Great job Andreas Mindt. Looks even better in real light. Soon we will see a small corner in the Autostadt museum for the first ID models ;) Luckily VW goes back to proven design basics that sell cars. Now you just have to build it - fast. Good luck.
The ID.2 looks nice, but I don't trust VW software. Today, I started driving our ID Buzz, and after a few minutes it asks me if I want to update the software. It warns that the seat positions might change! Why? Why can't the vehicle just remember the seat positions that I have set, and not move them? The same applies to every other user set software feature. It also wants to change the air-conditioning temperature, the ambient lighting etc.
As an ID.3 owner I know all about the "secret sauce".. 😢 To be honest, software is getting better and better but boy my 2 first years with this car where a real adventure😅 Still on software version 2.4 (while 3.5 is around the corner) The dealer doesn't have time to update the car as the car has to come in again. Nevertheless, the car drives great, and I love to drive it..
I own my Tesla for a while, since delivery it has never ever seen the garage. :) zero problems. The ID2 is the FIRST electric car from Volkswagen that looks nice. And might be a car to buy. But the rest is shit. pure shit. I know people with MEB platform EV's lease, and some of them have been more than 10 times to the garage with their car. And also have to replace the whole battery!!! And so many problems with lots of tiny things, and need to go to garage for software update and then the car is at the garage for 2 to 3 days because it takes so long. Volkswagen really really really need to do much better than before. I hope they learned a lot and put all that learning in the ID2. Because the ID2 is amazing as far as i can see.
@@HermanWillems Jup same here.. lots and lots of troubles with the car and when I call the dealer they reply "we have a spot for your in about 7 weeks" ..
Looks like there will be a proper replacement for the Up/Polo! I wish it came sooner, but at least there is more time to save money... it will cost a small house in Brazil😢
Only 5 years after the electric Opel Corsa, looks roughly the same size 😄 I mean, it looks nice and all, and 25k is a great price, but 5 years late IMHO

Until I am shown that vw / CARIAD can sort out the software / tech it’s no for me for a car by vw group. My, now almost 3 year old, ID3 looks fine but the software and tech inside is a disaster. The so-called over the air updates are now abandoned by vw and we’re told to go to dealers, who then crash the software update there instead.. And this after multi-month delays and thousands of cars with update failures with cars being towed to dealers. We never got the promises of regular agile updates that your ex ceo stood up and told us we would have. Nobody every apologises - just carry on as if nothing to see. Ultimately I will not be convinced to buy my next car from vw by a new design language but a new attitude and appropriate apology
Absolutely correct. Focus on sorting out all of the connected services issues with cars that people have bought already! My ID.5 has never been able to connect and customer services and tech support ask that I “wait for a solution” with no timeline or idea on when issues will be sorted. You’re better than this VW. Get it sorted.
Suffering from that crappy CARIAD software myself I can only agree. Definitely nothing from VW-group an more unless the unlikely happens and the really sort it out. I'd say we had the first and last BEV from that company.
Bring back the older designer. That guy is stuck to the past and thank god he wasn't in charge of when the id series were created (id3, buzz). He even thinks that cars with short hoods are wrong. At least we will see lots of boring new VWs thanks to that guy.
They have a long way to go after the ID.3 release to win back trust. The ID.3 at launch was made with cheap materials, bad ergonomics, failing software and didn't even support OTA.
Bravo VW! Please please PLEASE release this car in the US market. We are dying for an EV like this - small, affordable, and practical.

Welcome back to a real Volkswagen ❤
Let’s see what we actually get offered.
Looks great, but this really needs to come out now, not in 2 years time
Yeah, thanks VW for realizing there was nothing wrong with VW design language 👍
Well I am holding of buying a new car for this one it looks fantastic cannot wait
Please bring to the USA ASAP!
Hopefully at least the GTI version🤞
@@mz1beTheres no injection in an EV ;) Most likely a GTX version.
Und im Markt dann 2025? Das ist Jaaahre zu spät.

As an ID.3 (2020) driver, I can relate.. VW cars are nice to drive. Build quality is outstanding.. but software.. don't get me started ..
Amazing design 👌🏼💯🤘🏻🚗

Thanks a lot for a Chinese EV killer. Thai EV market really need this.
VW: "starting price under 25K", add a few useful extras (for example a heatpump): 30K...
Enough talk, time is tiking, built it and bring this car to Canada, we are europeans too!
Please please please bring the gti to market sooner rather than later. My Golf GTE needs replacing.
❤👍
When available in North America?
Currently, we do not plan to offer the ID. 2all in North America. But of course, we will monitor the interest and demand in the region closely.
Then built it now, why wait 2 years
Would love to be able to buy this is North America. Please bring us the ID.GTI.🙏
Love my Gti and eGolf, but this will be replacing them for sure...
hide that front doors handle on the center post, just like you made on the back doors hidden on the c post
P.S: looks like Renault Clio from the profile side.
Thi is vw

Skoda will have the same small car.
Please make another mk4 🥹
Does it have a frunk? If not, fuggat bout it!
not id2all 😖 this is new polo
Come on, it doesnt look harmonious wheels are too big for such a small car
Most concept cars use bigger wheels than the finished product just because it looks nicer
Mk5 polo meets mk8 golf but electric

Scirroco EV
So…and now…DONT get up with the Price!!!

Old designers are unfortunately dead.
This ID.2 All have a good design.
Andreas Mindt designed all Golf but not the new ID serie.

The ID 3 is still a great car,and is now upgraded both hardware and software
Don't call ID.2 call it the 7th generation Polo those ID names really sucks
Volkswagen India 😢
Nice VW. Now scrap all your exsisting EV designs start over using this as a bench mark.
That's just big corporation small talk. With such huge wheels, this car will never make it to the people. Will never be a Volkswagen
Mehr cringe geht kaum.
Boring as usual... only that white older Golf looks something interesting
