List of good destinations when you are in Jakarta:
1. Monas (National Monument)
2. Kota Tua (Old Town, many museums of Dutch colonial heritage)
3. Senayan (Cool urban forest, convenient for walks, sports centers such as stadiums)
4. Sudirman Thamrin street
5. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)
6. Dufan
7. Ancol
8. SCBD street
9. Visit Istiqlal Mosque and Cathedral in across from the mosque
10. Tiger museum (Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara)
11. Sea world Indonesia
12. Jakarta Aquarium
13. Pantai Indah Kapuk 2/PIK 2 (there are beaches, Chinatown, lots of places you can visit)
As he is just walking around most of those are awful, especially TMII, it's a fake packaged presentation of culture. Tourists have better experiences walking around randomly like he did and enjoying random interactions and seeing daily life on small streets.
Most of those you mentioned are overcrowded tourist traps and really kinda not suitable unless you like walking for miles and baking in the sun. There's no real beaches at PIK, just restos.
Kota Tua at night is ok.

Hi Zane, August 17th will be Indonesian Independence day. There will be a lot of festivities around National Monument, usually there will be formal ceremony, marches, air show etc. Will be interesting for you if you going back to Jakarta. But I'll suggest you to be In Yogyakarta for around August 17th, they have interesting culture for celebrating the Independence day.

Hi zane I love your vids since bangkok, and btw looks like you'd using some malay to speaking to local jakartan haha, Malay and Indonesian is kind of similar but different just like Spanish and Portuguese, you can say Enak instead of Sedap for Delicious, Well hope u enjoying Jakarta Zane.
Make sure you use online taxi like Gojek or Grab when traveling in Jakarta or other areas in Indonesia, they're much cheaper than conventional taxi, also you can choose what you wanna ride, they have car and motorbike services, but motorbikes are usually a few dollars cheaper than a car

Just curious, what kind of questions did you encounter and why was it such a long process to clear Immigration/Customs compared to other SE Asian Airports? From your first vlog, Jakarta is giving me a lot of Manila vibes. Crossing the streets, pollution, and the languages of Bahasa and Tagalog sounds very similar!

Nothing for tourist to do in SCBD or Mega Kuningan except shopping malls or overpriced restos. PIK is so far and just more restos, not interesting for tourism.

12:41 that doubles decker bus is a tour bus, that you can get on for free. There are few routes for that bus that run tues-sunday (if I'm not mistaken) and outside rush hour . If you see bus stop with City Tour sign, those tour busses stop there.
PS: don't jaywalk on that road, major roads like Medan Merdeka (around monas), Thamrin, Sudirman, Block M and others do have proper crossing with lights that you can press if you want to cross and it will be red light for vehicles

In monument national you can see the museum and there's rooftop there you can see Jakarta from top but it close in Sunday, mostly weekend is close for place like that.
With long suffering to get there. He had a good view from Sarinah and also Spark has a good night view

If you want to cross the road.. just use "the magic hand" method. Basically just put your hand up, signalling them to stop. The traffic will most of the time give way. Don't hesitate, be confident. Cars are used to people crossing the road, so u will be safe. Watch for the bikes though, they're usualy less patient.
