The nine-tailed fox originated in China and is a mythical creature in Chinese mythology. It is mentioned in ancient texts like the Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas) and is often depicted as a mystical fox with nine tails, symbolizing spirituality, intelligence, and great power. The concept of the nine-tailed fox later spread to Japan, where it became a yokai (supernatural being) known as "Kyūbi no Kitsune" (九尾の狐) and was adapted with unique cultural elements and narratives.
There isn't much I can say without giving away much of her story. We do meet her when we get to the Xianzhou Luofu (space china!), but did we really meet her? That's all I'll say. Tingyun is the 4 star version, and Fugue is the same character but is 5 stars (Fugue just came out this week). I will say her 4 star version is a fantastic support unit for buffing, and her 5 star version is great for weakness break teams.
This is definitely the trailer so far that benefits the most from the context of her story. I say it borderline *doesn't make sense* without it. But it's peak.
4:34 yes and no, no spoilers intended, basically tingyun/fugue was in a brink of death because of an enemy, and then saved by a scientist, which is why she’s awake in a test tube. She’s practically lost all of her identity because of the enemy. it’s hinted in the music in 2:15 , which is a beautiful Xianzhou (Chinese) music from her origin but have a hint of angst and loneliness there, but also hope for her rediscovering herself

Not much can be said about Fugue without spoiling a major part of the story, I'll just say that something happened to her

As for who's necks r getting snapped, it's anybody's guess
Man, you've been somewhat spoiled since you're still not at THAT part of the story
Oh no! Anyway...
