    I’ve had to deal with so many clogged toilets all my life-the best and most consistent solution is using dish soap when it’s clogged. I wait a few mins and flush. 98% of the time it just unclogs itself! Plus I use the antibacterial versions to balm my germ anxiety at the same time. 😂

    • @marlenecesarotti8468
      @marlenecesarotti8468 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I do same thing pour the dish soap & let sit as long or overnight & it will flush ...sponges atrr fine U just throw away when any sponge gets funky but they last & do good job.

      I just add bleach to the regular toilet water and let it sit, then scrub and flush. Might take a couple of times to get it out but it works.

    • @MrWirelesscaller
      @MrWirelesscaller ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Once you get it unclogged once a week fill a 5 gallon bucket with water and pour it in the toilet once per week and you'll never have your toilet clog up, you won't need to use chemicals in the future to unclog it. The main problem with all these "water efficient" toilets is that the plumbing from most older homes to the main sewage weren't replaced therefore it required a certain amount of water for it's slope to push any blockage down pipe. Pouring 5 gallons of water all at once (as fast as you can feed the toilet) will force that mass down far enough for the main sewer lines to take over.

      Hold bucket up high does best MY home built 1908 ! USE 1000 sheets per roll tissue also, NO clog!

    I have used the Dollar Store version of CLR to get rid of rings by pouring some in the bowl while I am gone all day. Seems to work great! Sometimes I think those rings are caused by minerals building up, not just mold stains.

    If you use equal parts Dawn dish soap and baking soda to make a paste, add a little more Dawn so it isn't too thick. Brush that all over your toilet bowl, add a little extra to any ring, let set for a few hours, or overnight, depending on stain or ring, then scrub with toilet brush. It works perfectly. Even with a stubborn calcium ring, takes a little more scrubbing, but it works.

    what ever you do, don't buy a toilet brush from one of the dollar stores. we got one that the end bristles were blue and the rest white. used it and hung it over the bowl to dry using the lid to keep it in place one night after cleaning before bed for overnight. the blue part was some kind of covering of paint or similar and dripped into the bowl. it floated and left a blue ring around the edge of the water. used normal toilet cleaner, pumice stone, vinegar, barkeepers, comet, paint remover, and probably a dozen other things that didn't touch it in the least. six months later it is slowly fading, but still noticable. the brush is not something to go cheap on

  • @slc1161
    @slc1161 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Easier solution is toilet pumice stone. Use some baking soda. Or scrub daddy with baking soda. Make a thick paste. Apply to stains. Make sure you either shut the water off or plunge out the water. Apply paste for several hours. Spray vinegar and let it foam. That also helps with hard water stains. Scrub briefly, then flush.

      Bar keeper's friend, or a pumice stone if the bkf doesn't do it. You get the pumice stone wet before rubbing it on the ring.

      Just wondering if Lime Away would work? I have hard water. Use Lime Away soaked paper towels in my bathrub drain area where my faucet drips all the time. It works.

    I have this same toilet and my handle broke and I can't find a replacement for it. NONE of the ones I have bought fit!! I know it's an outside chance, but does anyone know what I need to be buying? I have tried about a half dozen so far:-((((( I am leaving the lid off and pulling the chain to flush now.

    I use a pumice stone that is made for cleaning toilet rings (also at DT) takes just a minute or two…

    What did you put in the spray bottle, to spray the holes and inside rim of the toilet bowl? Vinegar or bleach?

    You could use toilet tissue instead of paper towels in your toilet to apply the cleaning solution in order to remove the stains. This way, all you have to do is flush and it is gone. Be careful to not use too much toilet paper :)

    I had a major blocked toilet. I dumped a big bottle of Mira Lax, stool softeners, and some other laxatives I had lying around. I let it sit for a while it got things started in about and hour. If I do it again I would have let it sit longer, overnight if possible. Milk of Magnesia works faster on the body so maybe I will keep some of that around the house.

    The mineral deposits here in Texas are destroyed with a “pumice stone on a stick” pretty quickly. I’m just not that patient for wait hours to get gratification
