The 840 came with the old -5 engines. It has the longer wing which gave one the option to order it with larger fuel capacity. The -10 engines are a popular conversion, however, the 840 has the old pressurization at 5.2. A -10 Turbo Commander in the 900 model or the 1000 (each came standard with the -10) gives you the ability to fly higher without exceeding a 8000 ft. cabin level. Now take the higher pressurization diff in a 900 or 1000 plus long range fuel and we have one hell of a machine.

Damn that was a goood video of the well layed out cockpit and easy to read. Use to fly a fully kitted out Shrike in my days of aviation.

An 840 is really a 690C. It has the Dash 10 engines and a different fuel system as well as a few other minor differences. It is about 50 kts faster than the 690A.

I really liked the way you showed the whole panel. I am struck by difference between IAS(205Kts) and GS(302Kts) am I right? Are you within a jet stream?

That would probably be a bit of a tail wind.

Looks like the left engine is running a little soft and hot. If I read the gauges right, about the 3:20 mark, looks like the left engine is putting out about about 15-20 HP less and running about 40-50 Degrees hotter?
