    I want to thank you immensely. Purchased the 600 RGB Gen 2 from Amazon for around 250$ (Tax and shipping included). I put all 600 lights on my 7 foot tree. On installation, I had the identical problem as you with difficulty getting the App to connect to my WiFi. Unlike you, I created my Twinkly account using my email (not via Facebook ). I suspect a bug is in the App. I ended up deleting the App from my phone and downloaded it again. Another install attempt and this time everything connected correctly. Twinkly's product support is a real PITA. No place to call, just email. Spent 4 day's trying to get things to work. Still waiting for Twinky's support to respond. Once I got the lights and App working, now I think I'm hooked.

    I bought 2 sets last year (600 for indoor tree, 400 for 50" outdoor wreath) and they still work great this year. So I bought 3 more sets for outdoor wreaths. Only problem I had was they don't like my 5ghz wifi - they only connect to the 2.4 guest network. They may seem expensive but its a lot cheaper than diving into a full RGB setup, and not nearly as much effort. I may try the icicles next.

      Almost all “SmartThings” I’ve used only work on 2.5ghz for whatever reason. LG washer/dryer, Philip’s Hue, Twinkly lights, etc.

      It’s generally fine. 2.4GHz is slower and more congested, sure. But speed isn’t really a concern, and 2.4GHz generally has better range since 5GHz is more easily blocked by walls.

    Just discovered Twinkly lights about a month ago. Already I have purchased 2 of the 600 LED strings, 3 of the 210 LED curtains, and 3 of the 50 LED 24“ wreaths, all are generation 2 RGB+W.
    Great review from a fellow addict!

    They're neat but so expensive! They really nailed the app, packaging, in store displays and branding to make it look premium though.

    Great video! I'm looking at these for an upcoming project I'm thinking of, one question I haven't been able to find an answer to that maybe you know, when linking multiple strings is there a way to have them perform effects in sequential order? For a simple example a 'chase' that starts on the first string and once it reaches the end starts on the second string and so on. From what I can tell is the effect would start on all strings at the same time. Thanks!

      I hope this helps, (if you haven’t purchased them yet)
      They have different settings were you can have all the individual lights sets doing the same thing, you can mapped them as a group so you can see the effect in a bigger scale, you mapped certain sets to do one design and other groups or individual sets with a different design or each one with the same effect individually.
      They do have a lot of designs on the app…
      You can also freestyle your own.
      They also have now “twinkly music”…(usb with a sound sensor) where the light sync to music playing , you just need the buy the “usb” and plug it to a power source. Is pretty neat 👍🏻

    • @kyouman999
      @kyouman999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just be aware that you can’t group the two different types together in the app to have them synced.

    • @vahn_legaia
      @vahn_legaia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kyouman999 We ended up returning our defective RGB+W and purchasing a regular RGB due to the vast price difference. We want a lot of these and the price-point of the RGB+W to fill our needs would be ridiculous.

    Just picked up a few. Biggest issue i see is that the tree that I mapped is too small (5 feet tall) to display some of the patterns that they have, so i picked up some curtains to see if that will work better.

    • @EverydayReviews2022
      @EverydayReviews2022  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you need to have some pretty dense light setups I order to display some patterns.

    • @stain0269
      @stain0269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I took a set of 400 and hot glued them into a pegboard to make a " sign " to run specific effects like the reindeer, candy pattern and some of the Halloween effects.

      @@Eric-qm4vm I read somewhere that you don’t suppose to leave them outdoor more than 5 Months 😂 but were too lazy to take down the icicles from the roof last year 😂 and this year they’re working absolutely fine (I live in Toronto, 🇨🇦 so yes, crazy weather 😂)
      I only have two suggestions…
      1- to turn them on
      Inside so you can update the firmware before put them outside… every year!
      2-invest in a wifi extender if you’re putting a lot of them so you have no issue with connectivity.

    como sincronizar más de una extensión de luces para que hagan los mismo al mismo tiempo.

    • @MaryMary-tf8gc
      @MaryMary-tf8gc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Espero q esto le ayude, (si no las a comprado todavía)
      La aplicación le permite 3 opciones.
      1) mapear todas las luces para un diseño gigante… como para toda la casa (diseños están en la app y se pueden hacer los propios)
      2) mapaer cada set de luz con el mismo efecto ( individual, pero el mismo diseño)
      3) usar diferentes diseños en diferentes sets de luces.
      Y ahora tienen el “twinkly music” que es una USB con sensor de sonido que se sincroniza con la música que esté sonando.
      (El mapeo, es como hacer un video dentro de la aplicación… cada luz en los sets de luces parpadean y la aplicación lee la ubicación en el set de cada lucecita según van parpadeando)
