I actually just made one of these bad boys. Less fancy than yours, of course, but it works! I decided to use an Arduino Uno as a power source and it turns out that it works a lot better than I anticipated. Running just from USB with the default antennas, I can make any 2.4ghz device believe that no connections are available, and it definitely messes with my Bluetooth stereo and headset. Thanks for the tutorial and link to the parts!
If you install a diode instead of the resistor inline with the charge port power you gain reverse polarity protection as well as the forward voltage drop you are looking for. Just an idea...
hi Mr. Macneil. Congratulations on the 2 videos about 2.4GHZ wifi JAMMER. I started testing with these transmitters and also plan to use amplifiers and perform tests using the Longley-Rice model. The first version can be appreciated in this video: WIFI 2.4 GHZ JAMMER
I only asked because I think on the video you released today, you had mentioned that too much solder at the end of that grounding sheath would change the frequency. Thanks for the explanation!
On this setup you manufactured the antennas yourself. Could you also extract a set of 4 WiFi antennas (as you showed first) and use them instead of having to make them yourself? Or would they not cause the same noise effect as the DIY antennas?
only one thing im confused about. after looking at the schematic im having a hard time figuring out channel selection. i see how you have channel 1 in your video. but what about channel 2,3 and 4?
do you use all the channel jumper contacts on each unit or is each one set for 1 channel and can you link where to find the best wire for the antenna and the gauge wire you use for connecting the power. Nice Video definitely subscribing
yes it would but but it would but it depends on the router some only do this after a reboot some will also span out over multiple channels. This is why 2.4ghz is so noisy.
Great video, what about blocking phone signals to stop spying etc. Would be great to see a jammer that blocks wifi 2.4, 5ghz and gsm. i did have one of these jammers a few years back as i worked as security inside an embasy but id love to build a modern one.
thank you i just spent more money then i should have on tons of antennas this month.. However, what happens if you use all 4 channels at the same time on the same transmitter ?.. im gesing a short obviously but would it work ? :P (insted of using multiple)
As far as I can tell, those AV transmitter have been replaced by the TX6729. Unfortunately I couldn't find a datasheet on it in English, would you mind showing how to wire up those AV transmitters? Thank you ahead of time for your help!
Here is a question. What if my neighbor enabled auto wireless channel selection mode in his router options? Does this mean that his router will automatically select another free of jam channel and I should change channel as well?
I cut up some vcr antena cable and made it 3 inches long tube is one inch and the wire is one inch leaving an extra inch to mount it I shouldered it but turns out the wire has a copper core will this still work??
The av adapters in your description are slightly different from the ones you are using in your video. The ones in your description are green and have 5 soldier points on the side where the channels are
There is a new version of those transmitters. Search "Wireless FM Stereo Audio Video Transmitting Module" on Aliexpress,, Do you know how to change channels on this unit ?
How to would you go about making a shorter range one? I just want to knock out the wifi on my phone, while sitting right next to it, and not be a gigant douche to my nieghboors. I was thinking of just sticking the jammer and phone in an rf shielded box to limit some of it, but can you run these at a lower power or remove the antenna entirely to get closer to 1m range?
Are is see what you mean, just had to watch it again! No when I said blob it was the outer braid of the coax. I you watch my newer vids (better description) on dipoles it is when you push the outer braid down into the metal tube and flood with solder. Probably not the best technical description! ;-)
I wonder if it is possible to optimize design and use only 1 or 2 AV transmitters and counter to switch between channels ? If yes then how fast should be this switch to generate enough noise to prevent AP association ?
+Piotr Król A cheaper way to do this is to flood deauth packets to APs, specifiying the broadcast address FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF as the client, and it will de auth all clients, put in loop and you have wifi jammer! And works from any regular wifi adapter
Xen Nex thanks for reply. I'm aware that using de-auth frames would be much cheaper, but this is not exactly what I want to achieve. I'm looking for cheap noise generator solution that can jam wifi network by decreasing SNR, just like it was shown in above video. This device is for testing purposes. I manage to get partial result using ESP8266 and UDP broadcast, but this drops signal to -90dBm only 1-2 times in a minute for couple of seconds. I need solution that can do this continuously.
I was thinking using 1 of this AV transmitter and using ATTINY85 to program the channel switching for every 0.5 sec. Do you thinks it is possible to auto select channel over microcontroller or 4017(decade counter ) ? thanks
Hi i did think of this first but it does not work with these transmitters. They switch off the channel they are transmitting on then turn on the next. They cant transmit two or more channels at once. I have been looking for one that will but have also found a supplier that sells the chip that is used in these so i am designing a transmitter myself to do what you are asking. andrew
how do u exactly wire the jumper cable to block the channel? is it just ground to say channel 2 will block channel 2? or is it channel on to say channel 3 will then block channel 3?
hey, im about to make one, so i understand almost all of this.. except if this is just going to bog down the internet, or clog it so badly that it disconnects whoever is connected to it.
Call the FCC, and ask them. You would have to prove he is intentionally jamming the 2.4GHz range, and not just accidentally causing interference. Get a spectrum analyzer like he has on the video, and a directional antenna and narrow down exactly where the source is coming from. If you narrow it down to his house, just knock on his door and be like, Hey, my spectrum analyzer tells me that a signal coming from your house is disrupting my wireless network. If he denies, tell him sorry for the mistake, and that you are calling the FCC to find out where it is coming from since it isn't his house. This will cause him to stop doing it if he is doing it on purpose most likely. If it is unintentional, ask him if you can enter the house to determine the source of the signal. Of course if he is a total douchebag who you hate you can always step it up with a CDMA/GSM/3G/4G/4GLTE jammer hidden in his bushes... ;) Only way you could prevent this wifi jamming inside your house is line the insides of your walls with lead foil (tin foil might work but lead is better.) you use a wire to jump the pins no jumper channel 123 jump 1 and 2, 456 jump 1 and 3, 789 jump 1 and 4, 10 11 12.
Would it work if you left the old antennas on, but just at a shorter distance
Excellent project! Do you think the same jammer blocks bluetooth?
Wouldn't it have to since they run on the same frequency? Did you ever find the answer to this?
Here is a question. What if my neighbor enabled auto wireless channel selection mode in his router options? Does this mean that his router will automatically select another free of jam channel and I should change channel as well?
plz give us a detailed picture of the connections of the jammer
Yeah I too need that!!
where might we find those little boards? short of finding someone old video transmitters....lol like can we find them out on the net somewhere?
I'm not having much success and it's largely because I don't have a spectrum analyser. Is that required or can I verify it some other way?
real quick question regarding the channel selections. I dont see what you used to jump the channels.. maybe you could email me a simple diagram
How do you specify which channel to broadcast to? Do you know the spectrum in the US?

what are the materials you used to build the 2.4GHz jammer
Any ideas on the best way to find these transmitters. I don't have many wireless cameras lying around lol.
Can 8CH 2.4 GHz Wireless AV Transmitter Module TX 17dBm FM Stereo Audio Video DC+5V on ebay work normally?
What is the data you are sending through the transmitters as the noise?
There is a new version of those transmitters. Search "Wireless FM Stereo Audio Video Transmitting Module" on Aliexpress,, Do you know how to change channels on this unit ?

this will jam channels 1-8 rigth?

andrew mcneil oh ok thanks
is it possible to build this with arduino uno??
MilicanLakitu it is possible. a user built one using the arduino uno. scroll down and you might be able to see his comment.
Ch1-ch3 I got it. Jumper GND to each channel, but how about channel 4? there is no space for that. 4 slots, 1 GND, 2,3,4 channels 1-3 !!
how do u exactly wire the jumper cable to block the channel? is it just ground to say channel 2 will block channel 2? or is it channel on to say channel 3 will then block channel 3?

will it jam 5.8 ghz?, furthermore, if ti does not jam 5.8, if I replace the crystal with a 5.8 ghz crystal, will it then operate on 5.8 ghz?
