11 years of loyalty to the Assassin’s Creed Brand. 11 years of waiting for Assassin’s Creed in Japan setting. It’s here. For better or worse, I’m retiring on playing Assassin’s Creed after AC Shadows.
Just a shame that's it's fricking Quebec that's making it. They've single handedly made my least favorite games in the entire series. I'll be waiting for reviews and the inevitable black Friday sale, after 11 years, I've learned they'll do it every time, and I'm not invested in the over arching story anymore so the discord surrounding it (mostly toxic hate between 2 sides) is simply off putting rather than engaging anymore.
Yeah, that would be literally Insane of them. It would probably spell the actual doom of the company. It is there biggest IP. That said, they need to invest in talent, and improve the practices or they will lose me. They will be fine without me, but still, I want good games.

Not by Shadows anyway. It's being made by Ubisoft Quebec who have no interest in making "Assassins Creed" games. If you watch all the recent developers videos about it not once do they even say the word assassin when not referencing the title. Mirage and Nexus had me hopeful that at least Assassins were making a comeback in these games, but it seems Ubisoft is just going to go back to making them irrelevant again.
My brother in Christ it’s set in 1579, that is after the Ezio trilogy and Naoe has the Assassin emblem on her wrist as well as a hidden blade. If anything I trust Quebec with the RPG formula more given how Odyssey actually felt like a good RPG.
yup. focus is again open world rpg with tons of side quests and years of content and not telling an assassin v templar story. They should've created a new franchise after origins
Franchise needs a reboot, reworking all those systems from the ground up, reworking the stories of assassins and Templars , making the modern day more coherent, but unfortunately it will never have such a thing if it ever gets a reboot under Ubisoft it will no thrive but no other game gives me the power fantasy I feel in ac , ghost was probably the only game that did that and that’s why I have always hoped the franchise would clean up its act but let’s be real, ac shadows will probably have a lot of cool ideas and improvements but will go 5 steps backwards, no social stealth(or even the option of it) the parkour looks better than the rpg but will still probably be one button basic, the dialogue for the story looks bad, naoe’s voice actress was phoned in, the cinematics will probably look as bad as most of ac mirage cinematics the story will be shit so I’ll just come for gameplay but I’m not expecting a renaissance, I’ll have on sale and have fun because I had fun with a lot of parts in valhalla so I’ll have fun here , I’ll not just pay that horrendous price or any form of micro transactions
I know Oddssey was the one where if you don’t think about it as an assassins creed game, it’s pretty good. But because of that, i feel that trying to keep things in the AC universe is stunting the creativity a bit.
Italy - play as an Italian America - play as a native American China - play as a Chinese woman Norway - play as a viking Rome - play as a Roman Egypt - play as Egyptian Greece - play as a Greek Japan - play as an African🥴 Ubisoft is hard on that DEI powder
I do understand your point however there is two characters, One is Japanise. Yes the other isn't and I completely understand why people would say "have the game set in this country with the people from this country". Just throwing this here because a lot of people who bring up the same point you're making often overlook the fact their is a second character.
You made me wanna redownload Odyssey again 😂 because honestly I love the lore and the ability to defend and uphold either Sparta or the " Athenians" ( Leonidas voice)
Odyssey was my first AC game and I liked it so much I bought the entire series. I would say AC2 was my favorite and Origins is the 2nd. I fall into the camp of Connor was boring, but Valhalla was the worst because of the side stuff being obvious bloat and uninteresting. That's a shame because the combat was good.
*the biggest mistake any franchise can make is venturing too far away from numbered installments 👎 I personally feel like that's what killed the Saints Row and True Crime franchises. but also, not knowing when to end a franchise can be the ugly death of it as well....and that's where AC is now 🕵 too many unnumbered non-canon games and no real innovation since Origins/Odyssey. Personally, I'd combine Watch Dogs and AC into one franchise, finally ending the AC storyline and picking up the modern day path with Aiden, Marcus and Clara* 👌
What have me worry is that the creator of shadow are the creators of syndicate and odessy.😢 Mirage was created by ubisaft bordoux and quebec is the shadow odessy and syndicate ubisoft is more divide then the fan base! Even the devs say that the dont like the story the have to create!
Looking forward to this video!. I think the simple answer to the question is...yes it can be saved. But will it likely be saved? I don't think it will, sadly. Thoughts y'all?
Saved? LMFAO! What are you? A ten year old girl? Then don't buy it if you don't like what you see! But don't f***ing ruin it for those of us looking forward to ac shadows!!!!
Aside from technical failures like glitches and such, there really is no bad mainline Assassin’s Creed game. And Shadows looks to be the breath of fresh air the series needs simply based on the CG trailer and Yasuke. And I expect combat to be more brutal than past games when in control of Yasuke. I have a feeling it’ll be more focused on 1 v 1 duals as well. As Yasuke cuts his way through a battlefield maybe it goes into a more cinematic gameplay style when facing off 1v1 against a main target.
In dollars yes, but that doesn't necessarily equate to success. Especially when you factor in development costs, marketing and current level of inflation.
@@joeclaridy but it was their most successful launch in profits. Idk what else they could want. Not that I support it, they did it with a lot of mtx, but still… there’s nothing to be saved
I enjoy these varied styles. Its all about immersion to me, whether it's souls-like, walking simulators, exploring-focused, etc. I enjoy them all. I guess i live a life of taking things for what they are and live it up. Im genuinely surprised to see a critique of AC be something about having to play as a woman, gay or racial minority. Thank you for not having a nat-c critique. it's a nice change of pace.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey should have been a spin-off title that was its oen separate franchise For AC Shadows, they should have brought back the voice actor for Bayek to voice Yaskue
I feel like our generation will be defined by corporate greed destroying our favorite franchises and IPs, with AC being only a step or two away from something like Star Wars or Battlefield that is essentially dead for everyone outside of diehard fans.
I will never understand how people can complain for a "bloated" game. Like why complain for getting more, an able to spend more hours in a game for the same price as a another game that's only 20 to 30 hours?? I definitely got my $70 worth for Valhalla. 180+ hours. $20 extra dollars for a game that I can spend over 120+ hours playing compared to mirage or any of the older games... just doesn't make sence to me
Imagine having a party that lasts 48 hours and you can't leave. Now imagine that you don't like parties that last longer than an hour. Now imagine that the party is filled boring people and bland food. That about sums it up. More =/= better. There's also the concept of diminishing returns. An explosion looks cool but seeing the same explosion over and over again for longer than necessary gets boring and soon explosions become boring.
If Ubisoft added a third character, a male japanese character that you can choose to fight as a Melee focused Samurai or a stealth focused Shinobi, would that make players happy? If the game is slated for a November release, is it possible to add a new character before then? 🤔
No a new character cannot be added. They would probably have enough time to make a model but not enough to rewrite the whole story, redo every single cutscene, give him voicelines and give him unique weapon animations. Also it would just make Naoe and Yasuke completely obsolete which would result in more backlash.
@@llama6394 I'm not a game developer so I don't know how much goes into these things, but wouldn't making a new character model and just giving them the same weapon animations and dependant on if you choose Samurai or shinobi, just give them the same cutscenes? (Obviously not if those scenes are specific to Yasuke's story.) Would that not be possible? Obviously they'd need to get another voice
@@MrTrip666 no because they are dual ptrotagonists so cutscenes will involve Naoe and Yasuke together. You would have to rewrite the entire story to include 3 different assassins in the story. The marketing would have to be entirely redone as well. Yasuke's story will include him coming to Japan with Jesuits and being very strong and tall so you can't just replace his entire character with a native. Yasuke and Naoe have unique weapon sets so if you are having 3rd protagonist they would need their own weapon set otherwise there's just no consistency.
The true solution to this dilemma is character creation - so everyone can create (or choose from presets) whatever aspect they want. Of course, that would mean an entirely new product - and it seems that this franchise is not up for it
In my opinion I think a lot of it had to do with too many different developers Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Quebec and Singapore and bouncing the games between these studios each game. Different teams have different goals on how they want the game to be not that corporate leadership wasn’t telling them to push it a certain direction (RPG/Fantasy). The development team working on AC Shadows is the same team that worked on Odyssey. If only one team always developed the AC titles there may have been a lot more consistency in the series. Sure it might take longer to push the games out but that’s what the original fan base would have wanted. Not the yearly milking that ubi has been doing.
Odyssey felt like I was playing "Clash Of The Titans". Which is cool because I love all that Creek Mythology stuff. So it was fun as a fantasy rpg game but it didn't feel like AC. Valhalla on the other hand was boring and a chore. I couldn't even finish the game. I'll pass on AC Shadows with their DEI bs. Besides i just got Ghost Of Tsushima on PC and its awesome!
Genuine question. I’ve only played some small amounts of each of the ezio games, but I’ve never completed one. I want to play one from the series, but I don’t know which one I want to experience in full…. Sooo, which one should I play?
You know from what it looks like I think Ubisoft should let assassin's creed end or just take a hiatus from the franchise for a while because the things they added to the game like the fantasy gods stuff and people disliking it I think Ubisoft should make another new IP game with the open worlds and gods fantasy stuff like make a comic book game they have a star wars game coming out.
I always find it strange when people say the original formula got stale for AC when it lasted much longer than their RPG formula which is already getting stale 3 games in.
@@Exiled7 and yet we're praising them for potentially returning to their roots, interesting. I think the yearly releases are to blame, not the "formula".
Evie isn't actually canon in any level you can choo which twin to play as. Jacob was the originally planned protagonist and is the canon protagonist. Roth even says that it was only Jacob who was seen going after the gang leaders and conquering the districts of the city. The level you show of evie at the docks of london, even has Jacob on the level picture and Jacob chases after the poison from that level in bus sequence 4 levels. Your so big on canon that you only feature bad female eivor, but you don't even know that Jacob is actually canon in syndicate.
Why did no one complain when Ezio went to Constantinopole (Turkey.). Why did no one complain about that? It was the same situation. An Italian got to go to a completely new setting in the series and absolutely no one , had a problem with it. Now everyone is like " this is not fair. You can't do that. " Their problem starts with the idea of a game like GOT and because their expectation wasn't fulfilled from their idea.( isn't even out ,gush) Some people didn't want something new ,they wanted GOT 2 ,but with assassins. That's not Ubisoft's problem, it's their personal problem and the fact that no one is recognizing that ,it bothers me!
that's just not a correct way to view it. The game of revelations is set to be ezio a character we already knows outing in the franchise. We clearly see him going to the place, he is welcomed in by the outsider and isn't there for the sake of having a white italian man in Turkey. I don't have a massive issue with this character in Shadows as I haven't played the game so I don't know how they're going about it but if you were to put money on why the character is in the game would you put it on wanting to portray a cool character from Japan or wanting someone of colour to be the main character? It has nothing to do with not wanting him in the game or the fans being racist as many claim, people loved Origins who was an Arab in Eygpt so it made sense for the time setting. What people have an issue with or at least the sane take that isn't built from a racist perspective is that every ac has had a main character from the location of the game. Only acception to this is Valhalla with Evior however Norway is in the game and we travel from Norway to England. I don't think peoples issue is wanting another GOT. The main threetakes on his character are that he's been put in for a political motivation (which is good or bad depending on your politics), they could have just had two Japanise characters considering the game is set in Japan or just had the one female character (but I'm guessing Ubi did what they did with Kasandra which was that they didn't have faith that a female protagonist would do well so they gave you the choice between her and Alexios) and the final reason because people are genuinely just rasict and don't want a black main character.
AC:II is one of my favorite games. Full stop. In my opinion AC: III was last of the old formula. However, after launch bugs, I LOVED the combat of Unity. I think they should have stuck with that. More skill based. Even though there were leveled enemies, it didn’t feel as RPG-ey.
I wish they would just make these stand alone rpg games and stop putting “Assasins Creed” in front of it just bc they know it would make more money. That’s fine ppl would play those games and like them but they aren’t AC games. Origins is the perfect mix of them but the two after I’m pretty sure the average person wouldn’t know it was AC if we didn’t tell them to title.
I know it’s a very dumb and small thing to comment from a 30 minutes video, but I can’t state how much I hated Odyssey’s skill tree. Most, if not all the skill that you got were active combat skills, meaning that once you found the ones that u liked, levelling up felt super unrewarding cause not only I took AGES, but you were getting skills that you would never going to use cause u already had your favourite skills equipped, and I felt so unrewarding. Valhalla’s skill system with the constellation thing was not the amazing, but at least it fixed that as it separated regular skills from the active combat skills, that were tied to the open world, and even if most of the regular skills were just statistics related, the “node” ones were kind of nice (like the dual wielding, critic attack, etc)
When people say the social stealth in Valhalla was bad, i’m wandering if i played a different game than everyone else. When i played the game used social stealth all the time and it made me able to avoid so many hard fights. I kinda think most player just didnt know how it worked.
Bet this game will still sell good despite all these controversy. AC Valhalla, oh no, where's my Assassin? Best Selling AC Game AC Odyssey, where's my Assassin? GotY Candidate and non-AC fans loved it.
I'm sorry, but your criticism for Odyssey is stupid. You're talking about ho in Odysse you can fight a minotaur, but are we going to forget about all the egyptian mythical creatures in origins you could fight....?
@@Exiled7in Odyssey they were illusions created by Isu artifacts. Terrible argument that Origins is somehow ok but if Odyssey did more or less the same thing it “wasn’t AC”. Valhalla and Odyssey were the most successful games of them all but the “old school AC fans” have to find reasons to hate and act like the series literally spat in your face. It’s sad and repetitive to be honest. It’s like that group of fans can’t have their own opinions and have to follow a certain bandwagon opinion.
IF the gameplay turns out to be amazing watch all of you guys come back. I doubt it will be though just saying. I can’t get past the pricing and the online requirements
I have been playing AC since 2008 but in the last couple of years the franchise has completely lost its way and i have no interest playing the new installment. I expect nothing but a massive, bloated, grinding game with nothing of quality going for it
I've been a loyal Assassin since the 1st game, I've gotten so into the Lore that I've even read the books & comics. Hell I've got a Creed tattoo so... for better or worse I'm here for shadows despite Ubisoft & their greed... Odyssey nearly killed my love for the entire franchise, Valhalla was hit & miss in some area's & Mirage was much better but still not perfect.
The main problem with Assassin's Creed is its community. AC community does not have united opinion about AC games. All AC fans do know, what Ubisoft should NOT implement in the next AC game. But none of AC fans do know what Ubisoft should implement. "Make me entertained" - that's a community opinion, no more. What exactly should Ubisoft do to entertain you? Origins has the best and deepest story, best and deepest characters and best side quests in the whole series. Do community agree with it? No. Community does not need an adult story and adult characters. Community does need teenage protagonist with teenage story like Ezio. How could it be? If you were teenager in 2009, how can you stay teenager in 2024? Another point: AC community brought A BILLION to Ubisoft with Valhalla. A BILLION! More than any other AC game. Was the community entertained enough by Valhalla? What AC community does want for real? Does the series even need saving?
Tsushima is 12th century…Shadows is like 16th century…so they can have guns and more modern weaponry….will probably play it cause i just loved Japan in GoT….but this doesn’t deserve anything more than $20
My issue amd pref for this new game is the main character should be a ninja/kunoichi (or that type of character) rather than a samurai The game is called [Assassin's] creed after all
This was their last chance for me. I’ve wanted a Ninja Assassin’s Creed game for years but this isn’t it. This should have been an easy home run but not for Ubisoft. I don’t even have faith in the new Ghost Recon now. They went from being my favourite game company to most despised. This actually spurred me to buy Ghost of Tsushima on pc. Thanks Ubi.
Yes, and with mirage and nexus (which I know not a lot were able to play) I think it was in a lot of ways. The question is, can they keep it up, and is the pessimism in the community more of a cancer than the negative aspects of the games could ever be?
In the video you said big work for the creed has that been 100% confirmed? Haven’t heard that anywhere but hoping it’s true cause we need more brotherhood centric stories.
What do you mean by saved? Do you mean artistically go back to the style of the first few games? Well I'm sure Ubi will make a few games like Mirage in between from now on, but the narrative cohesion and gameplay vision of the older games I'm confident Ubisoft will Never return to it. Saved as in Financially successful? AC has never been doing this good, Pre-orders for Shadows is already looking strong according to Tom Henderson.
I do feel bad for you original assassins creed fans. But those days are simply over. Many of the wider audiences of gamers had enough with assassin's creed. It became very similar and boring. With Origins, turning the franchise into an RPG, than Odyssey following valhalla, the franchise has seen a resurgence. Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla are some of the most profitable assassin creed games ever made.
@@Exiled7 the game doesn’t even come out till November, it has plenty of competition, etc Elden ring, Star Wars out laws , space marines silent hill and I could go on and on on. And no suicide never hit # in Amazon japen
The franchise didn't need a change around 2014 from "the same old formula" - you and others say that yet have no evidence to believe that. It's just some idea that popped up and people like to regurgitate it. Syndicate's location (poor for parkour), Unity's bugs, and Black Flag's combat being boring, are all significant faults in a franchise which differentiated itself in the gaming world with its parkour and slower more weighted hand-to-hand combat. Origins is a great game, I still like it, and I'm glad it was made. But it wasn't necessary at the time. Alternatively, an AC with the exploration of BF plus the combat and parkour of Unity would have seen the franchise reinvigorated and would be the favorite in the franchise of almost every AC fan to this day.
@@Exiled7 So you're saying an AC with the exploration of BF plus the combat and parkour of Unity wouldn't have been widely loved at the time? Furthermore, this change you say that was needed wore out it's welcome really quick as Odyssey, just a year after Origins, is significantly disliked by the community.
The reason Odyssey was disliked by the community had nothing to do with the RPG Style as a default. They had an issue with the game pulling away from the lore and grounded nature that was the way of the franchise at the time. It's disingenuous to claim it was because of the RPG systems. That might have played a role but people were happy with origins, they would have accepted Odyssey if it was a game that focued on an assassin and kept itself more rooted in a form of reality instead of what they chose to do with it. Also I'm not saying that was a lie, I'm saying the idea that claiming the change didn't need to happen as people didn't care that much and it was just regurgitated points is a lie. Unity is the best representation of an AC game but that doesn't mean that the game was recieved well at the time of launch even by the fans which only gave the game credit at the time for the parkour and nothing else. This is what happens with our ability to be retrospective. You will see people praise games like AC 3, Unity and Syndicate now as we have the ability to see what would later happen with the likes of Odyssey and Valhalla but really all three weren't well recieved by the core fan base and the wider gaming audience. As by the time of Syndicate it had become a laughing stock for the bad launch of Unity and the year on year releases that felt hollow at the time.

I'll summarize it like this. A game that takes place in Japan that the Japanese audience outright rejects. Already has an identity crisis right from the cinematic trailer. Massive controversy over the depiction of Yasuke and Japanese architecture from both the West and the East. Is the first Ubisoft game following the shutdown of The Crew. Is tied with the AC Infinity Hub which is considered a terrible idea by the community. The historian shown in the trailer has a pretty shady history. We haven't even seen the gameplay and the game is already starting off on the wrong foot. Overpriced and has mtx.
so we just gonna ignore mirage ? i think Ubisoft are open to feedback that is clear with mirage and codename Hexe that is meant to be a very different type of AC. There is also Strong hints at Ubisoft Bordeaux getting a future title the future of Ac looks better then ever imo
I spoke about mirage in this video and made an hour long critique about what the game did well and bad. A quick summary - ubi made a dlc for Valhalla into a one off Game as they already said they are doing at least another 3 rpg game.

I love how people are talking like the franchise is in trouble while Valhalla is the most successful game of the franchise (in terms of sales) and Mirage also sold very well.
The franchise is getting a new generation of players. AC loyalists are no longer the target group. They are making what will be selling. They are a business afterall. It is what it is. I love the original style of AC games. Black Flag and Unity the most. But I would never say no to something like Origins or Odyssey.
AC is marketable. Yes it makes money. However sales and quality are two different things. The quality of Valhalla in comparison to earlier games …. I’d say even Origins was much better. They basically decided to make a Viking game and pasted AC to the title. AC aside, Ubisoft has a style game that is negative … open world, bloated, microtransactions ….
I don't care about Assassin's Creed since they shifted to RPG style Gameplay. I Always love the Unity, Black Flag and Syndicate Last I buyed the Mirage Game, It has no soul, One Weapon, No Varieties in Weapon, Cutscene Quality is Reducing slowly and Slowly..It was a Pretty good Decent Game, But still Gaming Mechanics of Unity and Syndicate is far better
Honestly, the people who didn't start with the OG games and started with like, Odyssey or Valhalla might feel the opposite of you, where the ezio collection is weird to them. Im just saying that some people might have the opposite opinion of you.
Nah, it finally lives up to its name. Origins is NOT an RPG, Odyssey and Valhalla. Origins wasn't fully committed to its RPG elements and had no dialogue choices.
You confuse the three rpg games with a strictly rpg trilogy. They were the Mythology Trilogy according to Ubisoft. The whole “RPG” crap has been around since at least Black Flag, longer if you consider in the Ezio trilogy you were literally roleplaying as: a florentine noble, an Assassin recruit, an Assassin, a Master Assassin, and a Mentor Assassin. Tired of RPG being used as a pejorative when every game in the series is an RPG to a degree.

Like dude even double assassinations not existing made it worse, like what's so hard in adding a double assassination like in the old days. The game ain't back to the roots, it's back to the shit that actually made the old games bad back to the roots. Game's just shit
Same, I'm burnt out on Assassin's Creed. Same way with Far Cry. Once the seventh game comes out, I'm gonna stop caring about the franchise

I loved AC3. The rope dart and hatchet made combat so much fun. Hoping Shadows will bring the rope dart back
Not by Shadows anyway.
@lukethelegend9705 odyssey was beyond bloated and boring I've never seen so much copy pasted locations
yup. focus is again open world rpg with tons of side quests and years of content and not telling an assassin v templar story. They should've created a new franchise after origins
@@lukethelegend9705Odyssey made me appreciate Mass Effect Andromeda.... Mass. Effect. Andromeda. ... Yeah.
Franchise needs a reboot, reworking all those systems from the ground up, reworking the stories of assassins and Templars , making the modern day more coherent, but unfortunately it will never have such a thing
if it ever gets a reboot under Ubisoft it will no thrive but no other game gives me the power fantasy I feel in ac , ghost was probably the only game that did that and that’s why I have always hoped the franchise would clean up its act
but let’s be real, ac shadows will probably have a lot of cool ideas and improvements but will go 5 steps backwards, no social stealth(or even the option of it)
the parkour looks better than the rpg but will still probably be one button basic, the dialogue for the story looks bad, naoe’s voice actress was phoned in, the cinematics will probably look as bad as most of ac mirage cinematics
the story will be shit so I’ll just come for gameplay but I’m not expecting a renaissance, I’ll have on sale and have fun because I had fun with a lot of parts in valhalla so I’ll have fun here , I’ll not just pay that horrendous price or any form of micro transactions
I know Oddssey was the one where if you don’t think about it as an assassins creed game, it’s pretty good. But because of that, i feel that trying to keep things in the AC universe is stunting the creativity a bit.
What can I say… I love Assassin’s Creed and I can’t help but always be optimistic when a new game releases. ❤

America - play as a native American
China - play as a Chinese woman
Norway - play as a viking

Ubisoft is hard on that DEI powder
I do understand your point however there is two characters, One is Japanise. Yes the other isn't and I completely understand why people would say "have the game set in this country with the people from this country". Just throwing this here because a lot of people who bring up the same point you're making often overlook the fact their is a second character.
@@Exiled7 If you know who the head writer is you'd know why people are highlighting this point.
I am aware, I don't think people should automatically complain when you don't know what the story actually is.

that's fair
I'm Personally Kind Of Hoping AC Red Is Good Definitley NOT Preordering though I don't trust Ubisoft that much
the Ezio Trilogy is awesome (best era of AC), And I love Odyssey, because i love Greece xD, specially the classical era. And the Myths of course
Mirage didnt saved it again but it was in the rught direction again, if only Shadows can faithfully follow it up
What have me worry is that the creator of shadow are the creators of syndicate and odessy.😢
Mirage was created by ubisaft bordoux and quebec is the shadow odessy and syndicate ubisoft is more divide then the fan base!
Even the devs say that the dont like the story the have to create!
Looking forward to this video!. I think the simple answer to the question is...yes it can be saved. But will it likely be saved? I don't think it will, sadly. Thoughts y'all?
My view is it could be, but the fan base is to big and too split for people to truly be happy.
Saved? LMFAO! What are you? A ten year old girl? Then don't buy it if you don't like what you see! But don't f***ing ruin it for those of us looking forward to ac shadows!!!!
According to sales numbers of the last few AC games, it’s all over 10 million copies. Question is does it need to be saved?
black flag out sold it then.
Been a loyal fan since day one and I'm extremely disappointed in ubisoft for what they did to this great franchise
Saved from what? The last big one was their most successful launch (Valhalla)

Im genuinely surprised to see a critique of AC be something about having to play as a woman, gay or racial minority.
Thank you for not having a nat-c critique. it's a nice change of pace.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey should have been a spin-off title that was its oen separate franchise
For AC Shadows, they should have brought back the voice actor for Bayek to voice Yaskue
I feel like our generation will be defined by corporate greed destroying our favorite franchises and IPs, with AC being only a step or two away from something like Star Wars or Battlefield that is essentially dead for everyone outside of diehard fans.
To answer the title. No
Would you do a video essay of something like The complete history of the AC franchise?
Guys the season system is actually fire give this game a chance every weapon has there own skill tree I’ve heard
I will never understand how people can complain for a "bloated" game. Like why complain for getting more, an able to spend more hours in a game for the same price as a another game that's only 20 to 30 hours?? I definitely got my $70 worth for Valhalla. 180+ hours. $20 extra dollars for a game that I can spend over 120+ hours playing compared to mirage or any of the older games... just doesn't make sence to me
Because it has a lot of content that has zero depth to it. More doesn’t equal better
@@llama6394 true, true. Thank you
The true solution to this dilemma is character creation - so everyone can create (or choose from presets) whatever aspect they want. Of course, that would mean an entirely new product - and it seems that this franchise is not up for it
We all enjoy listening to a guy cry about a game series for 30 minutes! THANKS FOR THIS BANGER
Man Odyssey was a amazing!!!!!
Also I believe there is more development teams than the ones I mentioned, those were just the ones that came to minf
stopped caring about ac a long time ago. last game i played was black flag, the last good ac in my opinion
Origins still good in my opinion. Oddyssey debatable, but if its not count as AC games it is good.
for god's sake PLEASE stop saying "RPG game" THE G STANDS FOR "GAME"
Odyssey felt like I was playing "Clash Of The Titans". Which is cool because I love all that Creek Mythology stuff. So it was fun as a fantasy rpg game but it didn't feel like AC.
Valhalla on the other hand was boring and a chore. I couldn't even finish the game.
I'll pass on AC Shadows with their DEI bs. Besides i just got Ghost Of Tsushima on PC and its awesome!
i think if ac shadows is done right it can be really good for the series and might be our first step to getting back to back good ac games
Like you said in the video, I hope they got rid of the dialogue decisions. It didn’t help anything especially during Valhalla.

One thing getting stale quicker than the other doesn’t mean the original thing wasn’t stale
@@Exiled7 and yet we're praising them for potentially returning to their roots, interesting. I think the yearly releases are to blame, not the "formula".

Do you think yasuke is gonna be able to parkour if he can’t then what about us fan who wanna play as the brute an climb
you type of “fans” are the reason it isn’t an actual assassin game anymore.
Their problem starts with the idea of a game like GOT and because their expectation wasn't fulfilled from their idea.( isn't even out ,gush) Some people didn't want something new ,they wanted GOT 2 ,but with assassins.
Unity was tits. It was so good after all the bugs were fixed.
'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'
Higher than ever sales on the last game? Don’t think it needs saving man. Only saved for our ridicule, which they don’t care much about.

I'm sorry, but your criticism for Odyssey is stupid. You're talking about ho in Odysse you can fight a minotaur, but are we going to forget about all the egyptian mythical creatures in origins you could fight....?

6:06 this why I hate some takes on games … people don’t comprehend a lot and they nitpick what’s bothering them the most about these games
Tsushima is 12th century…Shadows is like 16th century…so they can have guns and more modern weaponry….will probably play it cause i just loved Japan in GoT….but this doesn’t deserve anything more than $20
The franchise technically doesn’t need saved if it sells well from Ubisoft eyes

Both not Big*
not 100% confirmed but in the trailer they are both saying the words of the creed
Shadows is the 1st game I been excited for since origins

You're just lying. Look through every single big creator or publication at the time. The idea around the franchise was it needed change.
As by the time of Syndicate it had become a laughing stock for the bad launch of Unity and the year on year releases that felt hollow at the time.
can be absolutely saved: delay publishing date for some months. Deeply excuse to the gamers. Then model alternative japanese character to play. But I am affaid they need the money NOW and FAST.

Gotta call bs on some comments about odyssey ignoring origins if you pay attention from the lore thats always been there it works and fits in the universe .
nope, it's not always been there, the whole idea of Retcons is to change something that already exists. You can see videos discussing how they retconned things is odyssey.

@@Exiled7 i mean that's fair i was more addressing all the comments about the last few years but they can still get the RPG style right Origins was great they just Took Origins and made the wrong changes
@@Exiled7 i think Ubisoft Bordeaux did a great good into making it a stand alone game considering the time frame and limited resources ( i understand u have probably mentioned this but like i said it just my opinion everyone is entitled to one and i respect everyone's even if i don't agree with it )👍
Valhalla was such a waste I won’t touch this game
i just cant with the homing arrow and drone birds 😂 i enjoyed AC1, the Ezio saga, AC3-AC Rogue and lastly Unity thats it..
Not unless they remake this game from scratch💯
We already know that Shadows will be an RPG game
No saving the big city sim game. Yasuke sneaking up and killing Asians is a little bit too close to home actually.
For the first time since the introduction of Assassin's Creed I am not interested in buying the new Assassin's Creed title. Once again, I get the feeling Ubisoft is going to do a Syndicate while shitting on the fanbase who wanted an assassin ninja game for so many years. If anything I'd rather play Ghost of Tsushima or Sekiro.
I haven’t even finished the video but damn is it a good one! I’ve been a fan of the series since 2012 and I fell in love with the games, Origins, though I was hyped for it, made me scared that I would fall out of love with this franchise and I gotta say it’s the main reason why I’m still a fan, I’m hoping Shadows captures the magic that origins had
Yeah new players want rpg open world game so they will definitely stick to one that players want.
I Always love the Unity, Black Flag and Syndicate
Last I buyed the Mirage Game, It has no soul, One Weapon, No Varieties in Weapon, Cutscene Quality is Reducing slowly and Slowly..It was a Pretty good Decent Game, But still Gaming Mechanics of Unity and Syndicate is far better
Desmond mother wil be the modern day protagonists
In black flag its is stayted that Desmond ancestory from his mother side is japanese
Ubisoft needs to sell AC to a dev/publisher that cares.
Honestly, the people who didn't start with the OG games and started with like, Odyssey or Valhalla might feel the opposite of you, where the ezio collection is weird to them. Im just saying that some people might have the opposite opinion of you.
yep, and I would say they have the wrong opinion
Normies aren't actual fans.
Rpg isn't a trilogy anymore. Now it's a Quadrilogy.
@@lukethelegend9705 that kind of RPG genre was dead long time ago. Nowdays rpg mostly means item looting, level grinding, clearing dungeon and defeating bosses.
Ubigreed saw Witcher success alongside GoW and went full lets make abomination😂😂😂😂
