  • too much rain lately. whenever it rains heavy I have to unclog the street

    Just remember all drains have a sister drain usually directly across the road … you’re doing an awesome job !!

    Great job. Our city used to clear the drains once a month to keep them free-running.. That was over 60 years ago, and they would rather see the streets flood. Fun video, though. Thanks.

    Great job. It always amazes me how people in neighbourhoods just let the water rise and stay like that when it just takes 1 person to clear it. Plus it’s usually the same person having to do it. Maybe they think “oh I won’t bother as someone else will do it”. Well done you for clearing it. 👍

      exactly. from a home owner perspective its necessary. and yes im the only on doing it but when neighbors see me at it they help out sometimes. also some neighbors are too old to manage the street infront on their homes so I'll do it

    Suggestions - wear gloves due to broken glass and other sharps. Use a metal rake and wear boots.

    When i was a kid growing up in Flint in the 1960s the city guys would use a steel bar and lift the sewer grate and drain it off then clean it up.

      ive lifted up a few by hand. the rushing water is strong. some grates are rusted shut

    i have noticed where i live, that the city usually designs the storm drains to be right across the street from each other

    Spray paint that grate with fluorescent paint so next time you would see the drains immediately... also put a marker there on the sidewalk as well.....

    since these drains are in your neighborhood, you should put an orange arrow in the street pointing to the drains so you don't have to look for them... and DOT shouldn't say anything since you are doing their job
