Yes absolutely, lovely to finally meet you also. TH-cam is a strange setup in that you can become friends with people or feel you know them and yet never met.

Hi, lovely to meet you also. Yes it was busy, I had a lot of fun seeing what I did. Sadly many have said they won't bother next year. I honestly feel that it was the mega making track that drew the crowds. However, Pete Waterman will not be making a layout for next year, so I honestly feel 2024 event will be a much 'smaller' event, still the same size, but perhaps won't draw as many people.
Hi John. Thank you for your video of GETS. I was there on Sunday at 9:45 and just about managed to se a couple of layouts briefly but all I saw of making tracks was a end quarter! the joy of a wheelchair but very disappointing. In fact I had left by 1pm as it was once againa waste of my time being there and I very much doubt that I will bother again :( So at least I managed to see more of it through your own eyes (lense) :) Take care
Oh Mav Im so sorry to read that, I cant imagine your dissappointment. It does horrify me how people wouldnt be more considerate and let you see. Im am glad though you found the video helpful, there are a few appearing now.

Great vlog buddy.
Can't remember if we said hi at GETS. Met a lot of TH-camrs.
Time I got there almost impossible to film, so didn't put anything on a vlog.
Great buys, managed to spend £120 so I did get to the front of some traders.
Far as the trees go I use armatures, sea foam and wire but with string. Can see them on my last vlog.
Shame we didn't meet John. Couple of times I was next to people I didn't recognise and should have said hi to.

Hi met you at Jenny Kirk it was very nice to meet you. Overall the Great electric train show was brilliant, but I did find Pete Waterman’s layout, a bit overwhelming nobody can ever have that in the loft or garage. Even if I built another garage to me it was great, brilliant building, but too overwhelming.

Yes It isn’t a layout you’d have in your house, but rather an inspirational layout that we can admire. Even with Pete’s large railway room he couldn’t assemble all three parts.

Those, what looked like coronation coaches, on the hornby stand looked interesting as well as the wagons and FLIRT but i bet they all have a mortgage price tag.. nice video... and looking at the comments from this video and others Im glad i decided not to go and went to a smaller exhibition insread
Hi James, well yes the new items will come with a high price tag, but we each decide what we would like to run on our layouts. I do buy a lot of older stock for the OO, so I can buy new if I want.
In a similar way we each decide on what shows to attend. I never had any issues getting to or from the show, I used public transport for the whole journey. There were roadworks, which did impact the journey but no issues in MK. I arrived at 8.30 and was third in the line, saw Pete Waterman's layout in its entirity no obstructions. People arrived 2-3 mins after me, plenty of time to make an uninterrupted video, chat with Pete and other guys too. No complaints from me. Fantastic show and great day out.

Hi John - great to have met you in person after all these years ! 😊 i think your opening shots captured me at Cheltenham Model centre stand getting my Mk2F's ! Great show - but long journey home - 5 different train companies ! To give credit all the trains ran to time. Think I'm getting another pass to go to Warley. So if your going yourself might catch you again (on the Saturday). Cheers Euan

Excellent John thanks for sharing. It looked like a great show. It's nice to be one of the first in, I was last year at warley. Nice interviews as well. Did wws not have any tree armatures and seafoam they normally do, that's where I get mine from. Anyway enjoyed the video atb Andy
Hi Andy, I felt very priviledged, to be first to see it, but got quite tongue tied talkkng to Pete, oh well. I did go to WWS, they didnt bring anything like that. Martin was doing demos think selling st grass.
I will be going to Warley on the Saturday as well so maybe we could have a chat, I got to say looking at other videos the Making Tracks layout looked amazing with all 3 layouts in 1 and excellent video
Yes it would be nice to meet you. I know a fair few TH-camrs and are friends. There are also many I’ve never met, just chatted by I wouldn’t recognise people. It’ll be nice to put a face to the name.

Parking nightmare arrived 0945 Sunday, could not get parked. Parking staff did not have a clue what to do, only suggested Asda and not to park longer than 3 hours. Clearly the event parking was not big enough. Eventually got parked at M&S and then worried about parking ticket as there appeared not to be any parking notices. Joined the back of the big long queue. Then heard someone say that this was for non ticket holders, we had tickets. So left the queue walked to the front and almost walked straight in. Venue was packed at 10.30, you could hardly move and everywhere was 4 to 6 deep to look at anything. Looked over a few shoulders to not much happing on making tracks front end. There was more happening in the fiddle yard. Went up to the balconies which were really busy, back down again. The wife said that M&S was more her thing and decided to leave, I took a zig zag walk through, made a purchase and left. I overheard one of the security guys saying that there were complaints every few minutes and the event staff did not seem to know much at all. Will not go to this venue again.
Ohhhhh I so sorry to read that, you really have had a time of it. I did hear a few people say very similar things, such a shame that your day was marred in such a way.
Great video John. We got there about 9:30 Sunday and didn’t have any trouble parking. Someone tipped us off about ticket holder’s entrance, we had advance tickets so weren’t delayed getting in. Had a good 5 hours or so in there which was plenty enough time to see everything and meet up with some TH-camrs. It did get really busy around noon time, but we left just after 1pm and had an ice meal in the Italian restaurant around the corner before the journey back down the M1. A very enjoyable day, but much busier than last year. Thanks for sharing your video. Roy.
Hi, think you were lucky as was I. Many had to be bussed in and hundreds of people trying to catch 2 coaches was difficult for many. I got to many traders, saw many TH-camrs albeit briefly, and still many layouts as you saw in the video.
I've known you longer than I've been on TH-cam mate it was so nice to meet you at last

It was a great show but so crowded. I got to see all the layouts but not look at them for as long as I would of liked only had about 5 hours there. Nice views of Making Tracks wish I could of got there sooner for views like that.
There were a fair few there, but I’m sure that was because of making tracks. Think next year will be so much quieter.
I was very blessed and fortunate to be right at the front of the queue and first in to see the layout. I had about 4 minutes before it was rammed with people.
@@piccadillymodelrailways I am sure it was because this is my 3rd time there and it was busy but not packed the other years. I got there around 11 and set off back on the 4pm bus.
Hiya John looks like it was a great show . Was on my way yesterday but had to abandon the trip .
1. motorway was close northbound at Leicester so southbound was queuing badly
2. Parking was a Bloody Nightmare
so gave it up . But saying that i have been working on two videos and planning my 3rd video
Ohhhh so sorry to read that, you must have been so dissapointed. I heard so many people say how complicated the parking was, and the number of spaces a ailable on the buses compared to the queues. I took the bus to the railway station and that was packed. I hope my and others videos help to make up a tiny bit.

Hi, yes it was the busiest GETS I’ve been to, but that probably down to mega making tracks. There won’t be one next year, and so many saying ‘not going again’ next year I think will be so much quieter.
Yes, unfortunately the bus breaking down for the car park run on Saturday, resulting in 50min wait. Then the carparking arrangements on Sunday were not very well arranged resulting in people being sent to full car parks,. Then this boiling over into a road range incident in front of me between two cars (well their drivers) at a junction! Not the best start. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the show but it does make you think about larger shows over smaller ones??? Great to meet some of the other TH-camr's and get in the group photo! Unfortunately didn't get to meet yourself this year, but sure I heard your voice at one point😀 Regards Steve @@piccadillymodelrailways

Well done on getting this out and who's the lucky one getting in early I could not get near this (or the others) but as what I have shot is rubbish will have to make the best of it and do a video, after all it is GETS. It was nice to meet with you and all the others and this time had a nice chat and a tea with Tony (TNE) so pleased as have been trying for a long time. That was the best meet up we have had for ages shame all my photo's were blurred its pants but thats how it goes sometimes. Good luck with the alterations to your table when ever you find time to do it. Next GETS its only a year to go and it will soon go so keep well and safe and have a good time at Warley.

Great shots of the layouts especially making tracks 3 was absolutely stunning layout in its full length only managed to video a few trains running myself , was very busy compared to last. I could only get couple of running shots, surprising how quickly the layout 'filled up'. Maybe see you at Warley, Im there on Saturday 25th Nov this time.

Yes hoping to meet yourself and many other youtubers, Im sure there will be a meet. Last year, if I remember correctly there was a train strike on the Saturday so the world and his wife went on Sunday.
