I used to live in Santa Monica for about 6 years. Unfortunately it became a liberal paradise. It's a common occurrence to step around crap piles on the sidewalk, needles, and cracked out hobos. When you go home you need to make sure no one followed you because they'll rob you at your door. It was nice for the weather and nightlife, but the progressive liberal policies made it a cesspool.
