Probably my favorite Quick Look now, its so fun to hear you guys talk about wrestling. In my opinion, one of the last good wrestling games has to be WWE Reckoning, but nothing can beat the good old WWF No Mercy or WCW/NWO Revenge on the N64.
At times the in-ring action does get close to looking real, but the dopy PS2 era animation sticks out a thousand times more now because of it. Cliffy B was right when he said animation is the next big hurdle for games. Unfortunately, he said that like 3 or 4 years ago and we're not really seeing an improvement, and not just in wrestling games. It's not acceptable for a character to rotate on the spot or slide around to get into position.
Dan doesn't know what sluggish means. The game is way more fluid and realistic than the previous one. He just likes the arcady style of the previous games, where bigger moves come out of nowhere, and dislikes the stamina system, which I prefer, better pacing and strategic gameplay. He is right about the chain wrestling, on paper it's a great idea for more realism but it's executed in a very uninspired way.
As someone who heavily disliked every wrestling game since SvR 2007 came out, this game is actually pretty good! It's still a wrestling game, but compared to previous years the gameplay is pretty goddamn solid. The drastically better animations make a whole world of difference, the matches FEEL like actual wrestling matches most of the time and the "sluggish" pace of the match is actually them making the gameplay more methodical instead of being the janky-animation fest it usually is. It's definitely more of a sim than anything else. Sure, you can still see Yukes' horrible handprints over some aspects of the game at times; but the core mechanics are (and I don't believe I'm actually saying this) pretty great. I can understand if Dan and Jeff don't like it because it's not arcadey enough, but at least judge the gameplay for what it is instead of for what it isn't even trying to be. Ugh. Why am I defending a wrestling game? Help!
So after hearing a good amount of information about this game it seems to me like the developers favored improving gameplay and visuals rather than modes and sandbox additives. Isn't that what most WWE game players were wanting since the PS3/XBOX 360 console launches happened? It seems to me that visually it looks stunning and the gameplay looks much improved. Isn't that what the game is all about? And it isn't like there aren't other games in this series besides this one that has awesome modes like GM. You want modes? Play Smackdown vs. RAW 2006 and you'll get modes believe me. I'd like to try this out for sure. SVR 2011 was my favorite PS3 iteration and I have played most of the major wrestling games that came out since 1997 so feel free to chat with me! Have a great night!
2002, and you called him a young Ric Flair that was good. It seems popular opinion this game isn't very good on any console, but it's largely due to the MYCareer being completely terrible. I don't even have a PS4/XB1....so I guess I'm content with still doing Universe mode in WWE '13 for the PS3 anyway. A friend and I have it all up to date after all with even more classic and Attitude wrestlers for fun. Still surprised how harsh the reviews have been for this game though, but if it's not a good game, then well it got what it deserved.
Don't delete Rybaxel, R truth and Xavier Woods. Only delete the Funkadactyls and the Bella twins. But you can delete the shield if u want to but u haven't unlock Evolution If u Unlock Evolution You can replace evolution to the authority then replace the shield to Reigns and Ambrose.
Love the content you guys provide though ive began to suspect you don't understand what the word quick means. When i think of quick relative to time its likely fifteen minutes or under whereas extended is anything beyond that. If you think about it this way, would you say im going to take a quick look at that tree, and then stare at it for an hour?
I'm pretty dissapointed by this game as well, it just doesn't feel as good as it should be, especially with this engine on it 3rd generation of hardware
