Really great work on the sound design. I've never fallen in love with the sound of a moveset, but this was just perfect. The way you incorporated singing bowls, chants, gongs and everything else I can't describe just adds so much impact to everything I can't imagine monk getting a better sound treatment than this. Kudos to you truly.
I really like what’s been done with Way of the Four Elements. In 5e they just feel thematically like a worse spellcaster with punches, but here they feel like an elementalist channeling energy like they’re doctor strange or somethin, it’s awesome.
Sound design like this is what make me wanna do sound design for games. if only it wasnt so hard to get started with...
Phenomenal work. Would LOVE to see a bit of your process if Larian allows it. :D
I am working on a video that I hope to have up soon.

this is amazing! could we get one for sorcerer/wizard spells too? fireball has an AMAZING sound
Hi, yes, I am planning to upload some of the other sounds I did, including fireball. Thank you.
I can only hope we can get an inside look at the sound design process
Once the dust settles, I am going to show some of the designs i did.
I would absolutely love that :o@@gullskjeggsoundwizardry
@@gullskjeggsoundwizardry hello, i would love to see the programm in which you do your work (is it a commonly used DAW like Cubase etc?)
@@sternenherz I use Reaper.
@@gullskjeggsoundwizardry ohh, really interesting :) I never looked into it - only thing i know is that it seems to be good for mixing.
The way you let the player 'feel' the reverberations echoing through the target is amazing, the chanting before the strike, the impact itself... such a fantastic and creative way to make playing a monk feel more special, I was super impressed at how distinct the monk felt vs. other spell/fighting classes and I think the sound design was a huge part of it
these sound design are really mind blowing. hope that will be some breakdown videos show us how u make these.
It brings a tear to my eye that you used a tiefling monk for these tests. Thank you for all the hard work you did to not only bring my favorite class to life but for also being a part of why BG3 is great! Thanks!
I see so many channels talking about how these sounds "might" have been made. It'll be great to see some BTS from the actual professional! Subbed!
omg😭, how do you make sounds so awesome and full in low and mid frequency, omg, these impacts or something bass hits are so good!!! are you make those sound in synthesizer
such as Serum, Vital????😭and.....the spell, it has throat singing blend with it!!!omg, you are the god of sound design, from now you are my idol of sound design😭and forget to say.....the first sound design in video I think it's coolest, omg, ear candy....
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm truly humbled by your appreciation. Yes, I did use Serum for some of the sounds. I chose throat-singing to maintain the vocal component as per the DnD Rules, while also avoiding the aesthetic clashes that Latin cast phrases might bring. I'm glad you enjoyed the sound design, especially the first one. It means a lot to me. Keep listening and supporting
Fist of unbroken air??? My favorite one🥲
my favourite sounds for a class in the game! loved your work soooo much!
Godlike work, made the class so much fun to play, thanks!
Great work. Thanks for uploading, this is a very good reference of all the sounds. I did a redesign of the opening cinematic and debating whether I should do some in-game too hmm
justice for my favorite class ! Impressive work thank you
You're welcome. :) Enjoy.
So from what i have read on reddit 4 elements disciplines work while you are in a barbarian rage
Hi, this is absolute gold :)
Searched this cause bg3 has some hella banger sound design I didn't realize *you* were the guy who made these
Such a beautiful job lad
I went open fist for my first play through. Monks are my favorite fantasy archetype. I have no dnd experience and getting ki resonation was the highlight of the class. The sound effect was the best part. It was so fun to use, thanks for the hard work man - you did awesome
ki resonance is super fun and satisfying to use.
Why didn't anyone tell me sooner you can play Sub-Zero in BG3?
Finish him!
This kicks ass
Impressive!!
That sounds awesome!
I'm a newbie sound designer and can't even imagine how these ones are made actually :( How much time did you spend on these? Watched any tutorials? Looking forward to new redesigns :)
Plenty of time during the development of BG3.
you are AMAZING

WOW!
King Goa
Sounds like he's rippin' didg'
Man, there's so much going on in this game I never even stopped to pay close attention to this stuff until seeing this video. I've only done sound design as part of a hobby making music, but there's a lot to appreciate here.
These are so well thought out. The ohm/chant sounds and the (I think) FM bell for ki resonation. I especially love Gong of the Summit. That moment of silence between the riser and the explosion gives it so much energy.
Out of curiosity, is that gregorian chant sound a real vocal, or clever work with resonant filters/a formant filter? Sometimes I can hear some resonant peaks sweeping and think it must be filters, but I can't quite be sure. It's very lifelike.
We hired actors - male and female - to perform vocal throat singing, which is what you are hearing.
@@gullskjeggsoundwizardry thanks for answering. Fantastic work
