Amazing to see how there are more fields in the distance in the view from Wibsey. All filled in with housing estates. Look at the people shopping in the centre. Not even that long ago and still far better.

Brings back memories of the green and yellow livery and the city centre which has undergone a lot of change. There's a "Rossi's" Ice Cream van that appears at 06:42 that's still doing the rounds. Great stuff, really enjoyed it.

kazam Shah+ Bradford Council has a lot to answer for. They destroyed such a great city centre.

Will Scarlett, yes very true. Bradford Council should be held accountable for their actions, i`m surprised they haven`t been brought to a hearing. The 90`s and early noughties were a very optimistic time for me. I truly felt that we, as a city were moving foward together. Everything took a downward spiral after the demolition of the Old Broadway buildings began in March 2004. I`m not even sure what happened to the friendly people i used to know in Bradford town.

Everyone has their own era of nostalgia for Bradford, but the general opinion is it began to decline in the 1960s onwards. However IMHO I would say this is true and that it became really noticeable in the late 1990s onwards. In 2020 it is a total cesspit. Shame because it had a lot to offer at one point.

Forster Square began running electric services to Leeds in spring '95 so the mention of the class 308s in this video puts it around about that time. Not sure why the 321 was featured as they didn't serve that line until several years later when the 333s had come in. I still like that red/cream livery the local units wore, nicer than the current liveries IMO.

I've a feeling this was a couple of years earlier than 1995. The average car in the vid seems to belong to about the 1992/3 era.

Maybe in those days more money was spent on street cleaning, so that it was done more frequently? I don't know for sure.

@@kazamshah4543 It was not clean outside the city center in the early/mid 90s, I distinctly remember how dirty it was in Manningham and Girlington around that time, and still is today. Not a lot of change really. Just a lot of nostalgia and rose tinted specs.

Good point. Girlington was already a dirty mice infested shithole when the Pakistani`s started to move in at that time. Manningham and Girlington are even more disgusting these days. Saw kids playing with a large rat at the Mughul gardens in Lister Park. Welcome to third world hellhole!!!
