because I know you care. So i want to say please react to the "baraye" song by "shervin" if you can :) This song, all over theworld, has become the song of this revolution for Iran! thank you
Agree, same like u..decades past i still feel the song remind of hoobastank matchbox20 alex band coldplay the cranberries, thats why the song was something for me😍 bsb doing great work, brave to walkin out from comfort zone
If you like this, I think you'll love a lot of the songs on the Unbreakable album. "In Pieces" and "You Can Let Go", and the single from that album, "Inconsolable", are all great pop rock songs that build up to a really soaring climax. Some of my favourite songs of all time, let alone favourite BSB songs. There's also a really interesting experimental kinda song called "Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon" that is definitely worth a listen. I think this album is both one of their most underrated, unknown... and best.
Nick Carter has changed his voice a ton, he joined the group at a very young age and his voice just changed over time I think it’s an edge from AJs voice in that plus his love of rock and alternative music
Wanted to say how much I enjoy your reviews. Growing up, I've heard so much scorn when it comes to the music I loved: NKOTB & other boy bands, pop, soft pop rock, etc. (Still love it today, too!) To see a guy listening with an open mind, focussing on the parts he likes, is so refreshingly wonderful. Please don't stop. ❤️
You should do Show Me the Meaning video which was dedicated to Denniz Pop one of the greatest song writers along with Max Martin (worked a ton with BSB) who died in 1998!
Given how you feel about this song and about Nick's sound, you absolutely MUST listen to Do I Have To Cry For You, it's from his solo album and hits a lot of the same points.
Hi Steven! You probably heard about what's happening in Iran and Mahsa Amini I want to request that you be our voice in your own way and show your support for this big human rights event! So i want to say please react to the "Baraye" song by "Shervin Hajipor" if you can :) This song, all over the world, has become the song of this revolution for Iran! Thank you so much
I watch your videos a lot, but I have to click when you're raving about Nick Carter! ❤ This is from their 'Never Gone' album. It's one of my favourite albums.
This is one of my favourite BSB albums! Steven, as you’ve been reacting to Westlife’s music lately (🙌❤️) it’d be great to see your reaction to WL and BSB’s collab that they’ve done a few months ago for WeChat. The video’s on TH-cam. It was amazing!
You might enjoy reviewing Nick & Knight, the 2014 album done by Nick Carter and Jordan Knight of NKOTB. The big single was probably One More Time. They toured a bit for it as well, and there's some fun footage on TH-cam; they do a 90s compilation number that never fails to make me smile.
Most music videos before 2009 were uploaded onto TH-cam in that year. The year the song came out and sometimes the album are listed with the other credits in the description box. This song is from their 2005 album Never Gone. The released a different album in 2009 and another in between that in 2007.
They had 3 albums that had a more Adult Contemporary feel to them Never Gone (which this song is on), Unbreakable (which actually had a lot of genre sounds on one album) and This is Us.
I used to have all of their albums on repeat but particularly this one every single day while I rode the bus to and from school. This album had a song for all of my feelings in grade 9 and 10 (and then some!), haha.
This was around the point I wasn't really paying attention to them anymore, then I got back into them when In A World Like This came out in 2014. I discovered Nick's amazing raspy rock voice when he was on the Masked Singer a couple years ago where he did Journey and Bon Jovi, which I thought were way better for his voice than most BSB stuff (look it up on youtube if you haven't seen it, his voice is amazing and I'm not usually a fan of his voice). I think I need to go back to this album lol.
this song came out in 2005 actually, its off their album Never Gone which is mostly pop/rock influenced which they extended to their 2007 album Unbreakable. those 2 albums are my absolute favorite from them, i think no one really expected pop/rock to fit them soo well but its amazing.
This is actually from early to mid 2000's, i agree that their more mature sound is amazing, their longevity is due to their amazing vocal talent. They were labeled a boy band, but they're so much more than that.
I know The Fray's first album was 2005 the same year this came out but I didn't hear of The Fray until 2006/07 where as I'd known of The Backstreet boys for like a decade before them (I'm from England) and I doubt BSB even heard of The Fray before they did this song so The Fray had nothing to do with this lol
I must say it's so fucking cool to see a male appreciate these 5 super talented men. Their harmonies are just beautiful together! Nick has always had an incredible voice, but it's on a whole new level now. You should hear him sing "Falling Down", esp. live. He dedicated it to his sister Leslie who died in 2012. Check out "Hurts To Love You" as well, that was dedicated to Aaron. Another video you should watch is when he was on The Masked Singer, if you haven't already -- holy hell!
I've been waiting for you to react to BSB forever! So glad you started with Never Gone. It's their best album imo :) I hope you keep reacting to more of their songs. They have amazing music!
If you like this sound from them I recommend more songs from their album Never Gone specifically Incomplete
Incomplete makes me cry. Siberia is also superb. Crawling the Walls too. That whole album is incredible
Never gone is one of my favorite albums. BSB is the best!!
Agreed
Yes allsongs from Never Gone Album 👏😍😊💙I love it from Phillipines 🇵🇭 Here BsbFan since 1996 💙😍
Sadly in 2009 Brian contracted Swine flu which resulted in him dealing with voice Dysphonia. As a fan you gotta be proud him! Backstreet Boys forever!!!!!!!!
I thank no be wascthe only boy bander that never had vocal lessons until maybe after his vocal problem.
Their entire album Never Gone is in this style and I love it, I think it's their best album. Highly recommended! From that album on, they definitely made a switch to this more mature sound and it fits them so well. And you're right, it does remind me of The Reason by Hoobastank!
I agree, Never gone is the best ❤️

This song is iconic. I wish more people heard this entire album!!
Looooveee this!! They're so fricking good, it's ridiculous! They sing and harmonize so well together.
Fun fact. Of the 20 plus years they've been doing this, they've never won a Grammy. Such a shame.

Glad you enjoyed!
One of my all-time favorite BSB songs. I highly recommend "Siberia", "Madeline", and "In a World Like This". 🥰🎶💗
Siberia is amazing
for me it's better than other but my recomendence was Lost It All
si simple y emotiva.
My favorite thing about their style is how they showcase each one of their gorgeous voices in every song!
I Still actually came out in 2005 on their album Never Gone. But all their older videos came out on youtube in 2009
GREAT RV! HOW ABOUT THEIR CLIMBING THE WALLS FROM AOL LIVE! OR THEIR HELPLESS WHEN SHE SMILES MV. STAY SAFE!
My very favorite BSB song - so much emotion and Nick's voice is incredible
this is still one of my favorite songs -- and for a long time I didn't know my BSB sang it. LOL

This is actually from 2005 and thank you for recognizing this song!! Hope you react to Inconsolable or Bigger by them as well.

i even cried many times over it in break ups wow
YES!!! Steven, react to some videos of them singing live! The harmonies... amazing.
Bsb have never left only boy band still in existence from conception. They are also in my opinion aside from boyz to men, the best in harmony.
Nick has always been my favorite singer in BSB. Both the power and emotion in it, as well as how it evolved. Just incredible.
I love I Still soo muchhh, I didn’t really expect you to react to it because I would say most people don’t think it’s one their “bigger songs, but it’s one of my favourites I just love the whole Never Gone album
Wow thanks for this - I dropped off the bsb train for a while and missed this too!
Hi steven! Probably you heard about what's happening in Iran and Mahsa Amini
I wanted to request that you be our voice in your own way! And show your support for this big human rights event! Because I know you care.
So i want to say please react to the "baraye" song by "shervin" if you can :) This song, all over theworld, has become the song of this revolution for Iran!

One of my fave songs!!
Watching someone love a song from the album that saved my life is just next level happiness ❤

You will love "Just want you to know"
This song was actually released in 2005 on their album "Never Gone" - excellent review, my friend!
bsb is everything x , saw them twice , as my last concert before covid im so glad
You should check out their Incomplete coz its also alternative rock
Wanted to say how much I enjoy your reviews. Growing up, I've heard so much scorn when it comes to the music I loved: NKOTB & other boy bands, pop, soft pop rock, etc. (Still love it today, too!) To see a guy listening with an open mind, focussing on the parts he likes, is so refreshingly wonderful. Please don't stop. ❤️
Do more songs from them please! This a great reaction. Do I Have to Cry For You from Nick Carter solo is a must do 🙌🏻
You should do Show Me the Meaning video which was dedicated to Denniz Pop one of the greatest song writers along with Max Martin (worked a ton with BSB) who died in 1998!
I've been a fan of the BSB for 28 years and this song is my favorite from all of their songs , Im glad you like it
I thought you were Chris Angel for a second 😊 Agree! Nick really sounds great here. His voice fits perfectly this type of style.
Given how you feel about this song and about Nick's sound, you absolutely MUST listen to Do I Have To Cry For You, it's from his solo album and hits a lot of the same points.
definitely one of my all time fav songs by them! I agree with the Hoobastank connection as well, good call!
I love this song so much!! Thanks for your reaction
Ahhhhhh that's amazing, I hope you have a fantastic time!!! They are INCREDIBLE live, get ready to have the time of your life! ❤️❤️❤️
This is one of my favourite songs by them!!! Thank you so much for the reaction video.
Hi Steven! You probably heard about what's happening in Iran and Mahsa Amini

1:02 this is from their "Never gone" album , and the album was strictly recorded with live instruments
I watch your videos a lot, but I have to click when you're raving about Nick Carter! ❤ This is from their 'Never Gone' album. It's one of my favourite albums.
The greatest boy band ever!!!
This is one of my favourite BSB albums! Steven, as you’ve been reacting to Westlife’s music lately (🙌❤️) it’d be great to see your reaction to WL and BSB’s collab that they’ve done a few months ago for WeChat. The video’s on TH-cam. It was amazing!

i just love how it turned you on to BSB and them as solo artists... thats awesome

This song is from their 2005 album Never Gone. The released a different album in 2009 and another in between that in 2007.
I am seeing them for the first time in march next year can't wait
They had 3 albums that had a more Adult Contemporary feel to them Never Gone (which this song is on), Unbreakable (which actually had a lot of genre sounds on one album) and This is Us.

Now this is a satisfying reaction. Bravo! Love the video. SUBSCRIBED!!! ❤
This is why I'm watching reaction videos.
Also please react to I’ve Got You from Nick Carter
This came out in 2005 by the way and this was their come back album
can't believe that you reacted to RBD and now you're reacting to backstreet boys, my two favourite bands in the world
I know The Fray's first album was 2005 the same year this came out but I didn't hear of The Fray until 2006/07 where as I'd known of The Backstreet boys for like a decade before them (I'm from England) and I doubt BSB even heard of The Fray before they did this song so The Fray had nothing to do with this lol
Love you content! ❤️ you know What you talkning about. Big from 🇮🇱
Hoobastank comparison was very good :) didn’t see it until you brought it up
Steven, if you wanna hear a boyband version of Hoobastank's The Reason, listen to Westlife's version. It's relatively close but cleanly done. 😁
We need more for sure!!!
He should listen to Nick's live vocals. He is so good at manipulating his vocal as he getting older.
I must say it's so fucking cool to see a male appreciate these 5 super talented men. Their harmonies are just beautiful together! Nick has always had an incredible voice, but it's on a whole new level now. You should hear him sing "Falling Down", esp. live. He dedicated it to his sister Leslie who died in 2012. i grew up loving this band so seeing anything from them is just so cool!
Can you do more of their songs? Love your style and thoughts man!!
This is my absolutely favorite BSB song! Thank for the review!
I've been waiting for you to react to BSB forever! So glad you started with Never Gone. It's their best album imo :) I hope you keep reacting to more of their songs. They have amazing music!
I got a backstreet boys tattoo. Love them
"holy f*cking nick carter" you had me then you went on with te rasp on his voice and thts why we love him! omg yes!
I still is one of my favorite song from never gone album
Yesss! I love and miss this song. ❤👍
P.s. I flew in here so fast 😁
You're gonna make cry reacting to Backstreet Boys. Since I was a teenager I'm their fan! 🥲😍
This album is actually one my favourites of their’s cause of its rock influence! Though it’s a very tight race cause I love all of them haha
Never gone album is one of my favorites
you really need to do album reactions for all of their albums.
2:03 I’ll admit, Nick isn’t my favorite in the band. But, I agree with you, he does kill the bridge here 2:33
Never Gone was my favourite album of theirs. They have so many good songs on that album. You should listen to “Crawling Back To You.”
2005 it was released. Never Gone is my favorite album 😍 BSB forever! ❤️
such a banger
I Still was on their 2005 album Never Gone. Check out the title track.
I love this song BSB ❤️
This whole album is so good, very very under rated
