My "kid" is ten years older than Brett and I still enjoy watching her. Seeing how Gen Z sees things and what and how they are talking about things is something I'd never normally have any exposure to. The way Brett presents topics and the way people react to them is informative and entertaining. It's also nice to have someone to watch that isn't just angrily throwing tantrums all the time. Thanks for interviewing her and to Brett you deserve all of your success.

Yesss on the trad wife convo. I’m 100% trad wife, and not the trendy kind. And I don’t use social media bc it’s so unrealistic. I homeschool my kids, my husband and I have extremely traditional roles and are at the same time madly in love, I clean and cook and take care of kids, he works a super hard blue collar job to provide for us and take care of us, we are white, middle class, conservative Christian’s. We’re like as basic and traditional as you can get lol and like Brett said- I consider motherhood as my (more than) full time job, not as something I have to do. It’s something I’m incredibly blessed and honored to be and take it very seriously. The “trad wives” online are 100% not traditional wives.
Hi twin! You described me! Only I have a small home bakery and my kids go to a 1 room school, but we'll be homeschooling after this term as we're moving. Be blessed 🙌🏻 😇
I appreciate your comment. My husband is an ER nurse. I stay home and homeschool our 3 boys. I cook, clean, etc. but some days I don't enjoy it. I get overwhelmed and I hate to say sometimes wish I had a job. Lol.. But there's no way I would put my boys in public school. I know my job is the most important job I could ever do. And I know this is a privilege. I do wish I enjoyed it more sometimes though if I'm honest. 😂
@@blessed4737 hi! Love to hear this! I don’t think those things make you not a traditional wife. You sound like a wonderful wife and mama! God bless you too!
@@ambermoore7866 on the daily sometimes it’s hard to enjoy every moment. And that’s not terrible, it’s just honest. In the whole though, I appreciate so much that I get to do this, and honestly perspective is the key to enjoying it. If you actively thank God for your husband and boys and that you can homeschool and stay home with them each day, your head will shift to match your heart. Change your perspective. Tell yourself every day that you GET to do this. That many people would KILL to be able to stay home with their kids and for whatever reason in their situation they aren’t able to. We don’t have to miss our kids. Ever. We get to raise them the way WE want. We don’t have to hear them come home from school in tears over what happened or have to deal with issues at school and not be able to be there with them or to fix the situation. We don’t have to teach them what we don’t want to. We get to tailor make their education just for them. We get to BLESS our family members with how well we do our job. We GET to make our houses a loving calming and safe environment where our whole family feels safe and loved. I’ll be praying for you girl, but I encourage you to try and shift your perspective one day at a time and watch how it changes your heart and mind about your position at home. I used to feel the way you feel. I don’t anymore. The last few years have taught me so much and a lot of it started with deciding to read proverbs 31 every day for a month. I did that and prayed for God to help me have that heart for my family, and he did. He changed my perspective and my views on what I do. Does that mean I never get overwhelmed or lonely or wish I could do this that or the other thing? No. But it means at my core I know this is what I’m meant to do and that it’s a massive blessing and when I go through hard times, I have that perspective and that heart-shift to bring me back to joy in what I do. As a woman, I would much rather be a stay at home wife/mom and take care of the kids and house than to work a public job and do all of that at the same time. I have taught elementary school for 22 years. So, there are times of the year that I am home like summers, holidays, weather days, etc. I am a different person during times than I get to be home than the person I am when I am working 40-50 hours a week. I am happier and more relaxed during times when I don't have school. My kids are 18 and 22 now so it is a bit easier but when they were little I was very often overwhelmed and cranky because of all the demands on my time. The guilt over being cranky and knowing I shouldn't be and feeling like I was doing all I could and it not being enough was horrible. Would have LOVED to be able to stay at home and take care of my family and the house we lived in.
When your favorite journalist House inhabit ie Jessica Reed Kraus gets a shout out on Net Positive, you know you’re supporting the right people!!!! 👏👏👏👏
I like working for our own business. We have a service business. I create my own schedule. I cancel things when our kids need me. I make time for homeschooling our boys. That's all great and I also get to build something with my husband that is helpful to people and they give me money. I've built so many friendships through this business and I love all of that social connection and service to others. It's the best of both worlds. I did stay home with our boys until the youngest was in kindergarten. Even then...I currently work out of the house about 20-30 hours a week on my busiest day and many winter weeks I don't work more than one hour long stop. "Having it all" is figuring out what works for where you are in life and enjoying it. For me, anyway.
