if you like serious tones, I suggest their song "sacrifice". Regarding lore, it's no exaggeration to say enhypen became known as the vampires of kpop, they kinda own the concept in term of reputation, it's also incorporated in award shows. A webtoon made by the company and based on them as vampires became the most popular webtoon made by hybe and a known one, was featured in Lotte world in south korea and will soon get an anime adaptation. They even got a prequel of their webtoon as season 2 after the 1st one ended. In some of their comebacks, enhypen tend to do concept trailers that are similar to short movies of them as vampires, the most known ones are the trilogy of dark blood, orange blood and r:u
Ooo i love talking abt this, basically from what I've gathered from the kpop industry is that producers see pitch correctors/autotune as tools more often than something to cover up the mistakes. Like in this video they used that one clip maybe to enhance the monster feel. There's a group called stray kids and they self produce songs, you hear in their music a ton of effects and it lends itself to the music so well. I wouldnt disregard use of it but rather see if it is used mindfully. Also abt concepts, enhypen has never let the storyline hold them back in the music heck it just adds another layer of 'holy shit i forgot they were vampires', they do some wacky shit in their MVs and its so entertaining. Their concept is so huge in korea that they have a webtoon for it and an amusement park. I love it personally but if you feel at any point it is going over your head, the community has great theorists. Bookish theories and Andy&Jas (they are a reaction channel but are korean speakers so they pick up on lore faster) maybe you can look into them in your own time. Anyways love seeing new fans fall in love with enhypen! Go enha! Ps. Fan fact in this MV they are absolute babies, ages from 15 to 19 💀
10:10 they are very serious about lore in their music videos, strictly tied to their lore. Ofcrs,Their webtoon “Darkmoon:the blood altar is VERY Interesting”. Some song suggestions: Moonstruck Sacrifice eat me up Fatal trouble Criminal love Fever Teeth(unit song) Drunk-Dazed Future-Perfect
I think ENHYPEN's B-sides are far better than Title-Tracks..... Especially their choreo and live performances.... Some of their must-watch bsides are.. Chaconne, Criminal Love, Still Monster, Sacrifice, Fatal Trouble, ...
Thanks for reacting to ENHYPEN. The song lyrics has two meanings. One meaning refers to their vampire concept and storyline (which is still their concept till today, although not in every single music video). The second meaning refers to them as artists and what they experienced becoming a group from a survival show called I-Land. Hope to see more reactions to them. The 2024 Guide To ENHYPEN is a very good guide to know them a little better and it touches a tiny bit on their music so you can hear a snippet what their title tracks are like.
My song recommendation is fatal trouble, you can watch the special stage because the choreo is amazing 😭 it is my favorite song from them and their vocals there >>>>
If you like dark then the Blood series "Dark Blood" & "Orange Blood" as well at the OST album "Memorabilia" are more in that vane. I also love the concept movies and trailers for the Blood Era. I am a very big fan of the lore, the concept trailers, films and webtoons. It's not for everyone but for me it adds so much depth and meaning to the music.
This is exactly why I like K-pop over plain, boring Western music. There's no stigma when it comes to autotune, pitch changes, ending songs unexpectedly unlike in the West where these things are used to cover up mistakes, or when singers can't. It's not that idols can't sing, they absolutely can, but these tools are used simply to add texture. Apart from spending the whole video criticising production choices and concepts/lore, which, by the way 99% of fans really like and enjoy, you could at least be respectful and get their name right! If you don't like the fact that most idol groups have certain concepts and lore, go back to your Western music.
For fatal trouble either see the *dance practice* or *special stage* because there is only an animated MV, the chereo is so good for this song so i highly recommend it ❤❤ @@M-Reactz-z7y
