In the video, about 7:58, you where talking about the locating pin for the lower "A" arm shaft. I have a 67 G20 and putting together the shaft, boots and nuts into the lower control arm. The holes are off-set by about 1/4", not straight across. I know the front of the shaft fits the pin, but on the bench without the truck disassembled and want to install it correctly. (One left / one right) With the shaft centered in the "A" arm, rubber boots installed, nuts torqued to book specs W/O spacer says 130 ft. lbs. the shaft should little or no play front to rear within the control arm. Turning the shaft for the alignment hole to face the front, has me slightly confused. I did a 67 C10 and if I remember, there where two holes for mounting on either side, but straight across...I am over-thinking this or have you seen this on replacement aftermarket shafts with metal nut bushing before. Thoughts? Thanks for the video, all good info! (Yes, I have GM factory manual for 1967 C10 trucks and is not clear)
Hey Dean, sounds like we need a bit of clarification on what you're trying to do here. Feel free to give us a call and we'd be happy to help you out. The number to our tech line is 952-985-5675, and we're here M-F 8-5pm CST. Thanks!
Ok. The OEM "A" arm shaft and bushings have one hole at front, but the aftermarket shaft/bushing kit comes with two that after measuring are about 3/16" off from one end to the other. Confusing for 1978 ASE Master Tech / retired. Installing C20 lower "A" arms for disc brakes on 67 C10 with steering knuckles & rotors from 88-98 GMT400 / 00-02 Express with same 1 1/4" rotors, 11" O.D. and caliper with 2 15/16" piston, GVW 7200 truck / GVW 7300 Van. This is 6 lug, 5.5" pattern. The reference to "spacers" maybe the heavy duty lower control arms come with gusset on bottom between lower BJ & spring pocket, then side of "A" arm where shaft bushings screw in. Will take photos. Thanks / will call.
Thanks for the extra info, Dean. Photos always help as well. Feel free to reach out to our tech line at the number above, or email us at sales@qa1.net. Thanks!
@@QA1TECH I believe the aftermarket control arm shaft kits are designed to fit left or right. A guy has to simply measure the side being replaced to use the shaft pointed to correct direction. Also, please let folks know the 1/2” “U” bolts are upgraded to 9/16”. A 1977 TSB notes the stronger upgrade eliminating breaking the pin or shearing it part way off as noted in the video. In the video notes, it would be nice to include part numbers for parts sold or used in the kit. I wish I had the money for everything, but don’t. Thanks kindly!
Got a silly question regarding the spring on the coilover. I had a shop install my front coils and noticed that the QA1 logo on the spring is oriented upside down on one side. I assume that indicates the spring was installed upside down. Is this anything to worry about? Seems to me that the spring rate is the spring rate, regardless of which end of the spring is up or down, and maybe I shouldn't let an upside down logo bother me, but I also would prefer a little bit better attention to detail from a professional.
Anyone have any idea why the QA1 motor mounts for my LS2 won't line up in my 65 c10 I had a shop do the QAI front and rear suspension, can't get the mounts bolted to the block I used carriage bolts I bought appear to be hitting the engine block ? any suggestions,
So for my 70 c10 step side I need to make sure I get spindles for 73 and on? Do I need to purchase any other front suspension parts or can stock parts connect to these tubular arms?
What spindles and front brakes did you use? Are they dropped (2-2 1/2"), if not can you use dropped spindles with out killing the handling? Great setup, well done. (R.I.P. Bruce Neilsen)
have you got a list of all the components that were used in this job? do you sell this as a kit, front rear, end everything I need componets wise to achieve the same results? Thanks
We sell this as kits. One for the front, one for the rear, and the sway bars are sold separately. The link below will lead you to each set you'll need. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions and keep us updated on your build! www.qa1.net/c10
Good capture but the volume is all over the place. I suggest a re render w/your audio level better controlled. I had a difficult time watching w/o waking up the family because I couldn't control the erratic volume levels. I'm hoping u will add EPS rack in later videos & delete the PS pump & all associated w/it.
Hey Richard, it depends on which configuration you want to go with. Here's a link to our front C10 systems. Part numbers are located on one of the tabs, thanks! bit.ly/2QIeYwQ
They start around $2400 through us. We recommend going through one of our authorized dealers to find the best deals on pricing! You can find local dealers here: www.QA1.net/dealers
This truck handles so well now, I can't even begin to describe it! Take corners like a vette! Seriously
Same kit I have on my 1972 C10. Love it!
What an awesome truck!!!
You should look into getting one for yourself!

Wow, really nice, good video!

Not a silly question! Never hurts to ask. Your spring will work just fine the way it was installed.
Sweet Ride!!!
Qa1 : I assembled my shocks earlier, I can't fit a 7/8 wrench through the spring to get on the eyelet jam nut. Do I need a crows foot?
Great company unbeatable products!!
What’s the smallest wheel that can be fitted ?
Just about to buy this for my 71c10
Awesome! Let us know if you have any questions at all. Feel free to give us a call at 952-985-5675 M-F 8-5pm CST.
Willing to donate my 1986 toyota pickup for test fits😁 awesome work.
Awesome!

Do drop spindles have to be 73-87 or could would 72 drop spindles work on these control arms?
They have to be 73-87. Same for OEM spindles as well.
So for my 70 c10 step side I need to make sure I get spindles for 73 and on?
Do I need to purchase any other front suspension parts or can stock parts connect to these tubular arms?
That is sweet!
Do you have any videos coming for Rear Kits on a square body? 73-87?
Hi there! We are hoping to have some videos soon!
What spindles and front brakes did you use? Are they dropped (2-2 1/2"), if not can you use dropped spindles with out killing the handling? Great setup, well done.
(R.I.P. Bruce Neilsen)
Red Hot Rod yes they are 2" drop spindles
Que buen laburo!!!

can this be done with the engine still in?
It sure can!
What year spindles can I use ? I have a 1970 c10
These systems require the use of 73-87 C10 spindles.
2:44 head smoking from thinking to hard
😂😂😂
How long did the job take?
Depending on your experience and access to all the right tools, it shouldn't take you more than a couple days.
Good capture but the volume is all over the place. I suggest a re render w/your audio level better controlled. I had a difficult time watching w/o waking up the family because I couldn't control the erratic volume levels.

What is the cost of this upgrade
The front suspension starts around $1860 through a dealer.
Will this kit work with stock drums ? Im not wanting to do a disk brake upgrade.
nice!
What’s the part number? I want it for my 67
