for a lot of people, this probably is just another song. but this is my hero. i admire him so much for all of the raw emotion he puts into this sung, both in studio and live. he's so strong and brave for pulling through and managing to play the song so beautifully. wherever tom is now, i'm sure he's so proud of his little brother.
definitely I agree so much, this guy is my absolute hero, I woulda cried my eyes out if I was him, he's so strong to of gotten threw the song, this song means a lot to me and must mean even more to him, I'm so proud of him, he's gotten so far, I bet tom is so so proud of his lil bro, I know I would be
RIP to both of my big brothers Todd and Dallas. I’ll love you both forever, and forever and always ❤️ June and September will forever be the hardest months of my life to have to go through.
Wow this actually hurts, crying at this is not even like a sobbing kind of feeling, it's more like the kind where you don't have much tears but you do have a lump in your throat... Such a beautiful song
Does nobody else realize this song is written in 6/8 instead of 4/4? So, instead of a steady 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 feel, it's ONE-two-three-FOUR-five-six. Almost like a waltz or dance. Very cool that they wrote something in a different time signature from common time at the age of 17.
+Will Herridge Is it something you've played or something you've heard? Which one is it? Technically they're the same thing, it just comes down to phrasing and the accented notes in a chord progression; example, in this recording, Alex is accenting the ONE and FOUR in the six note phrase on his guitar, and the studio version is the same, I'd say it's closer to a sixeight.
As a songwriter myself I have to say that you don't give yourself the restraints of writing in a specific time signature and especially with emotional songs like this you just grab a guitar and play whatever comes to your mind
I am so proud of Alex! I have never heard or seen a video of them playing Lullabies live, I am so glad he can do it! I know it must be hard! He has saved me from myself multiple times and I'm glad he is as strong as he is!
There are a few but I love this band so much that most Lullabies videos are extremely uncomfortable to watch for me because I absolutely hate seeing any of the guys sad. When they're sad, I'm sad. They mean so fucking much to me. I know there is a Lullabies video where Alex breaks down in tears and says smth like "I'm sorry, bro" instead of the actual lyrics. :( Watched it once years ago, won't touch it again.
there's one where he is trying to keep it together throughout the entire song, distracting himself. At one point jack like clearly asks him if he's good, and he's so clearly not that it hurts to watch. then at the end he starts crying and goes "I'm so sorry, bro" and its just so sad. Like he's my hero ad seeing him cry... I just want to hug him for hours,.
My older sister just passed away from liver failure from drinking too much. I've been listening to this so much. 💔 It's so heartbreaking losing my sister. I love this song. We had our problems but I'm so thankful a couple months before she died we reconnected and spent a lot of time together. We had so many laughs, tears, and sleepovers before this so I'm forever thankful. Rest in peace Ivonne. 💚
They should play this song in place of Therapy when they "slow their set down." This is seriously my favorite All Time Low song ever! So much emotion is exuded when it's played live, too.
this song means everything to me - i lost my brother the day after my birthday last year and the fact that alex wrote this song for his brother that passed away made coping with the loss so much easier.. thank you so much alex.
having a best friend lost to suicide is the hardest thing in the world. but just listening to this song helps so much with the pain that comes with it. I know you guys probably dont give a shit about some teenage girls problems but I think I would love to talk to alex about it. just let it all out so I can thank him for all he has done for my sanity. this song saved me..
Wow, I thought this song hadn't been performed in years.. Cannot imagine what he went trough, but it still makes me cry every single damn time! One of my All time favourite songs, Alex is my hero!
This song was written kinda about his older brother, Thomas, who commited suicude when Alex was 12. Alex didn't know that he killed himself until his parents revealed it to him much later in his life. He obviously loved his brother very much... :(
So I have a friend who really loves all time low and she has an emotional breakdown whenever she hears this song. Like, at lunch, she will just suddenly cry. I see why. I love this song so much
The last time I saw them prior to this was at Recher and they played this and a girl in the front row passed out. They immediately stopped and picked right back up once she got help and was taken aside.
I hope i see this song live one day. Ive been a fan for 8 years and never had a chance to listen to this song live.Alex's emotions in this song just make me cry
This is such an emotional song which always makes me cry. I can totally understand how he feels, cuz I've been through the very same. I am very thankful that he wrote a song like this , so people who have the same story can cry and let their tears come and feel understood through music
For Vinny, Braden, Tyler, and Jonathan I miss u everyday since u have been gone. I am so sorry that I couldn't find a way to help u. Love u guys see u all in my dreams.
I would love to see this song live one day. Its such an emotional song and Alex is so strong to be able to preform it after so many years. Its one of my favorite ATL songs, and its absolutely beautiful.
Gosh its makes Alex all the more stronger and amazing he is for performing such a personal experence through a song. This is why Alex Gaskarth along with Jack Barakat, Zack Merrick,&Rian Dawson aremy hereos :")
This song always makes me think of my mom and of the things I wish I could have told her. Alex is such an amazing person I can't even put it into words.
He was an alcoholic, but that's not how he died. You don't die that easily or early in your life from alcoholism unless you accidentally overdose, and that is VERY hard and that's not what happened to Tom. I've seen many interviews and talked with Alex myself about the song, and yet he's never said the word suicide it is very obvious to me. Coming from someone who has lost someone that way, I know how people act when talking about it.
Nah they didn't but its cool they played a lot of really good songs. They played Damn If I do Ya, Somethings gotta give, kids in the dark, weightless, and dear maria all acoustically
Gosh wow... Can't believe he had the strength to sing this live.
for a lot of people, this probably is just another song. but this is my hero. i admire him so much for all of the raw emotion he puts into this sung, both in studio and live. he's so strong and brave for pulling through and managing to play the song so beautifully. wherever tom is now, i'm sure he's so proud of his little brother.

Alex is a legend
RIP to both of my big brothers Todd and Dallas. I’ll love you both forever, and forever and always ❤️ June and September will forever be the hardest months of my life to have to go through.
I always feel like crying when I listen to this version of the song..
I feel like crying whenever I hear it
I do cry when I hear it
I feel it with even the original
i love how the audience is being so respectful
this is a great fandom
I wish I could hear lullabies once live..
Wow this actually hurts, crying at this is not even like a sobbing kind of feeling, it's more like the kind where you don't have much tears but you do have a lump in your throat... Such a beautiful song

***** they're literally the same thing, just how you wanna count it

P sure at the end it goes to 4, but love songs like this. Gives me the chills.
I actually goes 6/8 then 4/4 then 6/8

Heaven collides down here when this song plays😢
I can actually feel the pain in Alex's voice when he sings this. Such an amazing song.

This is just wonderful. ATL should re-record a pile of their old songs acoustically. I'd buy the shit outta that album.
This song is so beautiful it makes my heart hurt
It's like you can feel the emotions he puts on this song
For Vinny, Braden, Tyler, and Jonathan I miss u everyday since u have been gone. I am so sorry that I couldn't find a way to help u. Love u guys see u all in my dreams.
I have so much respect for all time low, this ... Wow
I can relate to this song so much as my bestfriend committed just this year, this song has gotten me through so much.
It's the emotion they put into every song they play live that makes them one of my favorite bands.
I would love to see this song live one day. Its such an emotional song and Alex is so strong to be able to preform it after so many years. Its one of my favorite ATL songs, and its absolutely beautiful.

All Time Low is an incredible group of human beings. I can feel the raw emotion and pain in this.
The one thing that always gets me is that Alex has his eyes closed most of the times he performs this song :'(
