I use to think the same thing when I first competed. It really depends on who's jumping. If the athlete is talented then it looks cool. If not.. then ehhhh idk 😭
@@KNS1996DFS A lot of olympic events are designed to cater to rich kids. That's why fencing and equestrian are in there. No plebs are going to waste time practicing triple jump which has no benefits to anything.
I would think the pole vault would be the oddest. Triple jump perhaps gives a better overall indication of a person's jumping ability, compared to the long jump, same as a 60m race shows one's speed better than e.g. a 5m race.
