Every channel seems to sponsor their stuff now, excluding very few smaller creators. Now, you have left the list and posted more respect from viewers.
@@cpytI don’t understand your comment.
The biggest problem is that I am not from the USA, so it's impossible for a Brazilian operator to have the largest 5G radius, except Vivo and Claro.
these old samsung phones have some weird nostalgic charm to them
I love 2011-2017 smartphones. Back when they all looked different from the front. I collect them myself.
Fr
Can you help me in collecting some I want to start collecting old phones too so can you suggest any
im rn rocking galaxy s7 get it too not a bad phone but soon to my collection will join s10 that might be my main till i die@@apocalypse556
@@apocalypse556just keep in mind batteries are going to be a huge concern
@@thebloo12change them 💀
Old Samsung's were just class
I literally see you in literally every video
Now it's just... Glass😂
Still, with all of the boredom modern phones bring, samsung stills one of the best out there
Funny, back then, people complained that samsungs looked cheap.
@samlung2724 people thought of that mainly because of touchwiz and the pebble design, especially during the S3-S4 era
This phone was the exact opposite of my phone back in 2011.. 2 years prior.. i had the Galaxy Mini.. and the boot up screen is still very nostalgic and iconic.. i love Samsung..
So cool 😎 before big phones were the cool kids on the block lol
the mini I had was super laggy and the middle of the screen wasn't working right lol
i had the s3 mini :)
@@shadowlink3504 thats rough, the minis were awful
@@girlsdrinkfeck yeah the battery sucked ass but the phone was sooo good
It looks big (and feels big) because that 5.8" is only the screen size. Phones back then didn't have that high of a screen-to-body ratio because of the navigation button and stuff, so the whole phone is big even though we might perceive 5.8" as small because we're accustomed to bezel-less phones
That and because its 9:16 where modern phones are 9:21 (skinny long displays)
@@RusticRonnieNo, I think the majority stopped at 19.5:9
I think the Sony Experia are one of the few phones that are at 21:9
They also existed with screens at 18.5:9, 20.5:9 and more if we count folding phones
I remember having the mega 6.3 and it would cover my whole face when taking a phone call lmao
lol holding a tablet to your head lol
It still looks big even today must have been amazingly massive in 2011
It was. I remember seeing this at the cell phone store at the time and it looked absolutely huge next to all the other phones on display. Keep in mind they were still selling the iPhone 4s at the time.
Actually it was launched in 2013
I don’t care what anybody says. There was something so perfect about how imperfect android used to be. I feel like tinkering and messing around to “perfect” our experience was what made android so fun. Now that it’s near perfect out the box I don’t even use it anymore.
I completely know what you mean. There was a comfort to it's imperfection, somehow.
Gingerbread and Jellybean were my most favorite versions of Android. It was pretty well clean from any unnecessary apps, and it’s ready for you to customize it. I also experienced way less bugs for some reason, compared to newer versions of Android. I feel like when Google apps took over, it ruined budget phones because of how intensive it is to run on lower end hardware. If you install a newer lite version of Android, it will run a lot faster. You could also disable some of the Google apps, and it would run a little better.
@@Joshtheweatherman Yeah I really enjoyed jellybean. Those were some of my fondest memories with android. I used to spend so much time tinkering trying to get the most out of a phone 🤣 I went through so many custom roms it’s stupid.
@@NehemYah810 KitKat was also good too!
Definitely agree! Back when the custom rom scene was in full swing. Good times. Now half of the phones you buy aren't unlockable at all.
Super AMOLED FHD, 5.8", Galaxy Note-like design... Even bigger than Galaxy Note3 at the time and for those who don't want a stylus... It's an absolute big win win 🤯🤯🤯
(Wait, Galaxy Mega has an AMOLED version? That's a rare thing, in my place all Galaxy Megas are LCD lol 😂)
Me with my 6.8' Galaxy S24 Ultra 😂 but bezels back then, when compared to today are so huge 😅
You've got to try the Samsung Galaxy Folder (2)! Weird phone but back in bout 2018 I really wanted it as my main.
ahhh the folder is so awesome. I want one anyways so I think it’s a good idea 😎
This was my first phone ever. This is very nostalgic to me.😢
It like an s3 but way bigger! This takes me back 10 years give or take.
I also remember the S5 also had that wood looking box, it's a lot cooler than regular boxes every manufacturer uses today.
Same the S5 was my first phone and god I still have it and love it
I had a 16GB S3 as a ‘toy’ from 2016 - 2021 (I was 11 years old - it was my mom’s old phone - this was before I got my first real phone, a Pixel 6a in 2022 - I got an S24 this year) and this brought back some memories of that.
Everyone hates touchwiz, but for their credit the skeuomorphic aspect was not that bad, I mean the design not the performance...Holo Ui and Metro Ui just destroyed this thing back than. Today I whish we could see something like this instead of pastel flats, just worn me down in the last 5-8 years.
Totally agree with you, material design is boring af
@@kazuhiramiller2121The older iterations of Material Design had an interesting look to them but then it kinda became increasingly monotone, especially in icons. Older Google icons (some of which are currently still used like Google Translate icon) had this folded paper look to them but then they oversimplified them like the new Gmail, Google Photos logo, etc.
I guess I can at the very least give credit to Material You for sort of trying to be unique as opposed to Samsung’s One UI and Windows 11 which seem to increasingly look more like iOS/macOS (and then there is all the iOS clone skins found on pretty much every single Chinese phone lol).
its really sad that everything gets overslimplified. nothing looks interessting anymore i hate it
@@kazuhiramiller2121 When google made all of their main apps from the same color palette nearly droped my phone out of the window.
I had the Mega personally! I loved it when I had it and custom rommed it and all!
Pure nostalgia 😢
I had this phone back in the day, people were always shocked by how huge it was 😂, damn i miss it 💔
The beginning of the big phones!!
Seeing this thing is giving me memories of my old Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. The form factor of this thing reminds me of it
I remember holding this when it first came out and thought it was so big... But here I am in 2024 with a Galaxy S23 Ultra... And wow....
I do actually remember Paper Artist. Fun one. Great Childhood😅
3:13 to avoid the sponsorship talk.
Sorry John, but with the amount of ads every website and TH-cam forces me on, I took a no ads policy, under any shape.
This feels like dankpods but for smartphones. 😅
Dude the mega was HUGGEEE when I first got it. The first LG flex was the shit too.
This was my first samsung phone! And it was big as hell even for a 5.8, the size was sooo way ahead of its time, My god the memories flooded back in the day i unboxed it, oh the nostalgia 😌😌
This is the time when phones are exciting. we're bombarded by features and innovations.
I actually owned this phone. And got it from my mom after my THL 5000 broke. Since she has already upgraded to oneplus 3 at the time. I didn't even know there were 2 versions. I'll check later and give you an update. But I LOVED the thing, so this video is a good nostalgia trip. Thank you for giving me inspiration to go check that phone out after such a long time.
As a Samsung fan I'm glad this channel exists 💪 You should review the Galaxy round next! Or the note edge either way they both were pretty cool
I used to have a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 back when I was 9-12 years old, and it had the same software as this. It's very nostalgic.
9:57 is that the same from the incident. that the rock fall and almost everybody that was fishing in there died
dude wut
That's a cool Phablet!
I remember having a old Samsung and it ran so many games so smoothly on 64 or 32 gb storage with 2 to 4 gb ram
John, can you PLEASE, PLEASE get your hands on a DOCOMO Disney phone?! Dude these things are hilarious and I actually think you would love exploring these damn devices LOL
lmao my cousin owned one back in the days
he used it to watch top gear clips on yt lol
and omg the ui sound is sooo nostalgic

WE NEED MORE!
YEEEES
Phone vibrates
More vibrates of the phone
MOREEEEE👹👹👹👹👹👹
Too many punches to the phone
Hey johnzoid. I would refrain from putting the phone on wifi for AS LONG as possible until needed as you'll actually notice it'll run smoother until your hefty security updates try to auto install and such
5:10 the ihome doesn’t have a battery, it uses the headphone jack to power the speaker
The moment when i saw 5:41 it blew me with so much nostalgia Because i always use that on To Edit the effects and like that and always picture my face then edit with effects great times
So I just watched this review on my old Samsung Galaxy Avant then rewatched this review on my current iPhone 13... I know they are very different, one being a base model flagship phone and the other one being considered a mid ranged device even when it first came out but MAN, it makes you realize how much technology has changed from then and now. For one, phones from 2014 sometimes didn't even handle HD video (the Avant can onenenenly get up to 480p) very well and the Play Store doesn't even work on it anymore, but to be fair, I'm kind of surprised that this video could even play on the Avant from the browser. But I had to see one old Samsung from the view of another old Samsung.
This blue one looks awesome 👍
dang, I agree that drawing app is awesome
You can create vibrations and collages on new Samsung phones too!
I owned one of these! (And still have it though the touch is dead on it). I loved it so much back in the day
I also had this same phone but one faithful day, I opened a shopping app (I forgot the name) and that was the last breath of the phone. The phone restarted and recovery mode came which meant that the phone was curropt. So sad story 😭😭
Ooooo brand new phones get me going and a removable battery ohhhhhh yeahhhhh. Awesome video as always mate 👍
The Samsung S-Plus before the S-Plus Models!!
Subscribing not mainly for content, but for your awesome humor bro. Keep up the good work
You can still download the Cut The Rope games on current phones. I have both cut the Rope and cut the rope 2 on my fold 5.
yes the version installed was an APK from my SD card
@johnzoid74 Interesting. I wonder how it compares to the updated versions on Google play.
i had a friend in marching band who was SUPER short and tiny and she owned this phone. looked like a tablet in her hand lol
8:56 this game is the goat!!
I just love the old mobile games good old days 😢😢😢
After trying all apps, can you update the apps and the android version?
Very few people know about the galaxy W. It came out in Korea only it was shaped like the mega but was 7 inches. Biggest phone I ever used
I think the last Samsung phone with a removable battery had a 3.7 inch 240p screen and I thought it was massive... until i switched to windows phone a couple of years later and got a 5.8in 1080p screen which I think this was a bit less on the resolution. It could even run N64 and PSX games full speed which 10 years ago was something nearly science fiction from a phone. Idk how usable it'd be in current year + 9, but I used it to the very bitter end
i bought it for my mom back then, but it got stolen when she do groceries, i still remember she's crying when get home
Old Galaxy phones are just pure nostalgia
Aren't all samsungs international because the company's from South Korea?
my volume was low when the video starts, I need to raise my volume and restart the video to confirm he is saying mega not the n word💀
I need that Samsung galaxy MEGA ;)
That custom vibration app and recording the radio feature is pretty cool. I miss all the gimmicks phones had a decade ago.
Loved this phone. Was my first smart phone.
It's a big nostalgia for me. I remember all these features. But rip screen
I remember having this phone and everyone thought I was dumb for having a large phone
Apple commercial in a Samsung phone video😂
i love how much fun you have on camera with these videos your optimism is appreciated lol
Remember when Pro isheeps poked fun at how big Android Screens were? (Dell Streak, Note series)
Pepperidge Farm remembers
it's hard to believe that 2013 was 11 years ago
The reason why you kept getting "No response from the server" on S Voice is that Samsung shut it down 4 years ago 😅
1:03 This is a 100% re-seal phone, the Quick start guide is from the S6 or some kind of 2015 2016 Samsung phone. Since this phone is back cover open, so there's no guide for this phone.
Oh my God it's my old phone! Thanks for the nostalgia.
I saw one of those in a flea market once, I think it was the bigger one. At first glance I thought it was an S4 but it seemed... off. I got closer and I got it on my hand. I was confused. I took out my note 4 out of my pocket. I was even more confused. I asked the seller "What even is this thing?"
Also man, I remember group play and paper artist, my dads note 2 had those. They were fun.
My first phone after i graduated high school in 2011. Would always break the screen
The renewable battery is better than the fixed battery, I think it's easy to break the battery
i have a galaxy grand neo, I find it very nostalgic and amusing
we literally found the mobile phone nugget review channel of dankpods, amazing
You look like a mix of JerryRIgsEverything guy and Henry Cavil in the last couple minutes of the video.
"It cant emulate anything else if it cant emulate n64"
I think you forget that theres simpler consoles to emulate lol
I played all of the original gb to gba Pokemons on a phone like this, amazing memories
true true true. This would surely be fine. I’ve never had n64 really act up though so was surprised
It can emulate Sega Saturn
Hey johnzoid can you make a next video on galaxy y duos s6102 because I want to re-experience my galaxy y duos it is not working any longer
I miss 16:9 aspect ratio in phones, it may be less comfortable to use single handed but there is so much wasted space when watching 16:9 content on today's usual 19-21:9 phones, it also makes the screen feel larger even though it isn't, my 6,67" 19,5:9 screen realistically has very similar usable space when watching videos as my old phone with 5,5" 16:9. Of course there is a lot of movies in wider aspect ratio but it's still minority.
Lol. Creating the custom vibration reminds me of lockpicking on Starfield. 🤯
omg my first samsung...its damnnnn huge 5.8 inch back then andddd it has NFCCC..love samsung, alwayss
I remember when any phone above 5 inches seemed too big for me. 6 inches was like a brick back then.
I'm sure you can emulate SM64 but with a lower res plugin. I had Galaxy Trend Plus back in the day and I could play N64 and NDS
You can flash a custom recovery and custom rom to the Galaxy Mega and essentially run android 12 😉
Has this, loved it at the time, ended up getting the Note after.
Instead of buying the Mega 6.3, buy the Mega 2! I personally think it's a better choice
Loved cut the rope but no one else in my life remembers it!
This model was my second Samsung phone , so many memories 🥹
Can you unbox the LG Intuition?
I miss that lock screen effect.
that peter griffin laugh around 4:40 woke me right up 😂
edit : is that pink thing in the background a power bank that looks like a galaxy phone ?
Babe wake up johnzoid just uploaded
This phone was considered to be a behemoth back then😂
I miss old phone designs. Modern phone designs where there's a notch and in-display home and backwards keys are just garbage.
it makes you wonder why did they grow the phone sizes gradually instead of just measuring whatt's the biggest size that ftill easily fits in a pocket and made it this big rightaway... I have pixel 6 pro and I think they could easily make it a bit bigger and still fit any pocket and people would be happy to pay extra for more screen
I thought about one for my work phone, shame it has no s pen, probably gonna go note 4 or 5
Ive had a samsung galaxy core from that era and it was such a good phone...... Ah that phone.. ive used it for 5 years and went true 3 batteries on it
I held it as loooong as i could untill andoir 4 didnt wana open youtube xD
I've been saying 5.8 inches is "MEGA" for years, few women have believed me
my mom had the s5 so this android version is pretty nostaligic. Especially the lock screen effects. funny enough we even had that same exact speaker. And dawg i still play cut the rope
my grandma had this phone and then she gave it to me and then i gave it to my little brother which he actually broke it... in an hour...
