I loved the arcade version of this game and played both that and the Atari 2600 version a lot. I remember wishing that it would come out for the ColecoVision or Commodore 64, for graphics and gameplay that were closer to the arcade version, but that sadly never happened. For anyone out there who misses this game, it has just been released for the Switch.
I didn't play the arcade version. I found it odd that to get a good score you have to hit the bell and go back down to get fruit again, but if you die, it doesn't replace the fruit. I had a lot of trouble jumping gaps to levels and that took away the fun. Like Donkey Kong, Jr. I can only get through a few levels until it becomes too difficult.
So The WestMister Quarters is the name of that melody comin’ out of that bell hu’ ... very interesting, oh yes & great game, never grew up with it but I really do enjoy it nowadays.... & yea, so West Mr Quarterssss, .. Hansel,... HANNSELLLL’🧐 ??????!!!!????”
I find this game to offer some decent action packed moments, but I feel like the "Novice" level is way too hard, and this is off-putting to someone who isn't familiar with the game. The 5200 has a much more approachable Novice level, despite having slightly more awkward controls (thanks to the non-centering joysticks). I was never able to even beat the 2nd screen on the 2600 version until after much practice on the 5200 version. I was previously considering 2600 Kangaroo to be one of the weakest selections in my 100 cart 2600 collection, but I'm viewing it more favorably after coming back to it after a long hiatus.

They left out the best screen with baby roo being held up in the cage by the tall link of monkeys. They should have deleted the 2nd level instead
Another great video, really enjoy them thanks!
This sounds great!

Blathering Blatherskite!
Kangaroo is in my top 10
A fun review thanks.

I can’t even get through the first screen. Why is this so hard?
Love this game
Roses are red
Violets are blue...

It's challenging, but once you get a hang of it, it's really fun!
This is a great review, but it could do with a few more profanities.
Fudge you.
