  • Research has shown a transitioned approach to reentry along with evidence-based programming and job skill development can greatly improve an offender's chance of successful reentry. Those who are gainfully employed following their release from prison are significantly less likely to re-offend resulting in fewer tax dollars being spent on incarceration and safer communities.
Opened in the fall of 2016, the Mark Luttrell Transition Center provides offenders with a supportive living environment and evidence-based transitional services. Residents have phase-based programming focusing on cognitive and behavioral care, education and job skills.
Below, in part one of a special four-part series, Commissioner Tony Parker takes us behind the walls for a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the men and women ensuring MLTC achieves its mission as well as the success of the residents who are currently in the program.
In tonight’s episode, Commissioner Parker takes us through MLTC’s Phase One, which consists of a class structured environment.
“This transition center is a real game changer,” says Commissioner Parker.
