Until 110 years ago, Yemen was included in the Ottoman Empire, the empire of us Turks. There was a great war in Yemen and the soldiers who left could not return to Anatolia. Because most of them were martyred. This song tells this story.
This is an anti-war song, or rather a folk song. I recommend you to watch the movie Lawrence of Arabia. The movie explains the collapse of the African front very well. Yemen is actually the general name given to the region where today's Yemen is located at that time. This was an imperial province. Many martyrs were lost during and before the Great War.
The song is not new , it's an old Turkish folk music piece , but it's played with all kinds of instruments and the singers are all mixed , some are classical Turkish art music singers some are rock singers and some are no singers at all .
My grandmother's father was served his military service in Yemen. He was lucky that he could survive after the war. When he came back to Anatolia, they have sent him to Russian-Ottoman battle in today's Black Sea region of Turkey. Ottomans were badly lost this war again, and he was escaped from the military. He has catched by Ottoman army and executed by fusillading. They have shot him but he didn't die. When other soldiers were gone, he has escaped to a village and recovered. When he could go back to his own village, his wife was already married with someone else. He was considered as a dead person already. Not: We have the letter ğ or Ğ in Turkish alphabet but we never pronounce that letter. So the word "Doğa" is reading as "Doa".
Hello, please shoot a reaction video for Petya Paneva and Valq Balkanska. Be sure you won't be disappointed. Valq balkanska's Izlel e delyo bandit's song is on the golden record in space.💙🇧🇬

Çok güzel bir iş yaptığın, Türk halk müziğini daha fazla araştır çok seveceksin.
Yemen became a graveyard for the Ottoman military. History song.
Şimdi sıra size geldi. Artık gazze ve Yemen için ağıtlar yakıp şarkı yazarsınız.
