7:36 Instead of making the news unskippable (cause there will be people who still mash through it and don't read any of it) Give the Splatoon 4 idols a podcast! Make it so you can play it at anytime and then it'll just be running at the top of your screen while you run around the town or lobby or shop and the idols will talk about random stuff like how they feel about different stages or what they've been up to. That way you can still get idol flavor text when you feel like reading it, but it won't consistently interrupt you booting up the game
@@Pepperknight341 Yeah, that's where I got the idea from ^^ I just think player's should have the option to turn it on and off whenever so they're more likely to read it
I couldn't agree more with the special pop-ups, there are times where I can hear a hammer, but I have to guess if it's from my team or not, and end up dying from it
Long story short, Victoria wants: 1. More paint combinations. 2. Advanced lobby code system. 3. More precise instructions. 4. Notifications during the game. 5. Expanded lobby 6. Incentivized side modes (whatever that means) 7. Patch notes mentioned in-game 8. She wants unskippable news (WHHHHHYYYYYYYY?!) 9. Custom weapon kits (please no, I was told off for that idea on social media) 10. A lot more customization. 11. Apartments (I'm not surprised) I hope I got this correct.
Unskippable news would be really annoying whenever a new challenge happens, and custom kits could probably be limited to private battles (i don't think anyone wants to see squeezer + burst/booyah)
Custom weapon kits in private battles more so than normal gameplay though, which I think would be the best compromise if the devs were to add the option. And Vic just wants the extra content to be more engaging and rewarding. How often do you go into the alleyway to play Tableturf against the NPC's? She wants that to be something that feels rewarding to do! :D
I really like the changes you suggested. Here's some that I want (aside from common requests like more hair/pant styles, map design, etc): General: - Default ink color for outside multiplayer (I like my orange hair, and I want to keep it orange). - Volume control for music, dialogue and sound effects. - Maybe instead of unskippable news returning, we could have the option to make it “unskippable.” Make it something you turn on or off in the options menu, with it being on by default. Recon Mode: - Make the timer optional, invite friends, take pictures with friends, swap weapons while in recon, clean up option, change game modes (including Splatfests when they're available). Also, *Recon salmon run maps!* - Improved photo mode. I want more poses (including every pose unlocked in the catalog if catalogs return), wider camera movement, additional filters, and most importantly *the ability to pose without amiibo.* Salmon Run: - High-performing Salmon Run workers should high-five and fist bump each other ;D. - A bring your weapon to work day for Salmon Run. - Recon Salmon Run maps. - Single-Player Salmon Run for those who want to take on a Salmon Run solo. It could be good practice, allowing players to get to know the maps and the bosses better for multiplayer. Single-Player: - Way too many to list, lol.
This is probably very niche, but I want gear to be able to be sorted by color or item (like glasses, headphones, hats, earrings, etc) I consider Splatoon as a fashion game a lot, and when making a fit sometimes it's impossible to find the piece you need despite knowing you have it. The game Fashion Dreamer let's you sort by color and clothing type and I might be a little spoiled by that lol. But I feel like it would help a lot since not everyone knows exactly what brand a piece of gear is in. It would also help to quickly find the right gear to get a synergy bonus in Splatfest when you end up on a cracked team of randoms. We already can sort gear by ability and brand, what's a few more nuanced options? Edit - also let us use all our unlocked emotes in photo mode because the 12 default they give you is not enough
omg atleast colors im currently making amiibo outfits in the style orange for the orange squid, yellow for frye etc. and itd be nice :) also a multicolor option
Here's some of my ideas that weren't in this video 1: not only should the map announcements remain skippable, but they should be skippable all the time. The fact that they're not during Splatfests is really annoying. The important things like patch announcements and Splatfest results can stay the way they are 2: private battles should give money and EXP, money and EXP don't give you an advantage in solo queue so there's no reason we can't just hand them out like candy 3: just let me buy anything and everything in the shops if I'm willing to scroll through the giant list. No more hoping on RNG to summon the clothes I like 4: the amount of ability chunks required for Splatfest tees should be how it works for all gear, nobody likes grinding 5: more control over the music. They could borrow the mechanics from Smashy Bros where every song has a slider that you can move to determine how often you hear it 6: the ability to set a default ink color for your character, where they'll always be that color in the plaza, lobby, and in recon mode 7: either remove catalogs entirely or just remove the time limits. Either let me hoard them and level them up at my own pace or remove them and put new things in the shops. There's no reason to make items limited time only in a game I already fully paid for 8: DRESSES PLEASE GIVE ME DRESSES I NEED PRETTY DRESSES
I think the gear shop is fine, but it could use an update. Make it more Able sister from animal crossing: bigger list. We have 3 stores with the Dlc... why do they all sell the same gear? Come on Nintendooo.
I hope that when the final update has come out they do something about all the catalogue stuff we missed out on. Like some of us have lives and can't 100 grind every single one. And no- the rng shell out machine doesn't count.
That whole "in-game awareness" point was done really well. You put into words what I (and probably a lot of other people) have been trying to think of for a while! I can see a finished game within Splatoon 3, and the recent changes have given me hope for a brighter future in the series.
at around 2:00, the reason for all of the wahoo timer memes in the splatoon community and the all the niche knowledge is because THERES NO LOADING SCREEN TIPS
1:33 Agreed. I was hoping for a Main Power UP Scenario where we get info on what the Sub/Special Power UP did on the weapons that had them. 2:22 yeah, at this point : you might as well have an A button somewhere to say ">>" and a Hold Function to automatically speed results.
All I want is the og octoling hairstyle and having a day and night cycle, maybe a weather cycle, like having snow during winter, brighter lens flares in summer, and having the trees leaves change as the seasons do
First point right off the bat! Yes! Thank you! I've been complaining about the ink colors in 3 for years now! Remember colored pants? No you don't, they're always either yellow or blurple!
7:37 Actually, there are times when the news IS unskippable, but it's VERY strange where they applied it. You can't skip the news during Splatfest announcements and Big Runs, that's nothing new. But for some reason, you also can't skip it during CHALLENGE ANNOUNCEMENTS?! There's, like, only 10% of the playerbase that care about those. Personally, I think the news should be skippable for everything besides Splatfest-related & Big Run-related announcements. Nothing more, nothing less.
The news is also straight up unskippable for the entire duration of a splatfest. Also I don’t mind challenge announcements being unskippable, because they don’t happen all the time so it’s nice to know when one is actually happening.
I loved that in Splatoon 3 we had 3 idols so every since the start of Splatoon 3, for Splatoon four to have two idol groups and they would fight each other in the Splatfests and in the end, have four idols!
I really hope they make an arcade of some sort. This is so that you can play all your favorite Splatoon minigames (even the old ones). I also think that they CAN add 4 idols, but just split the 4 into 2 teams. 2 idols go on one team, the other 2 go on the other team. One last thing I think that Splatoon 4 SHOULD do is add movement mechanics to the overall gameplay. It just sucks that those type of mechanics are locked behind weapons like dualies. Sure, there’s squid roll and squid surge, but there just needs to be more to enhance gameplay and make it a little more fair (in my opinion).
YESSS i feel like they should repurpose the shoal for that cause i dont really see people using local play alot?? plus the shoal IS technically an arcade so the ability to actually PLAY minigames like squid beats and such would be very cool.
I really want the old s1 feature where you could see your gear icons light up mid game when they were active it would be so helpful for so many abilities
What they could do for pools would be: have a separate type of pools dedicated to people instead of groups, so that people could follow influencers directly instead of having to find their pool. If too many people were joining them or they just didn’t want people to they could make their pool private.
APARTMENTS, I WANNA THEM SO BAD, go to the Animal Crossing New Horizons route, people can visit them instead of only "Fresh" the layout, like, I hate winning locker items because I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LOCKER. As for the color I always stay into the "lock" for yellow/blue, some colors from past splatfests get me confused and a not so clear view, but more options would be good tho.
I want it to be possible to change EVERYTHING about your character through the Equip menu. You can switch your hairstyle, eyebrows, and pants right there…so why can i not change my characters species or eye color through that menu? (or save that stuff in freshest fits) To do that you gotta go do a DIFFERENT MENU AND SCROLL ALL THE WAY THROUGH IT-and then go through a cutscene and select ALL the stuff again. Idk why you gotta go to player settings for some stuff but others you can do between matches??? Its such a small thing but it would be appreciated :D
Here's what I want. In no particular order: 1. Ink Savor Main, Sub, and Ink Recovery Up, replaced with ink tanks with different attributes. 2. Pants/Skirts as gear with it's own Main Abilities and sub slots. 3. Body Suits - Located in the Shirts gear group. They have 2 - 4 Main Abilities (Based on how many gear slots they occupy.) as well as a Sub multiplier for each Main ability slot (Example:2 Main Abilities = [Number of Sub Abilities]X2.). As well as when scrubbed, the amount of chunks is multiplied by the multiplier. It does require more chunks to place abilities on as a trade off, but you can place 2 - 4 gear exclusive abilities on it, so long as the abilities correspond with the occupied gear slots (Example: Order Suit Replica can have 2 Mains of Ninja Squid, or 2 Mains Pants abilities.). 5. Optional accessories (1 for each Gear.) that increase your rolls for abilities, that also stacks with Drinks. 6. Team Gold and Exp. tickets stacking with each other, because there is no reason for the team gold ticket to be so rare. 7. Gaining Exp. from Salmon Run. 8. The amount of scales you get from a Triumvirate Wave should be the standard amount for a normal King Salmonid Wave. 9. Dresses as a Gear option. 10. "Idol Battle!" During Splatfest, If your Team is in a mirror match, you'll face off against 1 of 3 teams: Squid Sisters: Callie, Marie, Captain, and Agent 4 Off the Hook: Pearl, Marina, Agent 8, and Acht Deep Cut: Shiver, Frye, Agent 3, and Big Man (Who has more HP to compensate for his hit box.) Defeating any team will give you more clout, but you loose clout if you lose. Beating the teams multiple times will give you the Amiibo gear, as well as their outfits.
2:41 Actually, I prefer the new circle notifications that replaced S2's special weapon feed. It was cool, yes, but I rarely ever saw it. The Circle notifications, on the other hand, I actually do see, and quite often at that. I wouldn't be opposed to having both, though, if it doesn't create too much UI clutter.
I think my top five would be, in no particular order: - Fully disconnect gear from outfits (i.e. have the gear options be done separately from the clothing options, maybe adding additional clothing options as a result since, well, that isn't restricted by the gear system any more - Glasses and hats would be possible, as would mixing and matching shirts and jackets (outside of options that would cause clipping, etc) -matchmaking for tableturf -imrpoved salmon run rewards (...Seriously 300p towards catalogue per wave is way too low - it's the mode that takes longest and it's only slightly more than a turf war loss for winning, even before we get into the obvious grindfest that is scales - If you need 100 golden scales for anything, golden scales should never be dropping at below 1%) -something new for story mode. We've had the 'pick one weapon of three for the stage' for two in a row now, and while that hasn't gotten stale yet, I want something to replace it before it does, and while Side Order was new, it wasn't something I think would work for the main story mode. -a return of shifty stations
Also one more thing: WHY THE F*CK DO YOU WANT UNSKIPPABLE NEWS BACK?! IT JUST HURTS THE GAME DON’T ASK TO HAVE SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE WANTED GONE. Also, if an army of people end up clawing at your front door for suggesting this, don’t even think of being surprised.
@@VicvillonPersonally, I'd combine both styles into one, having both the directional circle and the pop-up notice at the same time. I think that both systems working in tandem would be a great way of handling it.
Hopefully they'll add back the sub and special information that was in splatoon 2. You could see it while in the testfiring room. I think you could access it in ammo knights too but I'm less sure about that. Adding an "Advanced Tips" section to each one would go a long way, including an image of the ink tank and the appropriate sub line. If that same percentage is shared with other subs, list them accordingly. The training bot needs to be able use every weapon type and sub, and you should be able to choose whichever combination and not have it simply mirror what you have equipped. The bot doesn't even do that currently, but it only has a splattershot type and basic splat bomb and you can never change it.
COUGH apartments COUGH I set my locker up like a mini apartment including a plushie I pretend is my inkling lying on it's little bed with a tv and game console in front of it
Imma be honest here. If there is going to be a Splat 4, the one ability that should be removed is respawn punisher. Reason why i hate that ability is because it increases the respawn time and takes 65% of the special guage. Clothes that have that ability should be given different abilities.
From a design perspective, it exists as an option to combat teams running a lot of Quick Respawn. Seeing as it is the only thing that can do that, I'd prefer it stays in the game, but perhaps the special penalty role could be given to something else, like a special or sub weapon that drains special charge.
You do know Respawn Punisher has a drawback right? The person wearing it also has longer respawn time if they get splatted. I'm a bias backliner - but we need abilities too. Tenacity is an ability no one actually uses.
Here are things I want: Allow us to make our own kits Newer bands so the more than 2 songs(yoko and gold bazookas had 3 fire songs, everyone else had 2 fire songs. Give one more fire song) More weapon classes
Personally I hope the devs can make better map designs, expand from the Squidbeak Splatoon in story mode (possibly create a new species for story mode?), and improve online overall
I thought of a game mode for Splatoon 4 called Protect the King (I tried to think of a 2 word name but couldn’t think of one) How it works: one player on each team is chosen as the king. The kings have 1,000 to 10,000 health, the game ends when the other teams king gets splatted. To stop the kings from staying at their base there could be a zone that slowly closes in on the middle and anyone in the zone starts taking damage (the respawn things move with the zone)
I hope we get more of like the Octarian stuff from story mode, it would be great to test out weapons on actual maps with ais to make it easier to train with them and learn techniques
Really hope Splatoon 4 is on better servers, so if they bring back Tri-Colour Turf War, it can be 4v4v4, instead of 4v2v2. It may be an unpopular opinion, but IMO, Tri-Colour was a cool concept that was not executed very well. But also the better servers would just make it an overall smoother experience.
2:57 If the special is off screen, there *is* an icon that shows up. But it can still be confusing if it's your teammate or the enemy... cuz you gotta see the color in a split second
In Splatoon 1, when you were in a match under your special meter, it used to show what gear abilities you equipped for that game, and if you had specific abilities like opening gambit or last-ditch effort, it would start flashing, letting you know it was active. It would be helpful to know when the abilities are active during a match instead of guessing when they are active, and I'm sure those new to the game may have no idea when those abilities start and stop working, so I think it would be an excellent quality of life change.
Here's what I think should happen in Splatoon 4,when it exists someday(fair warning right now it's gonna be incredibly and I mean INCREDIBLY long and I had to pull some other ideas I had in the past in other comments but hear me out): 1. I've been wanting this since 2 but we really NEED custom Splatnet orders. Like imagine right,a major gear drop was just announced and your favorite piece of gear is on that list but it's either not in your shop perspective or no one has it or wear it and doing battles takes an excessively long time if you're unlucky so I would add a custom splatnet order that lists out every gear from the game(whatever current patch it's on)scroll, click on it,change the ability if I wanted to and for coins or snails I can get it just fine. One drawback is of course you can't do another one in the next 24 hours so you gotta choose wisely on what to order. 2. This is VERY VERY specific and similar to how Vic misses the little blurb on if you and your teammates are using their special in Splatoon 2. I also miss where in Splatoon 1 where you can look at your main gear abilities on top right of the screen underneath the special gauge bar which is very helpful since even there are times I don't remember what I run on my builds and it would be a really good reminder(also pls bring back Bomb Sniffer thanks) 3. An equivalent to the My Music feature in Smash Bros where you can adjust sliders on how frequent the song plays or not(cause I for one am tired of hearing Tentacle to the Metal a bajillion times)and if possible they could add music packs in the future where you can play other songs from the previous games which would be a BIG step up and add a little more variety. 4. This is also similar to the more ink color combinations but I just want a color wheel. Now this is very specific but there a lot of people who have either an OC or 2 or multiple or an inksona who are associated with a certain ink color but there are times where you just cannot get it unless you go to a battle which can be up to 3-5 minutes or multiple hours depending on your luck and you remembering the ink color combos at all. So I would just rather have like a color wheel that has EVERY ink color in the game, including the likes of story mode, splatfest, even Salmon and just make easy pictures of your sona or OC without going through the hassle so much. It's literally so simple! 5. Taking another note from Vic and that we need a different way to see rotations and patch updates. I was thinking probably from your in-game phone you can scroll and see what's available to you cause not everybody has their own personal computer(or phone with a Safari or whatever's the equivalent on google phones)that I think would be a great heads-up on what's going on instead of waiting on twitter to find a link and see what got changed or what got fixed which gives the the segue to go into my next addition.... 6. A👏PART👏MENTS! Seriously where are they?? I've been waiting for them ever since this game was announced over 3 years ago! We all know that Monolith Soft helped in making Splatoon,Xenoblade but did you know they also worked on some Animal Crossing games? They've supported the series since New Leaf and I want them to take a page in that,Happy Home Designer and New Horizons/Happy Home Paradise and just give us a furniture shop where you can design and customize your apartment, interact with it,rate it,invite friends and maybe an alternative way to host a private battle. Come on Nintendo you know you want to.... 7. Gonna take a page into my project and just add more shops that aren't the usual gear, locker decorations and weapons. Aside the aforementioned furniture shop I also want to see like an ink tank shop where you can a different ink tank aside the usual ones on multiplayer and salmon so like either a hot sauce bottle,a honey/jam jar or a lava lamp(heck where was the baby bottle ink tank for Jr back in Splatoon 2? WHERE WAS THAT?!). I've also taken account of a special hair shop where you can get like unique hairstyles or like a combo of two different hairstyles into one cause I've seen a lot of fanmade hairstyles from other people or the hairs in the artbooks and I would end up severely disappointed cause they're NOT in game. In addition I would also like to add a photo booth for just simple photos aside from going to recon or using an amiibo for it and hoping your flopping squid or octopus isn't in frame. So filters, backdrops, the option to go solo or have multiple people, all the works. Also a real cafe with a variety of foods you can choose similar to the likes of ElectraFirefly's work(please check out their work they make some AMAZING delectables that you wish were in the game irl) 8. Just more customization quality of life. Just like everybody else I was severely disappointed that all the customization at the START OF THE GAME is still all we have and as I play an octoling we get even LESS hairs cause come on dude....So I was thinking make everyone have an equal amount of hairstyles, add more pants(especially a cuter skirt cause I hate the one we have now)the option to use all eyebrow options+more(seriously I need to know what an inkling girl with the inkling boy eyebrows would look like)voice slider, more eye colors, facial features, different types of pupils etc. 9. If they intend on keeping stuff like the Shell-Out Machine and the catalog, adjust them to make getting what you want easier. For the former,I want an exchange shop where each attempt gives you points and depending on the points based on the capsule's rarity you can exchange for whatever title, banner you want(especially when a certain someone is wanting the Annaki banner and the rice ball title for months but all I get are EXP tickets why). For the latter, have an opening week bonus similar to the close out bonus when the season is over or have a more extensive bonus when Splatfest happens where you can have a bigger bonus depending on how many matches you play and I know not everyone has the time to play Splatfest but you can't deny this is a pretty sweet deal right? 10. Can we PLEASE bring back the arcade games?! Like seriously why have they decided to just ditch them altogether. Sure not everyone has time to play them back them but they're a more novelty thing to do whether server maintenance is happening or you get banned online cause of Nintendo's godforsaken netcode and Tableturf isn't really the best for it nor doing anything else. Unless Nintendo is making a Squid Beatz DX as a sole separate game I see no reason why the arcade minigames are gone cause I want to see them back, especially arcades are still prominent in Japan today(Covid-wise or not) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bonus #1: A serious balance to the new Sub and Special ratio because we have gotten at least like 6 or 7 or 9 new specials what we got only what? 1(ONE)new sub in nearly 2 years(no I'm not counting Fizzbangs). They need to like adjust these and not ignore subs entirely cause I've seen a good handful from other people that would work better instead of just...flimsy marker. Whoopee.... Bonus #2: You know how in the lobby where you see Judd in the corner and gives you tips on how to utilize your weapon and kits and stuff? This entirely almost-useless mechanic that gives you zilch? That one thing many people ignore because it just a waste of time? Yeah I need a change in that too. I need it where Judd gives you like coins or a snail or even chunks depending on if you complete the tip or not cause it would incentivize more people to use these tips especially if their first Splatoon experience. Bonus #3: Why on this holy earth has Squad Battles not come back? It was such a missed opportunity to bring those back, especially the like of having ACTUAL 3v3s and this is(or was)Splatoon *3* after all. I know many people are missing the likes of League Battles and I do too(especially since they lied)but I think the real fallen soldier was that of Squad Battles. Bonus #4: This is just a me thing personally but I want gear that's not fit for fighting, similar to the likes of the grizzco gear. Wouldn't it be so cool/funny to do ink battles in like a hakama or pajamas? Seriously I want to just whack my opponents with a roller in like a night cap,and oversized pajama shirt and like zapfish slippers. Bonus #5: This will probably never happen but I want it anyway but please add a real time clock option. I just wanna fight opponents in like dawn or sunset or night time without relying on Splatfest cause I think it was sorely missed potential to have sunset battles right before fest happened. Imagine how beautiful that would be...THINK OF THE POTENTIAL WITH PBs and the photobooth and making photos depending on the skybox colors!
It'd be cool, maybe as part of the catalog system if that remains, to have specific daily/weekly/season goals that you get special rewards for instead of just a level bar. They don't need to be challenging, just something you'd have to think about completing vs mindlessly grinding levels. It'd also be neat to have a bit more to do in the hub city. Not sure what that would be but something that would get me to actually spend time there.
Honestly I really want to see more ink colours. We’ve still had the same ones since 2015. I was gonna say apartments but we got the lockers now and they’ll hopefully not get rid of that. Plus, I know I personally wouldn’t be spending a lot of time in my apartment haha
I got an idea for the lockers maybe they should get rid of the sticker limit because some people might have cool stickers and want to add them all to the locker but they can't(for me it's because I'm trying to three star and potentially 4 or 5 star all wepons).
I heavily agree with the idea of putting fully custom kits in the game and I hope a ton of other people do. Also, if that blurb that shows up on the side of the screen when a teammate uses a special, I think it would be beneficial if it was changed to show when an enemy is using a special as well.
I wish you could save emotes to freshest fits. Theres some weapon specific emotes and fit specific emotes that just don't hit the same when you change everything up...
guessing like they're limiting the ink colors so it harmonizes with the backgrounds/environments? like teal orange or yellow blue kinda looks nice against scorch gorge's sky and canyon
A small change that I really wish they would’ve done is a “reapply ticket” option. Having to back out of a lobby just to reapply a ticket is very frustrating. This would be such a good quality of life update.
What's even worse than there being only one locker design you can save is that there's NO undo button and there's no "Don't save" button on any customization you've done. You accidentally cleared and reset your whole locker? Oops. Too bad, it's stuck like that. There's no "Close without saving" button, there's just "Close with how it is right now" button.
My only goal with tableturf isn’t to get good at the game, but to make every card from the starter deck holographic. Also, they added a skip button to news in this game but also removed the idols talking about multiple stages per broadcast, and originally they didn’t even talk about stages at all until it was patched in! Why?
Seriously it’s something I hoped they’d fix later in the game ;;; I hope we get custom colors (all the fest colors were added a month ish after updates were done ) in s3 pbs like we did s2 !!! If we do get repeats of holiday fests I can see that as reasoning why we won’t get them. But fingers crossed
I think it would be better to have the updates patch notes directly in the game. The news would remember you to go to the computer in the lobby and there would be all of them and you could read them directly. Mainly because some patch notes are a bit tedious to explain in the news, plus they would have to prepare dialogs por each of them.
3rd point is so real, i hate the trend of current games expecting everyone to be online and constantly aware of online/twitter posts for information, like why wouldnt everything just be stated in the full game??? same with the app thing, like what about kids playing who dont have phones? i dont mind the app concept in general, i like seeing if there are challenges going on or just game info without booting up my switch, but some of the stuff thats app exclusive is wild
I think this might be an obvi one but PUH-LEASE stop designing maps so you only have 2 routes out of spawn and then your dropped down and all funneled into mid with only one of the routes allowing you to get back.
The game not telling you things is so real, I actually had no idea how to squid roll through the entire Rock Paper Scissors fest, and didn't know you could do it off of walls until After Alterna... seriously, they put squid surges in the tutorial, so why not anything about squid rolls???
i think news should still be skippable but i really wish there was an option to auto-progress thru the news if you choose not to skip it. i Like the news, it's cute, but i still skip it most of the time because i don't want to be pressing A a bunch instead of getting right into the game. if i could have it run by itself while i do hand stretches though that'd be perfect imo
I'm a big fan of player customization. this isn't a super big one but I'd love more player options like eyeshape or even just more octoling hairstyles to match the number of inkling styles. I know what we have is fine but I'm greedy.
Honestly, probably one of the biggest changes I want is to get rid of sub abilities. The ability system as it is is something that only helps the no life players and makes the new player experience worse. Why do weapons have to play so badly until you make them feel mediocre enough with a "good" ability set? Just make them feel good by default, and make it so you just have to choose between your three main abilities (and have them be something that actually is good and effective/yet simple like the 3 perk system from the old good COD games rather than something so nothing that it needs a stack of 4 abilities to feel slightly helpful).
I do believe that skippable news hurts a bit on the impression of Deep Cut, I also just believe they didn’t leave an impact on the story mode whatsoever
Literally all I wanted from Splatoon 3 to differentiate it from Splatoon 2 was a new, permanent ranked mode… and we didn’t get that. So to make up for that Splatoon 4 should have at least two new permanent ranked modes.
I think we should be able to skip the victory/defeat screens. Also some way to skip/speed up the introductory match screen; Splatoon 3 has too many loading times which impedes players from enjoying something like a good rotation or their limited time of gaming to the fullest.
There are a couple things I personally would like. The BIG things I'd wanna see are improvements to general clothing customization, such as easier gear ability swapping. For me the Chunk system feels kinda awful especially since I really want to have seasonal outfits but it'd take so much chunk grinding to do that and I'd likely need to swap if I wanted to try another weapon. Also I want a more interactive Hub, I wanna be able to live in the world more like, dance at Splatfests, sit on couches or benches. I also wanna be able to chill with my friends in the hub when we're in a party Kinda sully and minor but it would be nice Secondly, as someone with pretty severe sensory issues I just want more visual accessibility options in general. Like the option to choose the specific ink color combo I want rather than a couple of arbitrarily picked ones. None of the color lock options work for me rn and in both at least one of the colors I find it next to impossible to see enemies outside their ink. I also would personally like to see maps that'd slow the game down a tad. The speed of S3 feels fairly stressful to me at times since with my issues parsing what's happening onscreen I can't really keep up. I don't want S2 levels of defense or anything, just a little more downtime to gather my thoughts, albiet that is likely not a common thought.
For real, Splatoon 3's hub world is so cool and big but there's NOTHING to do there. It would honestly be an awesome space to play hide-n-seek with friends online or something.
This might not be a major change, but it is to me. I wish hats or other fashion items wouldn't change based on ink color. The amount of times when I tried to make a fit and it was ruined by my ink color are too many.
2 things- I will never understand why the color lock ink colors aren’t normally available? Like why not? And I wish that things would update automatically in the lobby, the amount of times I go up to a ghost in the lobby and try to join them only for it to tell me I can’t because the room is closed. Right now it just feels like a pointless feature other than the pop ups that say people leveled up and stuff, joining through them just doesn’t work well.
(Sorry this is so long, I wasn't going to comment originally but I might as well ramble and appease the YT algorithm at the same time! XD) Idea 2: I'd like some public pools to be added, perhaps ones that have a certain amount of players in the pool to ensure there's always someone online to join in. I personally haven't bothered with the pool system because I tend to play solo but during events like Splatfest it'd come in handy, instead of picking a pool name and just hoping it's one already in use by a ton of people. Idea 7: I'd have all patch notes be accessible in the lobby terminal but have the idols highlight in an un-skippable news announcement (like they already do for important updates and patch notes) so players are kept in the loop. Idea 8: I respectfully disagree, a lot of the time it's just stage rotations and once you've read the Deep Cut commentary once you don't need to be forced to read it again. I think the devs just need to take that into account and find other places and ways to show off an idol's personality. Idea 9.1: I'd like Freshest Fits being expanded to also include poses so I don't have to manually change them between matches and maybe let banners and badges be attached to that too! (So you could have a Fresh Fit for Splatfests, for example!) Idea 9.2: Give us apartments!! But seriously the lockers are fun but there's WAY too many items to decorate with and not enough space to do so, not just in the amount of items but the literal size of some of them making it so you can't fit much else in around it. The devs made it clear early on they weren't expanding the size of the lockers but I hope it made them realise how much we loved the feature and so they'll hopefully expand on it and give us more options. Ways to display favourite badges, the stats of what medals we've gotten in battles. Our favourite gear etc. and of course the decorations (if we go the way of apartments, maybe a bookshelf to actually decorate so the console doesn't have a meltdown trying to load a room full of items, haha!). Player stats would be an awesome and welcome addition for me though! My biggest request for Splat 4 is more attention on Salmon Run, it's no longer just a silly side mode and it's arguably just as complex as Ranked Splatoon battles. An obvious request is for some new modes that are permanent but I'd like a bit more; Give us recon for Salmon Run maps! I'm still learning the layout of Bonerattle Arena and have to learn on the job because there's no way to explore it solo, they could easily add it as an option in the training manual. Speaking of the manual, let players practice against all types of Salmonid and special waves. I feel a huge barrier to entry is understanding the basic mechanics and ways to defeat bosses. I still have players in EVP that don't know Explosher can 1-shot Flyfish or that Maws are best defeated with bombs, or that the vertical flick of rollers can hit Steelheads etc. and I feel having a safe environment would encourage players to practice with different weapons and learn about these techniques, especially the Grizzco weapons with their unique playstyles and behaviours against different boss Salmonid!
I have a tough time seeing the enemy sometimes in super dark blue ink. (I'm not colorblind) Just now I had a mirror match with the green and pink from splatoon 2. I wish we saw it more!
Something I’d really like for s4 is to make amiibos for splatoon have more of a purpose instead of give u free gear and changing your character’s customization quickly. They should make it so that each day, there’s a special challenge or whatever you have to complete for free rewards being either a food ticket or money or even like a free piece of gear you’d like! Idk I feel like the amiibo system is very limited and for $20 it’s kinda of a shame…
There's been a lot of people theorizing that the next game will be a soft reboot of the story, and we'll have to say goodbye to all of the characters that we know. However, I really hope they don't do that. Sure, some characters don't need to come back (the Squid Sisters have been in 3 games and haven't really done anything interesting; I don't understand why they always take the spotlight), but Deep Cut has the potential to be really cool and interesting, and to have them get shafted in their own debut game and never used again would be really annoying. ALSO PLEASE CUSTOM KITS NINTENDO PLEASE
On the topic of the in-game awareness, I don't think it's really an issue. Instead of the text on the right side that says what special it was, there's a bubble that appears with an easily distinguishable icon that shows not just what special was used, but where it was, which is information that is entirely missing in the splatoon 1 and 2 system. Would using both of them be better, yes, maybe. But it isn't fair to say that less information is being made available when the opposite is true.
1 like = one more % chance that the blurb comes back in s4 (100% chance means we get it. maybe. smile)
it’s cool 😎 too
can we have bubble blower in the package? 😭
i think you mean 50%
7:36 Instead of making the news unskippable (cause there will be people who still mash through it and don't read any of it)
Give the Splatoon 4 idols a podcast!
Splatoon 3 kinda does that already, as when you hit skip, an icon of the group appears in the top of screen talking about the news.
@@Pepperknight341 Yeah, that's where I got the idea from ^^
I just think player's should have the option to turn it on and off whenever so they're more likely to read it
@@CheesyLizzy yeah but its not really that good because your stuck listening it while skipped until it ends 😭
@@7nat7 This is why I said you could turn it on and off in my pitch?

Long story short, Victoria wants:
1. More paint combinations.
2. Advanced lobby code system.
3. More precise instructions.
4. Notifications during the game.
5. Expanded lobby
6. Incentivized side modes (whatever that means)
7. Patch notes mentioned in-game
8. She wants unskippable news (WHHHHHYYYYYYYY?!)
9. Custom weapon kits (please no, I was told off for that idea on social media)
10. A lot more customization.
11. Apartments (I'm not surprised)
I hope I got this correct.
Unskipable news is like the most burning take I have ever heard in my life…
Unskippable news would be really annoying whenever a new challenge happens, and custom kits could probably be limited to private battles (i don't think anyone wants to see squeezer + burst/booyah)
Here's some that I want (aside from common requests like more hair/pant styles, map design, etc):
General:
- Default ink color for outside multiplayer (I like my orange hair, and I want to keep it orange).
- Volume control for music, dialogue and sound effects.
- Maybe instead of unskippable news returning, we could have the option to make it “unskippable.” Make it something you turn on or off in the options menu, with it being on by default.
Recon Mode:
- Make the timer optional, invite friends, take pictures with friends, swap weapons while in recon, clean up option, change game modes (including Splatfests when they're available). Also, *Recon salmon run maps!*
- Improved photo mode. I want more poses (including every pose unlocked in the catalog if catalogs return), wider camera movement, additional filters, and most importantly *the ability to pose without amiibo.*
Salmon Run:
- High-performing Salmon Run workers should high-five and fist bump each other ;D.
- A bring your weapon to work day for Salmon Run.
- Recon Salmon Run maps.
- Single-Player Salmon Run for those who want to take on a Salmon Run solo. It could be good practice, allowing players to get to know the maps and the bosses better for multiplayer.
Single-Player:
- Way too many to list, lol.
Here's some of my ideas that weren't in this video
1: not only should the map announcements remain skippable, but they should be skippable all the time. The fact that they're not during Splatfests is really annoying. The important things like patch announcements and Splatfest results can stay the way they are
2: private battles should give money and EXP, money and EXP don't give you an advantage in solo queue so there's no reason we can't just hand them out like candy
3: just let me buy anything and everything in the shops if I'm willing to scroll through the giant list. No more hoping on RNG to summon the clothes I like
4: the amount of ability chunks required for Splatfest tees should be how it works for all gear, nobody likes grinding
5: more control over the music. They could borrow the mechanics from Smashy Bros where every song has a slider that you can move to determine how often you hear it
6: the ability to set a default ink color for your character, where they'll always be that color in the plaza, lobby, and in recon mode
7: either remove catalogs entirely or just remove the time limits. Either let me hoard them and level them up at my own pace or remove them and put new things in the shops. There's no reason to make items limited time only in a game I already fully paid for
8: DRESSES PLEASE GIVE ME DRESSES I NEED PRETTY DRESSES
I think the gear shop is fine, but it could use an update. Make it more Able sister from animal crossing: bigger list. We have 3 stores with the Dlc... why do they all sell the same gear? Come on Nintendooo.
I hope that when the final update has come out they do something about all the catalogue stuff we missed out on. Like some of us have lives and can't 100 grind every single one.
And no- the rng shell out machine doesn't count.
@@lorettabes4553Yeah… no they’re just keeping the Shell-Out Machine RNG thing as an excuse.
PLEASE let #7 and #8 happen PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE
Blurple i think will never leave my brain after s3 LOOOOL
3:42 counterpoint, i was never aware to begin with /J
@@mitsplelt touché…….. (I like to believe I am sometimes LOL)
@@sophont_sea_anemoneu wanna throw hands with ryujinx ldn? (shoal = online worldwide with other ryu users)
I really want the old s1 feature where you could see your gear icons light up mid game when they were active it would be so helpful for so many abilities
Opening gambit and comeback especially.
Big no to the unskippable news, I stopped playing S2 for this sole reason

@@ShadowSkyXhaha, nah, just busy
What they could do for pools would be: have a separate type of pools dedicated to people instead of groups, so that people could follow influencers directly instead of having to find their pool. If too many people were joining them or they just didn’t want people to they could make their pool private.
wait influencer pools would kind of be awesome. they’d have to up the number of notifs you could get probably though!! :0
@@Vicvillon Vic responded to my comment :0
All I want is for Beta Eeltail and Beta Scorch to come back, please, my babies, they were taken away from me...
In no particular order:
It does require more chunks to place abilities on as a trade off, but you can place 2 -
4 gear exclusive abilities on it, so long as the abilities correspond with the occupied gear slots (Example: Order Suit Replica can have
2 Mains of Ninja Squid, or 2 Mains Pants abilities.).
10. "Idol Battle!" During Splatfest, If your Team is in a mirror match, you'll face off against 1 of 3 teams:
Squid Sisters: Callie, Marie, Captain, and Agent 4
Off the Hook: Pearl, Marina, Agent 8, and Acht
Deep Cut: Shiver, Frye, Agent 3, and Big Man (Who has more HP to compensate for his hit box.)
Defeating any team will give you more clout, but you loose clout if you lose. Beating the teams multiple times will give you the Amiibo gear, as well as their outfits.
It is INSANE to me that ppl say Deep Cut has no personality. Imo they have the most personality of all the idols!
THE A BUTTON DOES WHAT? oml that's helpful
Yup it’s new!!! And it’s great especially in SR ‼️
I think my top five would be, in no particular order:
- Fully disconnect gear from outfits (i.e. have the gear options be done separately from the clothing options, maybe adding additional clothing options as a result since, well, that isn't restricted by the gear system any more - Glasses and hats would be possible, as would mixing and matching shirts and jackets (outside of options that would cause clipping, etc)
-matchmaking for tableturf
-imrpoved salmon run rewards (...Seriously 300p towards catalogue per wave is way too low - it's the mode that takes longest and it's only slightly more than a turf war loss for winning, even before we get into the obvious grindfest that is scales - If you need 100 golden scales for anything, golden scales should never be dropping at below 1%)
-something new for story mode.
Bring back the UI that let people now when a special's being popped, why did they ever take that out I have no idea.
WHY IS SHE GONEEEEE BRING HER HOOOOME
Huh? Am I dumb? I thought it was in the game😳
@@SpicyWasabiBeatz there’s a little teeny tiny pop up circle but it’s not the same as it was in the prior games !
There’s some people who still think recon mode is a mod in private battles💀
COUGH apartments COUGH
I set my locker up like a mini apartment including a plushie I pretend is my inkling lying on it's little bed with a tv and game console in front of it
Imma be honest here. If there is going to be a Splat 4, the one ability that should be removed is respawn punisher. Reason why i hate that ability is because it increases the respawn time and takes 65% of the special guage. Clothes that have that ability should be given different abilities.
"hey guys let's put an ability in the game that makes EVERYONE play the game less"
"great idea"
From a design perspective, it exists as an option to combat teams running a lot of Quick Respawn. Seeing as it is the only thing that can do that, I'd prefer it stays in the game, but perhaps the special penalty role could be given to something else, like a special or sub weapon that drains special charge.
You do know Respawn Punisher has a drawback right? The person wearing it also has longer respawn time if they get splatted.
I'm a bias backliner - but we need abilities too. Tenacity is an ability no one actually uses.
Me when I use tenacity
Here are things I want:
Allow us to make our own kits
Newer bands so the more than 2 songs(yoko and gold bazookas had 3 fire songs, everyone else had 2 fire songs. Give one more fire song)
More weapon classes
Personally I hope the devs can make better map designs, expand from the Squidbeak Splatoon in story mode (possibly create a new species for story mode?), and improve online overall
Bring back Agent 4 Factopedia or at least something like that, where we can some facts that can’t be seen in game or on the NSO app
I thought of a game mode for Splatoon 4 called Protect the King (I tried to think of a 2 word name but couldn’t think of one)
How it works: one player on each team is chosen as the king.
The two things I want the most from Splat 4: more efficient ways to farm ability chunks, and major improvements to stick controls
Here's what I think should happen in Splatoon 4,when it exists someday(fair warning right now it's gonna be incredibly and I mean INCREDIBLY long and I had to pull some other ideas I had in the past in other comments but hear me out):
I also miss where in Splatoon 1 where you can look at your main gear abilities on top right of the screen underneath the special gauge bar which is very helpful since even there are times I don't remember what I run on my builds and it would be a really good reminder(also pls bring back Bomb Sniffer thanks)
Also a real cafe with a variety of foods you can choose similar to the likes of ElectraFirefly's work(please check out their work they make some AMAZING delectables that you wish were in the game irl)
Unless Nintendo is making a Squid Beatz DX as a sole separate game I see no reason why the arcade minigames are gone cause I want to see them back, especially arcades are still prominent in Japan today(Covid-wise or not)

Bonus #1: A serious balance to the new Sub and Special ratio because we have gotten at least like 6 or 7 or 9 new specials what we got only what?
Now we wait for the war splatfest
2:26 I am that one person. What. the. WHAT?!?! I've been playing this game since day one!! What the snuff?!
2:45 they still have it. Instead on the screen, it shows you where your teammate is and what special they’re using. Which I gotta say it’s better
I heavily agree with the idea of putting fully custom kits in the game and I hope a ton of other people do. Also, if that blurb that shows up on the side of the screen when a teammate uses a special, I think it would be beneficial if it was changed to show when an enemy is using a special as well.
The best thing splatoon 4 could do is have good online servers...
Great quality of life ideas!! Especially being able to see when specials are being used!
Of course, some of these depend on which team wins the GrandFest
2:57 and also please make so you can see specials that go on the ground like cooler or wave
I need someone at Nintendo to see you and chara's vids abt what needs to change in 4 cuz you both make so many good points and suggestions!!
A small change that I really wish they would’ve done is a “reapply ticket” option. Having to back out of a lobby just to reapply a ticket is very frustrating. This would be such a good quality of life update.
4:52 Alphastar, Squidmin, and Cephalorock cameo????
What's even worse than there being only one locker design you can save is that there's NO undo button and there's no "Don't save" button on any customization you've done. You accidentally cleared and reset your whole locker? Oops. Too bad, it's stuck like that. There's no "Close without saving" button, there's just "Close with how it is right now" button.
I wish we could choose from multiple text colours for each banner. I love that blue one, but the pink text is a bit of a painful contrast.
Also Vic If we talk about wanting skippable news theres a 100% chance that they will remove skippable news and never add it back
Maybe for announcements in game we can get newspaper or a magazine to see the updates new season etc.
I didnt know the replay graph existed that's wild, and if i did i forgot
The one thing I want is for it to have a completely new story and not just another rehash for the fourth time in a row
Who else learned things in this video about Splatoon 3 that they didn’t know before? 🙋♀Vic is 100% right about all of these!
My only goal with tableturf isn’t to get good at the game, but to make every card from the starter deck holographic.
Also, they added a skip button to news in this game but also removed the idols talking about multiple stages per broadcast, and originally they didn’t even talk about stages at all until it was patched in! Why?
I thought i was the only one complaining about lack of ink colours im glad someone addressed this issue
2:01 IVE LEGIT NEVER HEARD OF THIS UNTIL NOW??! HELLO???
We need most of this stuff on sea cucumber because in the trailer they introduced them but you can't use them for some odd reason
I HOPED that side order would have custom kits.
Honestly i keep forgetting lockers even exist they are just so easy to forget
I want an option to be able to buy chunks.
Theirs so much gear I want to use, but the main ability on it isn't what I want.
I wouldn't mind an expansion to the customization options
Literally all I wanted from Splatoon 3 to differentiate it from Splatoon 2 was a new, permanent ranked mode… and we didn’t get that. So to make up for that Splatoon 4 should have at least two new permanent ranked modes.
YESSS VIC I REALLY WANT APARTMENTSSSS (and a judd copy!!!!!)
I also wanna be able to chill with my friends in the hub when we're in a party
Kinda sully and minor but it would be nice
Secondly, as someone with pretty severe sensory issues I just want more visual accessibility options in general.
🧼🧼🧼🧼🧼🧼 SODA INK COLOR FROM SPLATOON 1 MY BELOVED 🧼🧼🧼🧼🧼🧼
2 things-
I will never understand why the color lock ink colors aren’t normally available? Like why not?
And I wish that things would update automatically in the lobby, the amount of times I go up to a ghost in the lobby and try to join them only for it to tell me I can’t because the room is closed. Right now it just feels like a pointless feature other than the pop ups that say people leveled up and stuff, joining through them just doesn’t work well.
(Sorry this is so long, I wasn't going to comment originally but I might as well ramble and appease the YT algorithm at the same time! XD)
Idea 2: I'd like some public pools to be added, perhaps ones that have a certain amount of players in the pool to ensure there's always someone online to join in.
(So you could have a Fresh Fit for Splatfests, for example!)
Idea 9.2: Give us apartments!!
My biggest request for Splat 4 is more attention on Salmon Run, it's no longer just a silly side mode and it's arguably just as complex as Ranked Splatoon battles. An obvious request is for some new modes that are permanent but I'd like a bit more;
Give us recon for Salmon Run maps!
I wanna them to try out a day and night cycle for the lobby hub just for fun
I have a tough time seeing the enemy sometimes in super dark blue ink. (I'm not colorblind)
Just now I had a mirror match with the green and pink from splatoon 2.
Idk I feel like the amiibo system is very limited and for $20 it’s kinda of a shame…
i would like to customize my weapons
I want to be able to choose my character’s handedness.
omg thanks girl i didnt know about the fast forwarding update 😭😭❤️
I want a playable salmonid in splatoon 4, like how we got octolings in splatoon 2
I’d love to actually be able to favorite weapons, they’re are so many sorting through them can be annoying
